The reason that salvation doesn’t look like the future war is because it takes place 11 years before that. Salvation is in 2018 and the future war is in 2029
You could change the type of future war. Instead of a supercomputer committing genocide on its creators you have world superpowers using a computer to wage a terrible war. A Terminator is sent back by one side to kill the protagonist because they will become important for one of the world superpower. A protector is sent back to save them. Future movies have a protagonist for other superpowers. John Connor serves as the mentor figure who's goal is trying to make sure the world never becomes as violent as the future; because it's humanity's tendency to destroy themselves rather than a single super A.I it'll be a bigger, more cerebral challenge. This new series will explore if mankind is doomed to destroy itself or it can embrace its best qualities. It's a battle between human's good and bad side
The very first John Connor that was born was not Reese's son. So after Reese was sent back, then the original Connor was erased and replaced by the commonly known John Connor

It’s an infinite causality loop. The thing is, is that there is no original timeline. The past has always been the past where Kyle has been sent back and it cycles into infinity. It’s impossible that there that’s ever been a different beginning. Lol, contemplate that
Anthony Leckie To be fair the original timeline that we never see theory makes sense. We only see the future of it. The machines take over and John Connor helps the resistance take down skynet. Then, when the tides are turning skynet sends a t800 back to kill Sarah. In response John sends Kyle. Little did he know that he was going to fracture the current timeline and Kyle was going to be his dad in an alternate timeline. The choice made two timelines, one where everything continues as normal and the resistance takes down skynet because its plot failed, and the other where Kyle becomes John's father and the events of T2 take place and skynet gets destroyed in the past.
Sergio Cruz interesting. I never thought of it that way. That brings the question how did the John Connor of the original timeline become the salvation of man kind? It was stated as well as implied that it was Sarah’s knowledge of the future that allowed her to train and prepare John from birth to be the leader who could save humanity and defeat skynet. You have a very interesting point
@@darkstarshred69 You are wrong. Simply because the first film PROVES you wrong. That is the entire point of the picture scenes and why John gave Kyle Sarah's picture, knowing he would be going back to 1984. John KNOWS that Kyle is his dad and always did. That is the whole point of the original film. There is no 2 timelines.
@@LUCKO2022 Na the original timeline theory makes more sense because there is no telling how many times John sent Kyle back in time everything in the universe has a beginning you cant just say because said loop. The loop has to start from somewhere what causes the loop that's where the original timeline comes into play.
Grey World No that is not the case. In the comics Sarah Conner gave birth to a baby girl, named Jane Conner. That reset the timeline and erased what happened before, creating an alternate timeline. That idea is better than the clusterfuck the Terminator movies have become. No John Conner, No Kyle Reese and No Skynet, as all those had to happen for things to play out like they did in the Terminator series. Of course the timeline being reset, then the investment in the originals, feels like lazy writing for people who saw them. Similar to everything was just a dream.
RIP Skynet also. Now stupid Legion, who does the same, but worse. Skynet should travel back through time and kick the ass of the creators of Dark FART. I will help.
The ideal timeline 1. T1 2. T2 3. SC Chronicles 4. T4 T3 was campy, but a fun favorite of mine nethertheless. Never watched Sega Genisys nor waste my time with Dark Fat either.
I have an idea for the series. They can do a 'prequel', showing us how the war was and how John Connor sent Kyle back in time. This way they can bring John Connor back into the franchise, as, by that time people will forget the useless Genysis and Dark Fate
Elijah Hudson: yes and no. Salvation did show a future war, but it was more of the beginning of the war. What I said can either be called a prequel to T1, or a sequel to Salvation. The advantage of calling it a prequel is that it bypasses everything that's happened after Salvation (or, if you think of it, after T3). It's also a good way to bring John Connor back, as they've now erased him
That ending was confusing. Salvation was a really good look at the apocalypse and I wish would stay canon but doesn't look as if it will be sad face. T2 will always be a good film but T1 will always be the best I'm my opinion.
Good summary, but I disagree that we have to see that much of the future war. We already know what would happen/did happen. Sarah Connor did a perfectly fine job explaining it, we've been shown snippets of it. Kinda the whole point of it all is to STOP it from happening. Nuclear winter with a whole bunch of killing machines wandering around and mostly everyone dead. There's not much to see. Salvation focused heavily on that and I feel like there still wasn't that much to see there. Presumably the plot of the next movie will involve new and returning characters finding out that something else is happening that is going to start Skynet again. Probably Google lol
I was always found that one part where John's mother telling him to send a certain guy to the past that would end up being his father a little creepy. "Oh hey son can you send this one guy from the future who at the time of this recording probably isn't even born yet and there is a slight probability that you two will be good friends and look at each other as brothers back to the past to bang me? Thanks, love mom." But I think that Skynet is sending back and changing the time line so much so to win that is degrading the time line so much that it's causing it's own destruction in order to destroy humanity.
No it's not and technically she didn't she only told him if he doesn't he will never be John will never be born if he doesn't and no one to save human kind
@@spartanghost9713 A shit version of it instead of the proper one. I want to see the one we see glimpses at in T1 and T2. Not the sunshine and rainbows version McG gave us.

