"Rosebud". That's the only clue I'll give you guys.
@@themixedbag3054_Citizen Kane,_ right?

Terminator 2, it is the movie where it all should have ended: with the T-800's heroic sacrifice and the unknown future full of hope.
Also, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, with the heroes riding towards the sunset.
A few other ones:
-Apollo 13
-Star Trek: First Contact
-2010: The Year We Make Contact
-V For Vendetta
-The Martian
-Honey, I Shrunk The Kids
-Schindler's List
-Independence Day
-Inglorious Bastards
-First Man
“I hope I can make it across the border.
I hope to see my friend and shake his hand.
I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams...
I hope.”
For the second time in my life, I'm guilty of committing a crime, parole violation. I don't they throw up any road blocks, not for an old crook like me.
@@D.L3GCan you believe the "reunion" scene was actually a reshoot? The film originally ended on that line by Red and fading out with him still on the bus, but audiences at pre-screenings HATED the ending being left open like that, so they filmed the reunion 😢
Don't make me ugly cry! I LOVE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION!😭
The shawshank redemption ending was perfect ❤❤❤
I can watch it over and over and it never fails to make me smile. Best film ever for me.
One of my favorites as well. I agree
What about Elmo Blatch?
@@0532MOET Did you give him shit?😂
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade - The Heroes riding off into the sunset was The Perfect Ending to The Indiana Jones Trilogy.
I totally agree. I really don’t acknowledge much besides that ending.
Absolutely! This is where it all should have ended.
Thank goodness they didn't decide to make any other movies after those 3.
I'd say the ending of Signs is pretty satisfying with how everything came together to perform its purpose, and the final shot of Graham putting on his coat presumably to leave for a sermon, having regained his faith to the sound of Bo and Morgan laughing in the background.
Oh, that's a good one that definitely belongs on this list.
The princess brides ending wasn’t perfect because of the kiss. It’s perfect because the grandson asked his grandpa if he can come over and read it again tomorrow, and the grandpa replies with “as you wish”, that was established earlier that what it really means is I love you. So it was a special way to say I love you to his grandson.
Just a bit of trivia - Frank Darabont's original screenplay had the movie ending with the bus traveling down the road, like the ending of King's novella. But the studio, in one of the few instances of making the right call, told him the audience needed to see Andy and Red meeting at the end. In a sense, they were owed that ending. Andy and Red embracing on the beach was absolutely the correct call.
The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King had one of the most heartwarming endings in cinema history. How dare you forget that one! 😭
Which one? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
They took a page out of Shari Lewis’s playbook: it was the ending that never ended!
Sorry! Maybe if we get a bigger list!
Shawshank redemption is the greatest movie that had the best ending
“Wanna have a catch?” A line delivered so well and the emotion is so relatable
Its the best.
"The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" had like the most beautiful movie ending ever!
5 endings, live it anyway. 😂
It is a nice ending, but still sad how Frodo, Gandalf, Bilbo, Elrond, and Galadriel leave, it's a real tearjerker. I think it's very hard NOT to cry when Gandalf, Bilbo, Elrond, and Galadriel are leaving, but probably impossible to not cry when Frodo leaves, and people will probably cry alongside Sam, Merry, and Pippin. I don't think I can hold my tears back when that happens. It's a real bittersweet ending.
Which one?
I was just thinking this, one of the best, most complete endings in my opinion. It fully finishes the story yet still implies that even though that particular saga is over, the character’s lives aren’t. Also just to put this out there, Sam’s character arc throughout the series is one of the best for any character in any series ever. He is the best definition of a hero, even moreso than Frodo in my opinion.
@@gamleskalle1Well, if you think about it, LotR:RotK had quite a lot to wrap up, which couldn't be done in just one scene.
Truman’s “In case I don’t see you, good afternoon, good evening, and good night” line is my favorite final line in any movie. Truly was the perfect way to end that movie. 👏🏾
Even though I think it's great that the town of Bedford Falls helped George Bailey out by giving him the money his company needed, it still angered me that Mr. Potter got away with the money that Uncle Billy accidentally gave him. I liked the Saturday Night Live sketch for what was called the Lost Ending to the movie. What happened in that video was that Uncle Billy remembered what happened to the money he lost that he meant to deposit in the bank, and found out that Mr. Potter ended up depositing it. Enraged, George and the other people of Bedford Falls attack Mr. Potter for revenge for keeping the money from them. I thought it was really funny, and I loved how Mr. Potter got what he deserved for his crime.
