i came here to say that.... lol seriously-- ANY of the video versions of Rock Lobster... i'm pretty sure the Muppet Show even did a cover of it w/ members of the band
"Quiche Lorraine", "Channel Z", "Cosmic Thing", "Roam", "Rock Lobster", "Private Idaho", "Is That You Mo-Dean" That last one is my personal favorite of theirs.
Their music was/is fun, entertaining and Catchy as Heck. you can't go wrong listening to them. (fun fact they had a cameo in The live action movie of "The Flintstones")
Tin Roof Rusted! Classic 80s dance tune. I was lucky enough to see them live in concert for this tour. Dancing all over. 'Roam' was the follow up hit and you might know it but the song u need to react to by them is 'Rock Lobster' it will blow Lulu's mind.
Along with The Black Crowes and others. My sister-in-law is from Rome GA and she got to see the "Athens Invasion" bands when they were just starting out playing small clubs. Even got to know a few members.
This is one of those good songs that they play so many times on the radio, that after a few weeks, and a few hundred times, you are glad you can come back to it years later for nostalgia. Good song that was overplayed on radio and MTV.
And the WINNER of the "Groove Award" 🎉DONNA😅 And Lulu (Bless her heart) was on point with the vocals like a terrier with a rat emerging from a barn 😅! One of those tunes you just can't help smiling at and joining in😊
The B-52s, like the Talking Heads, weren't just a music group, they were performance artists. In addition to other suggestions, one of my favorites by them is "Cosmic Thing".
The kings of performance artists were the TUBES. I saw them at the Greek theater in L. A. In 1975. We went down there the night of the concert to get tickets. We got third row center for $ 7.50 a ticket. I really didn't know what to expect. Because back then, there only big hit was " White Punks On Dope". For every song they performed. They all came out in costumes and acted out every song. It was way different. But great. Their encore, which was white punks on dope. Their lead singer came out dressed as a qae lude. They put on a great performance. And it was a very fun concert. We were all tripping, if you know what I mean. So that made it extra fun.
Does anybody remember 'Rock Pop Nights' in Germany in the early 80's? I believe it was in Dortmund where I saw them there, 82? 83? Best for the crowd by far was 'Planet Claire'. Hazy memory of the singer being stabbed with a giant cigarette also. The girls sang later with R.E.M. on 'Shiny Happy People'
B-52's were one of my favorite bands in the late 70's and early 80's when I was in College. I never found it until years later that half of them were gay, but I couldn't have cared less. They were so much fun to listen to! Great Band!!!
How nice that for a change, Lulu knew it first; before the video played. Kudos to you. For those in the Catskills: who remembers when Kate Pierson owned the little hotel outside of Phoenicia? I was working at Hunter Mountain back then when they still had, "Mountain Jam."
"Bathtub Gin" is also a song by the band Phish. More goodies from The B-52's: "Private Idaho", "Rock Lobster", and "Roam". You could not walk down the street, or through a dorm in the early 80's, and NOT hear B-52's coming from somewhere.
I love that you all got into the dancing, Lulu thanks for the great comments on the outfits. If you are looking for another song from this very album try either Roam or Deadbeat Club.
There are so many. Their earlier stuff is very different from their later years. Favorite track is Give Me Back My Man. Rock Lobster and Private Idaho are early favorites. Later years favorite track would be Roam.
Is there anyone out there who remembers the B-52's appearance in the 1994 live action Flintstones movie with John Goodman as Fred Flintstone? They were called the BC-52's and performed a song called "The Bedrock Twitch" in the dance club.
B-52 refers to the bee hive type hairstyle of the 1960s that was very popular. B-52 is also the iconic air force bomber that was first introduced in 1957 and is still in use today. 😊
"Deadbeat Club" from the same album as this song was from. The song and video are both a kind of biographical look at what it was like for this band when they were kids looking to have fun in Athens,GA. Michael Stipe, lead singer for REM (also from Athens) makes a cameo. "We were wild girls, walking down the street..."
Great summer driving album perfect I played this album driving to Brighton southern England on holiday with my mates dancing on beach ❤😅😅 the good old days
if you haven't already reacted to R.E.M and the song "Shiny Happy People", the lady with the beehive hair is a guest on that particular song, which has a somewhat similar vibe to this one, I think!
A song we all danced to because of the beat. Then, one day I listened to the lyrics, closely. The song took on a different, more poignant reasoning. 'Tin roof rusted' means a whole lot.
you can't really call the b-52s a "comedy" band but they're very satirical. this is a really good song from later in their career. their first album really kicks butt with songs like "planet claire," "52 girls," "dance this mess around" and "rock lobster" all from side one. the first and last songs on that list are definately must-hears. thanks for the video.
B52s are a lot of fun and always has been. They have also been around for a long time ! Defo take a listen to Roam and Rock Lobster for more fun from them.
Deadbeat Club, Channel Z, and Roam are three other hits off of their "Cosmic Thing" album that also features "Love Shack." (Deadbeat Club is, in my opinion, the best song from the album.)
I have heard of the band It wasn't my thing back in the day I have not heard of the song But I did kind of dig it today, for some reason lol nice reaction Keep up the good work 3G 👍🏼🎯💯🔥✌🏼
This so 80's it hurts. LOL The tall black 'chic' is actually RuPaul. We didn't have a Love Shack, but one of my best friends had a hunting cabin we called the Sugar Shack.
"You're livin' in your own Private Idaho Livin' in your own Private Idaho Underground like a wild potato" I had their second album, Wild Planet, and it was awesome. You should find Quiche Lorraine for LuLu. It is about a dog, Quiche la Poodle. It was debatable who had the best two-woman harmony at the time, the B-52's or ABBA.
Their song Rock Lobster will blow your minds…
I like Private Idaho.
You beat me to it. I was going to suggest Rock Lobster.
i came here to say that.... lol
seriously-- ANY of the video versions of Rock Lobster... i'm pretty sure the Muppet Show even did a cover of it w/ members of the band
There wasn't a high school dance or prom that I attended that didn't play that song!
'DOWN, DOWN, DOWN"
Yeah I second the motion that you should check out the lobster
The one B52's song that everyone should recognize is 'Rock Lobster'!!!
B-52s "Roam" from the same album as "Love Shack." My personal favorite of all their hits.
a beauti song
YES. That album brought it all together.
@@artmorris8899 Yep, another good one. Also like The Deadbeat Club.
" The love shack has a love shack duck, It's a little old place where you can quack together "🎶
Such a fun band back then. Yeah you gotta do Rock Lobster, it's crazy lol.
Shiny Happy People by REM has Kate from the B 52’s featured. Probably blow your minds 😂
Rock Lobster , Planet Claire , 6060-842 , Dance This Mess Around , My Own Private Idaho , are some other songs you should check out