I personally liked dark fate tbh. I hated the start where they just out right killed John Connor without a 2nd thought but other than that I thought it was a solid movie
I think his original father was Sarah's boyfriend in T1, the one who cancels their date over the phone. But then again, who's to say Kyle is even John's father at all? What if Sarah was already pregnant by her boyfriend and just didn't know it and is just assuming Kyle is the father due to their one night stand? Keep in mind, Sarah did have a boyfriend before meeting Kyle, and I'm pretty sure they had a physical relationship and she had only known Kyle for about 48 hours before he died protecting her, therefore, before her and Kyle were intimate, Sarah could've already been a few days or even a week pregnant by then and simply didn't know it.
Interesting view on how Sarah might of been already pregnant before she met Kyle Reese when you mentioned she was already dating in the first movie. I mean shit happens right?! lol
She wasn't dating Stan she only had a date with him and bailed on her he probably heard about the murders of women named Sarah Connor and didn't want to be killed
My insane theory is that John Connor was never a real person at first. He was both a propaganda piece and an excellent decoy created by the remains of the world military minds banding together because no one is that badass and unkillable especially against killer robots. Time travel made things complicated and had to create such a person. ....I'm pretty cuckoo that way.
4:32 look above the divider under the bridge right before the semi hits it. Coincidence? If so its pretty damn spooky coincidence. Stuff like this makes me wonder if the universe doesn't try to warn us about things.
You're right, but that's because it took place in 2018 whereas it was 2029 when John sent Kyle back in time. So yeah, John was younger in Salvation than in the T2 intro which took place in 2029
what transforming face? when do we see his face transform? it's essentially the same person, being represented by different actors. the movie does NOT reveal that there was another John Connor. as far as we know, the only father of John Connor has ALWAYS been Kyle Reese. It's the reason John sent him back through time, and the reason he was given the photograph of Sarah Connor. I don't understand why Connor would give a picture of his mother to just another soldier otherwise. and at that moment in the photograph before Kyle came back, she had that look on her face, thinking of Kyle, the man who loved her and had given her a baby. these are all the events of the original that made no mention of another father/John Connor whatever. show me a director's commentary (of the orginal movie) that confirm's your theory...until then i don't think so. It's not your story, you can't just make shit up unless you have proof.
The Terminator comic book series series call The Burning Earth is an excellent read. I would suggest reading it. The art is done by Alex Ross and a story is stellar
The theory about John having a different father does make more sense, but... then there's Genesys. When you think about it, Skynet already succeeded, cause if she was suppose to be impregnated when Kyle Reece arrived, but not by Kyle, then that would mean that John Connor is already assassinated. If the Genesys timeline proves the theory wrong, then John Connor remains a Paradoxical Anomaly that can NOT naturally exist without time travel.
And the fact that John was supposed to be born in 1985 but Sarah and Kyle jump to 2017 before John is even conceived which would make his conceivement and birth decades later than originally planned and he would have grew up AFTER Judgement Day as opposed to before and during. Of course that creates an alternative timeline than the one Kyle knew, as explained in Genisys because of the T-5000 infecting his timeline version of John, making him a T-3000. Kyle begins remembering two different timelines due to John's 2029 attack. The Skynet T-5000 says it traveled a long way for John, which implied that that version of Skynet traveled through multiple different timelines before reaching that specific one. So the T-3000 version of John they meet in 2017 is from the original timeline Kyle came from, but Sarah is also from an alternative timeline than they are due to the T-101 being sent to the 70s, which would have caused a deviation from the original timeline Kyle and John were from. When Kyle went back in time, the original timeline had been altered already. I believe that Kyle and John came from the same timeline, mainly because Kyle sees John attacked as he is being sent back, but Sarah is from another timeline due to already knowing about the future 10 years earlier than originally. So you got original Kyle and John, alternate Sarah and then Kyle and Sarah again create a third alternative timeline by jumping to 2017. This is confusing hahaha I quit lol I hope you get my gist of it all lok
@@jcIIXVIIIVII Try imagining what the actual "original" timeline was. If we were to go back to where it really began (before the movies), it could be theorized that Skynet wanted to do the time thing to make itself have knowledge sooner (like develop t-1000, go back in time give itself blueprints in the past) but resistance found it, sent ppl back in an effort to stop it from happening, skynet sends t-101 after them, kills most, and one of those soldiers is kyle who bumps into sarah, then later john happens. If you really think about it, kyle is born after sarah dies of whatever cancer (them getting together, without time travel, naturally would be impossible - plus their massive age gap). If we ignore the "john had a different biological father", then john really only exists because of skynet. And if john ever manages to destroy skynet (100%) before judgement day, then there is no possible way for him to be born, basically assassinating himself and causing the original original timeline to re-emerge. time travel is dangerous and game breaking, cause paradoxes create massive plot holes. the movie "Predestination" takes the paradox idea and really exhausts it to the point of no return (the hero is the daughter of himself an herself, was recruited by his older self, saved by his more future self, has been chasing a maniac that he later discovers is also himself, and because of this maniac self is why he recruited himself --- yeah).
Chicken and egg type question though what was the original scenario before the loop? Jon and Sarah are ignorant of the future but he stumbles into being important enough to retroactively abort? So he just sends his best guy and Sarah is clever enough to concoct the myth in order to actually build Jon into a Savior by feeding information into the loop?