George: “Well what are we waiting for… let’s go get him!”😂
*"Gone With the Wind",* Katie Scarlett O'Hara _never_ gives up!
*"Sunset Boulevard",* Joe Gillis "gets" his mansion and swimming pool and Norma Desmond finally "returns" to fame.
12 Angry Men is my favorite movie of all time. If you haven't had the chance, do yourself a favor and watch it. Perfection!!
Good as a movie but I kind of think from an actual legal perspective it’s kind of bubkis
When Truman went off to the unknown, it made me smile because he escaped his TV life. 🎉
Except where could he go, always saddened me that he was so recognisable that he had nowhere to hide. 😢
I'd 1 million% say the Star Wars return of the Jedi ending had the best ending, out of any movie ever made. The look of Anakin's freed self, Luke being happy with his friends, Han accepting he needs people and everyone together and celebrating their freedom from the empire makes me tear up every time.
Even the original Star Wars, with the medal presentation and celebration of the triumph over the Empire is nicely wrapped up. A sequel was not planned at the time so as an ending it's fitting.
Forest Gump was a great ending
I agree with you. When it comes to it, its been a while since I seen that.
Fr
Seeing Jules play the role of the shepherd in the valley of darkness when we return to the diner robbery is a textbook example of a story coming full circle.
Holy grails cop out ending😂
Oceans 11. The ending was about as perfect as you get. I can hardly ever leave Vegas anymore without playing Debussy in my headphones.
And the Godfather. That was literally wrapping EVERYTHING up before the end.
I thought The Dark Knight did a perfect job of wrapping everything up. With Batman riding off with the police chasing after him and Gordon's closing monologue. Perfect! It was the only midnight showing I've been to that received a standing ovation.
A few other ones:
-Apollo 13
-Star Trek: First Contact
-2010: The Year We Make Contact
-V For Vendetta
-The Martian
-Honey, I Shrunk The Kids
-Schindler's List
-Independence Day
-Inglorious Bastards
-First Man
Honestly, "12 Angry Men" is one of the most compelling movie stories anyone will ever see. From the noir backdrop to the script to the actors and their portrayals, one would be hard-pressed to find a better drama. Cheers....
Return of the Jedi should be on here. Vader’s redemption and sacrifice, the emperor killed once and for all with peace being restored to the galaxy
What about Terminator 2 and Aliens?. They ended things perfectly too.
The end of the "Back to the Future" trilogy.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! Amazing set of great films..!! 😁
Knives Out has a great ending as the case is solved, the culprit arrested and Ana's Marta after all she went through gets to enjoy all she earned due to her hard work and good kind nature.
“Roads? Where we are going we don’t need roads.”
Not WatchMojo completely missing the point of The Princess Bride. The perfect kiss was the end of the story. But the end of the movie was the final "as you wish" from the grandfather to his grandson. THAT was the ending that wrapped everything up perfectly. That was the true love story.
And a real shame that many movies that come out today don't have satisfying outcomes like this anymore, especially sequels, reboots, franchises, etc. They just don't know how to end them properly anymore. The ending to a movie is one of the most important elements of a movie. It usually determines whether or not you wanna see it again and again if so.
the Shawshank Redemption ending gives me ghoosbump in a good way
"THE WIZARD OF OZ" "There's no place like home"
My favorite movie ending is A Dog's Purpose.
I’ve only seen The Truman Show once and it was a very weird movie to see but the ending was truly awesome
Unforgiven has one of the best endings ever
The Austrian movie "Indien" had a great ending that wrapped up the entire movie perfectly.
Man…I cry every time I see the ending of It’s A Wonderful Life.
Primal Fear with Richard Gere and Edward Norton was damn good as well. The bridge on the river kwai was a great film. As was Citizen Kane.
I love that at the end of The Deathly Hallows they play the music from the original movie. The same music that plays at the end of the first movie. It really such a perfect full circle ending
Welcome upbeat offering. Thank you.
