  • This is just something I thought would be fun to do on the Tenere 700. I list the reasons why I ended up choosing this exhaust. This was followed by a sound comparison with the DbKiller installed and removed. I had a surprising performance increase with the DbKiller removed. I have had poor fuel mileage on my bike in the past, I average 40mpg where others are in the 50's I noticed I was up to 47mpg on the way home from this experiment. Perhaps my factory exhaust was an overly restrictive defect? I'll be curious to see where my mileage settles out.

I think you just had the end cap and no DB Killer. Mine from Camel ADV was a long baffle of about 3 inches plus that cap. Thought it sounded ok with it in (mine was basically same as stock with it in). It's been a great exhaust otherwise, just not loud enough.

Yes, you're correct. I bought it used and it didn't have the other parts in it. I discovered this after I a made the video. There's not a lot of info out on it. I put the end cap back in but kept having it come loose and cause issues. So, now it is affixed to the exhaust with red Permatex silicone. I would have just left it out but I was starting to get mud inside of the muffler.

Was there any clearance issue's with the Tusk pannier rack? Did you have to modify anything to get the pipe and muffler to fit? (Besides cutting the exhaust hanger)

No, the rally bend is even advertised as Tusk pannier compatible. No issues.