In Terminator 3 Rise of The Machine it's more than implied that John didn't send the Terminator back this time. Is there something I missed or was that storyline ever continued or elaborated on through comics or in a book?
@@MrHReviews Hopefully Sarah Connor Chronicles is covered in a later video. Personally I really enjoyed the series's, the cliffhanger at the end of (sadly) season 2 really threw the series's and the franchise into uncharted territory. Shame this wasn't carried on for future movie's.
Kyle Reese has always been his father. Regardless what time line. The picture taken at the end of James Cameron’s The Terminator were Sara Connor thinking about Kyle, and eventually would be given to Kyle In the future.
Logically thats impossible. Kyle is johns father in the altered timeline, not in the original unaltered timeline. The writers never do say who the original father is, but theres a particular scene after they escape the police station where Sarah and kyle rest/hide in that underpass, and Kyle explicitly tells sarah that john didnt say much about his father, but he did know he died before the war started, and then sarah cuts him off before he can say more about him, not wanting to know.
h rex Yes thats is seen and can make sense to your reasoning. However it also can be evidence to my , theory aswell. Kyle Reese being Connor’s father does die before the war. That adds up to what Kyle said in the underpass. Kyle also said he didn’t say much about him. If John being aware Kyle was his father, why we he say much to Kyle about it? John would keep it a secret from Kyle. The Picture of Sarah is proof that Kyle has always been the father. In the picture Sarah Connor is thinking of Kyle. There is evidence to my claim. But not to yours.
@@mikeface1 again, your theory works in the altered timeline. You cant have the altered timeline without the unaltered occurring first. Once the unaltered timeline plays out and kyle goes back to protect Sarah, that's when the altered timeline starts which then causes the loop where kyle then becomes his father everytime, and where your theory works. If you dont agree with that, then we'll just have to agree to disagree.
h rex what I’m saying Kyle and The Terminator From 2029 back to 1985 has always been the unaltered. The Terminator and Kyle are the fathers of Skynet and The resistance. They have always been there. It just doesn’t come full circle until and 2029 when they are both sent back in time. They both are the constant. It doesn’t make sense why there would be two John Connors with different Fathers, which would make them essentially and biologically two different people with the same exact fate. That don’t make sense to me.
All I’m saying due to the facts presented In the movie “The Terminator” there are no evidence within the realm of the movie that supports your theory. My theory actually has proof, the picture of Sarah Connor given to Kyle in the future, where within the picture Sarah is thinking of Connor. And in ultimate timeline what you may call the Original Connor has they same exact fate as Kyle and Sarah’s John Connor? Please ...