The Shawshank Redemption I saw this movie in the 90s , when I was a teenager. I never thought this movie would be my favorite movie of all time
Lovethis yt channel.
Terminator 2 should get a mention..
Bicentennial Man ends at the end. Perfect.
That movie is one of the few that can make this old man cry with the poignancy of the ending. Even though he doesn't see it, Andrew wins his case. And it therefore explores the meaning of the word "human" from a different viewpoint. Robin Williams so frequently played a comic or outright crazy person - but he could also handle dramatic roles when needed. And for Bicentennial Man, he did a little bit of both. R.I.P., Robin.
Dr Strangelove wrapped everything up perfectly.
Shawshank Redemption and The Truman Show ending are so satisfying
Rumors Deathly Hollows Part 3, Harry is still saying his children's names before leaving the station
"Why he chose to do it on enchilada night, I'll never know."
The one scene I remember from 12 Angry Men (saw it once, many years ago), was Henry Fonda’s character pulling the switchblade from his pocket and sticking it in the jury room table next to its ‘one of a kind’ twin.
North by northwest. In the train carriage we learn that the bad guys are vanquished, and Cary Grant has married Eva Marie Saint, in 11 seconds.
Everything's wasn't wrapped up perfectly, Elmo Blatch still got away with it!!
Spielberg’s the color purple is another beautiful example
I cry every time I watch the ending of the Shawshank Redemption. It reminds me to hang on to hope, which isn’t my natural state, sadly.
This one might be pushing a bit, but...CITIZEN KANE, when WE learn the identity of Rosebud but the guy who was doing the interviews DOESN'T.
The Usual Suspects not even an honourable mention
What about the 1984 movie "Starman" with Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen?
Shawshank’s ending is so good!! How good it is, I remember when TBS used to broadcast it early in the morning during weekdays and if a was watching it before going to work usually arrived couple minutes late, alway blame it on traffic!!
Very nice endings😊ET,Casablanca,Harry Potter and Deadly Hollows, and aftermath😊It's a Wonderful Life. Shawshank redemption. It's wonderful. Deserving number 1. They have reunion😊 I agree with comments Indiana Jones and Last Crusade perfect ending too. Heroes riding to sunset. On to new adventures! Great video.
Steel Magnolias.has a perfect wrap up of ending with new life at Easter when the movie also began with a new beginning the previous Easter.
it gets me every time!!! It was more than one year though. jack junior was about 3.
For me the definition of a perfectly wrapped up ending is the story arch of A Perfect World.
I like THE TRUMAN SHOW and the honorable mention of GROUNDHOG DAY. I also love PULP FICTION, E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL, the HARRY POTTER franchise, and THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.
If I made THE TRUMAN SHOW, the ending would’ve had Truman break down in tears while trying to break through the wall with the audience and some of the crew members watching in sadness and disbelief then have Truman in tears while talking to Kristof, say his iconic line and bow with a smile before leaving, and possibly reunite Truman with Lauren. Also, instead of having dramatic music wrap up the movie in the end credits, it would have beautiful music and/or an original song.
I feel like Lucky Number Slevin's ending should have been on this list. You get the tiniest of clues of things here and there and then one moment at the end makes _everything_ click.
Another Moegna Freeman mocie, Driving Miss Daisy. It's a bit sad of an ending, but it wraps everything up and shows the growth of the characters.
The more you think about it, the more you realize that Truman's life after leaving the dome will be absolutely horrific.
The Shawshank Redemption is my favorite movie, also agree with the comments about LOTR: Return of the King. But I would like to add one of Tim Burton most underrated movies to the list "Big Fish" My Dad is similar to Ed Bloom and his stories with me loving them as a child, embarrassed as a teenager and young adult, and appreciate them as a grownup, it's an ending that always seemed perfect to me.
The evening after Pulp Fiction made its network TV debut in the UK, I was in a pub and overheard a conversation:
“Did you see that Pulp Fiction last night - load of rubbish”
“I know, I couldn’t make head nor tail of it, we changed channel long before the end”
“Yeah, so did we!”
The end of the Usual Suspects… perfectly wrapped up the whole movie
How about a video on Movies with Ambiguous Endings that leave open as many questions as they answer?