In T3 the T850 told john "I killed u" We did see that in salvation, only thing that stopped that was the fact marcus gave john his heart and of course that T850 wasnt reprogrammed by kate and sent back Thats why I like salvation unlike most people , it actually shows the war
John's mother sure does think something is off when talkong to jons father about the past in the truck scene. Like Jon s "father" sure does seem likes he undercover already setting up tge last film where hopefully it will show john in all his glory
Sarah was going on a date with Stan but doesn't mean she was dating him and why I think he cancelled because he heard about women with the name Sarah Connor being killed and scared he get killed too
It would be funny is if the man Sarah was originally Knocked Up by was Kyle Reese's grandfather. Because think about it when Kyle Reese is naturally born she'd be in her 50s. At the very least. Got to love Multiverse because without it we'd have this bootstrap grandfather paradox even though we still kind of do because of the two points of conversions for the Multiverse with judgement day and John conception by Kyle.
6:23 Kyle Reese was ALWAYS the father there is NO “Original” Timeline It’s a closed loop ,Cameron said it himself at least for the 1984 Original Terminator...It’s paradoxically stupid saying that there was an alternative father this is the most ludicrous Terminator fan theory and it creates Chaotic and irrational consequences to the story even if you believe in multiple Timelines like in the horrendous Genesys...If Kyle wasn’t the father in an “original” timeline, then it’s not a Terminator timeline at all it’s “outside” the Universe of Terminator maybe some other really boring movie because if Kyle isn’t send back the whole construction of Terminator’s World collapses...Let’s say that there is an “original” father and Skynet didn’t send the T-800(because it would’ve killed Sarah before she gave birth to anyone)then how the hell Skynet gets created?Who builds the TDE?Who starts the War etc. Without the chip(CPU)and hand of the T-800 Skynet wouldn’t have been created at least in time for Judgment Day(1997 or 2004) so it’s absolutely ridiculous for someone to say the Porshe guy was the original father ...There’s no other father only Reese forever and ever and ever...
John Connors is a person who saw the destruction of the human race. It is insightful to see john connors as a Type of Christ . the redeemer of Mankind. My birthname is John Connors. My Parents added the S to keep me safe from Terminators. Peace. Jc.
The only thing that bugs me is the scar, every John Connor have the same fricking scar. T1 Connor have the scar, T3 theres a glimps of Connor with the scar, Salvation he get the scar at the end and in Genesis he have it too.
If it remained clunky metal terminators, I could see a slim chance of humanity coming back but once you go micro/nano tech, even liquid form, they should / could be anything and distinctly able to wipe out humanity. All the stalling just seems to advance them to a state of being that a resistance shouldn't come about, if nothing else, it's a planet of hybrids or just robots.
Remember..... the real John Connor dose not actually appear in the movies. The very first John Connor Was Not fathered by Kyle Reese. Sarah names her son John because she is told that her sons name is John. In the first time line.... Sarah survives judgment day and noone knows who John's real father was. Then that John sends back Kyle Reese.... who then mates with Sarah. He was not supposed to do that. He changed the future. So that child is not from the original father. He is named John Connor but he isn't the real John. The real John never gets born because of this. It simply becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. A chosen one.... if you will. But he isn't THE John Connor. He is John in name only. This is why he struggles to be leader and wants nothing to do with it. Even skynet doesn't seam to realize that this John ISNT John. Fucking confusing..... I know. My other theory.... Sarah was pregnant before sleeping with Kyle Reese.
Exactly my point someone with a brain at last, you got people out here talking about loops when the original timeline there was no time travel yet. You cant create a loop without time travel.
I've always wanted to see the original timeline, what lead up to Skynet and how the resistance originally happened, not the meddling of the timeline that we're familiar with. As for why we never really see a movie based on the war, I think it's because it would require too much time and money (something Hollywood hates losing at stupid levels of cost) since they'd end up using a lot of CGI effects. Kind of the same reason we never get to see the war on Cybertron in the Transformer movies. Would love to actually see that instead of getting little fragments. Rather liked the intro to Dark of the Moon because we got a glimpse of it. Hell given Bay's pension for explosions, you'd think he'd love the opportunity to make a movie based on the war since it doesn't require a whole lot of writing and let's him blow everything up. Then again, he'd probably hate the fact that he can't have the American flag in every other scene since it's an alien world instead of Earth.
In the mid-90s. According to the police monitor John Connor was 10 and was born in 1985, making it 1995. However Judgement Day is depicted as 3 years away making it 1994.
If John Conner has a daughter does that mean kate Brewster is the mother who he was dissented to hook up with as she would become a major part of the resistance even though it won't have happened yet in the new movie as the T3 timeline hasn't come to fold at this point.

@@darkstarshred69
You are wrong. Simply because the first film PROVES you wrong. That is the entire point of the picture scenes and why John gave Kyle Sarah's picture, knowing he would be going back to 1984. John KNOWS that Kyle is his dad and always did. That is the whole point of the original film. There is no 2 timelines.
Exactly...you nailed it!
@@LUCKO2022 Na the original timeline theory makes more sense because there is no telling how many times John sent Kyle back in time everything in the universe has a beginning you cant just say because said loop. The loop has to start from somewhere what causes the loop that's where the original timeline comes into play.
Basically as long as someone bangs Him mom in any timelines or whatever, their will always be a John Conner.

The ideal timeline
1. T1
2. T2
3. SC Chronicles
4. T4
T3 was campy, but a fun favorite of mine nethertheless.
Didn't they already do that with salvation.
Legion.
Furlong and Bale were my favorite John Connor’s

I was always found that one part where John's mother telling him to send a certain guy to the past that would end up being his father a little creepy. "Oh hey son can you send this one guy from the future who at the time of this recording probably isn't even born yet and there is a slight probability that you two will be good friends and look at each other as brothers back to the past to bang me? Thanks, love mom."
But I think that Skynet is sending back and changing the time line so much so to win that is degrading the time line so much that it's causing it's own destruction in order to destroy humanity.
No it's not and technically she didn't she only told him if he doesn't he will never be John will never be born if he doesn't and no one to save human kind

Mr H should play the next John Connor

He's built enough to play a T-800
I can still hear johns motor bike noise in my head lol
Yeah the most fascinating thing about this franchise is who John Connor’s original father is his real father is before all the time travel stuff
Happy Birthday to John Connor, leader of the human resistance against Skynet.
Salvation was probably the best add in of the alternate timeline.
Interesting view on how Sarah might of been already pregnant before she met Kyle Reese when you mentioned she was already dating in the first movie. I mean shit happens right?! lol
This explains things.
Dude for real, she might have knocked up already! 🍿🍿
That's seems ridiculous. I mean, she was already dating someone else enough that she got pregnant by him and then sleeps with Kyle so easily?
She wasn't dating Stan she only had a date with him and bailed on her he probably heard about the murders of women named Sarah Connor and didn't want to be killed
Dude! Your voice! Accent and all, sooooo nice!