The one that comes to mind is Being There, where Chance the Gardner (Peter Sellers) walks across water. After seeing that movie in college, my friends and I spent several days debating on the meaning of the ending.
I think the shawshank reduction is a great movie because it was based on a great short story. The ending is wonderful and perfect. And that's why I love stephen king. I think the story is one of the most perfect ever. It's well constructed.
And emotionally satisfying. It's a great movie and great short story. Great to experience when you're feeling a little hopeless.. It reminds you that there really are miracles in life.
The Sixth Sense
(1999) M. Night Shyamalan.
The original “Color Purple”
Secondhand Lions has a great ending where we learn that the Uncle's story was true and that they really did live amazing lives.
The problem is, movies are way better than the real world ever could be, tbh.
That's why we watch them.
Billy Jack makes me cry at the end.
The Harry Potter Epilogue makes me cry every single time
YES!
Pee-wee’s Big Adventure had a perfect ending. It ended with Pee-wee at a drive-in theater at the premiere of his movie of the same name. His arch-nemesis Frances boastfully admits to stealing Pee-wee’s beloved bike in order to take credit for Pee-wee’s new fame, but he ends up being launched in the air by Pee-wee’s bike. Pee-wee gives out snacks to the people who he had met during his adventure. Dottie asks if Pee-wee is going to watch the movie, in which Pee-wee replies, “I don’t have to see it, Dottie. I lived it.” Then, the final scene is Pee-wee and Dottie riding their bikes together while the movie plays.
My favorite ending is Cobb returning home in Inception.
Jules and Vincent may be the best move duo OAT
The ending of The Shawshank Redemption is what made it my mom's favorite movie. Apparently, in theaters, the movie went to black as the bus drives away, then fades in again when Red is on the beach, reuniting with Andy. Ever since then, she had a rule: even if the movie is great, if it doesn't stick the ending, the movie is a piece of shit.
Because the scenes are out of order. I don’t think Pulp Fiction. Really wraps up much of anything
What about The clockwork orange? And Robocop or The iron Giant?
Terminator 2.
This is where it all should have ended - with the heroic sacrifice of the T-800, thus cutting ties with the Judgement Day future and the hope that all will be fine.
They forgot about the part of Truman show where as soon as the transmission stops, everyone stops giving af altogether and moves on. The whole movie was a parody of consumerism
ET made those poor kids ride a long time, almost getting caught before finally lifting them into the air
I just realized that this year marks the 30th anniversary of The Shawshank Redemption.
Also pulp fiction
@@dashtoroya2838 And Forest Gump
"The Princess Bride" should be on almost every movie list, lol. Bill Goldman adapted his own novel and wrapped up the screenplay beautifully. The novel ends with everything sorta falling apart, as a joke. (He said that adapting Stephen King's "Misery" was much easier, because it's a lot easier to chop someone else's words. Such a funny and wise man.)
Some of these movies shouldn’t count because the movie crew did not create the endings: the original book authors did
The conclusion of the dark knight rises is god tier
Aliens are supposed to be so advanced, but they forgot to invent clothes.
Another movie that I think has a perfect ending is the end of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Really the ending of Return of the King. The Ring has been destroyed, Aragorn has finally accepted his role as king and gets to marry Arwen, the Hobbits all go back to the Shire and live their own lives except Frodo who gets to have peace after all the craziness he’s lived through. Saruman and Sauron are destroyed. To me it’s the most perfect ending of any movie
What about Mrs. Doubtfire? It ended with the dad finally being able to spend time with his children and Mrs. Doubtfire providing a message of hope to children from broken homes.
My only objection is that you cut off the last line of The Truman Show! While it doesn't play into the emotional climax of Truman leaving the show, it really drives home the point of the movie- perfectly demonstrating the fickleness of the audience, and showing that all this emotional trauma and everything they put Truman through was all just for the sake of... something to watch. Something that, once it's over, immediately gets replaced with whatever else is on. That is a "chef's kiss" of a ending!
I have always thought that "Showgirls" had an ending that wrapped up everything perfectly.
Kristi Noem: I thought "Cricket" had a perfect ending.
What... too soon?
I loved Kill bills ending
"The Truman Show" and "The Shawshank Redemption" are arguably the two greatest Hollywood movies not to win for Best Picture.
Shawshank is a perfect movie. 🥰