Thank you so much Mr H for yet another awesome video l loved Salvation an incredible movie 😊
I liked how salvation did an alternate version of the prison work camp you mentioned
You may have a point

*T2 WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST TERMINATOR MOVIE.......CLASSIC*
In salvation he is still younger tgen the one we saw in the T2 intro
Nope thats Rise John Connor
You're right, but that's because it took place in 2018 whereas it was 2029 when John sent Kyle back in time. So yeah, John was younger in Salvation than in the T2 intro which took place in 2029
lol, i've watched T2 a dozen times but this is the first time i see the crash dummy at 3:38
I do like the notion though that Jon's parentage may be a convenient story that becomes a prophecy by repetition.
it was never a prophecy, they just threw that word in there in salvation.
Ghost It became a prophecy by the end of terminator, when she starts down the path of purposely training John for his role in the future.
@@DrewLSsix that's not a prophecy. that's just the info she got from the future.
Its complicated but you've explained it extremely well, and I agree when are we going to get a future war film?
john has different fathers in different timelines
that would explain his transforming face
IM GONEE😭😭💀
Would anyone know who john's father was before kyle reese was?
what transforming face? when do we see his face transform? it's essentially the same person, being represented by different actors.
the movie does NOT reveal that there was another John Connor. as far as we know, the only father of John Connor has ALWAYS been Kyle Reese.
It's not your story, you can't just make shit up unless you have proof.
nobodynoname you do know he just cracked a joke right
@Zachwack, he was? yea i don''t always get that.
What if in the new movie we find out Kyle isn't & never was John's father now that would be a real twist.
Just to keep the SJW fucktards happy he would be conceived by some non binary gender fluid Mexican.
the reboot is ganna suck. unless its John's daughter then the passing of the torch is plain bs.
1:42 Why he moves like a robot? This is a very interesting detail.
The Terminator comic book series series call The Burning Earth is an excellent read. I would suggest reading it. The art is done by Alex Ross and a story is stellar
Great vid bud 🤘
@@jcIIXVIIIVII
Try imagining what the actual "original" timeline was.
I own several books on John Connor. He’s a very important person

You left out the "Terminator :The Sarah Connor Chronicles" show, which is better than T3, Salvation, and Genesis.
I did that on purpose
@@MrHReviews Hopefully Sarah Connor Chronicles is covered in a later video. Personally I really enjoyed the series's, the cliffhanger at the end of (sadly) season 2 really threw the series's and the franchise into uncharted territory. Shame this wasn't carried on for future movie's.
The series was riding on the success of T4 before a possible season 3 continuation.
Please ...
A Prequel Starring John, & Kyle would make more sense, & Call it Future War(AKA Salvation Done Right).
I consider the ending where John Connor is a US Senator to be the true ending
I not. Skynet's death is inacceptable.

In T3 the T850 told john "I killed u"
We did see that in salvation, only thing that stopped that was the fact marcus gave john his heart and of course that T850 wasnt reprogrammed by kate and sent back

And a moviel, based on Skynet's sight. How he become self aware, what he feels and so on. Spotlight always only at humans is boring.
Hey great video. Can you do an update video before the new movie comes out?
Sounds dumb.
The idea of infinite time loops is stupid.

If it remained clunky metal terminators, I could see a slim chance of humanity coming back but once you go micro/nano tech, even liquid form, they should / could be anything and distinctly able to wipe out humanity. Do a history of Kyle Reese
Salvation I consider JC the leader, as in, the Hero... the General sent his best man obviously to all the points of friction
Terminator 1, Terminator 2, that is all.
Not true. Kyle was always johns father. It was a time loop in the first film.
Also before the first film there had to be a timeline where time travel had not been used yet.
What terminator film is @5:47
What time does Terminater 2 take place
In the mid-90s.
According to the police monitor John Connor was 10 and was born in 1985, making it 1995. However Judgement Day is depicted as 3 years away making it 1994.
I get the feeling studios dont want to risk all the expense a future war scene/film would come to incase it bombs at the cinema.
If John Conner has a daughter does that mean kate Brewster is the mother who he was dissented to hook up with as she would become a major part of the resistance even though it won't have happened yet in the new movie as the T3 timeline hasn't come to fold at this point.
Screw the new terminator movie. It is full of politics and over used female feminism empowerment. It is obvious why they made everyone female. Why Connor is dead in the very beginning and Arnold is a domesticated husband. They want to change every male movie to female with lazy writing.
Missed opportunity to call t800 in t2 “Uncle Tom”