Mesopotamia
"Private Idaho " rocks!😎❤🤙
This is one of those good songs that they play so many times on the radio, that after a few weeks, and a few hundred times, you are glad you can come back to it years later for nostalgia. Good song that was overplayed on radio and MTV.

Lulu is a keeper.

So that made it extra fun.
This song is sure to bring everyone to the dance floor! Their styles have always been fun and still rock…😽💋🎶💕
I've seen them live 5 times, wonderful band. They have a lot of great songs, not just the hits.
Does anybody remember 'Rock Pop Nights' in Germany in the early 80's? I believe it was in Dortmund where I saw them there, 82? 83? Best for the crowd by far was 'Planet Claire'. Hazy memory of the singer being stabbed with a giant cigarette also.
The girls sang later with R.E.M. on 'Shiny Happy People'
Roam is a great upbeat song.
A lots more...
If you were lost in this song just wait until you hear Rock Lobster !!
Fun Fact: The tall black woman with the huge afro is a pre-fame RuPaul.
I saw them around the 90's or early 00's at the then named Starplex in Fair Park Dallas, TX. Good show!
Thanks for acknowledging my comment. I'm a huge B-52's fan pre "Love Shack". Though you may not hear it directly in my originals, it is in there.
B-52's were one of my favorite bands in the late 70's and early 80's when I was in College. I never found it until years later that half of them were gay, but I couldn't have cared less. They were so much fun to listen to! Great Band!!!
Filled the dance floor back in the day, and the tall black woman with the afro is RuPaul.
How nice that for a change, Lulu knew it first; before the video played. Kudos to you.
For those in the Catskills: who remembers when Kate Pierson owned the little hotel outside of Phoenicia? I was working at Hunter Mountain back then when they still had, "Mountain Jam."
Now you've done this I'd LOVE to see your reaction to their completely surreal " Rock Lobster " 🤣 - failing that " Cosmic Thing "
Just listen and groove. Those girl singers really bring it! And they had OTHER hits. Ok, mom?
Guess what Lulu, I also got to see The B52’s at the LA County Fair a few years ago, along with Berlin, they were awesome
Shaquille O'Neal has commented that he can't end letters with "Love, Shaq" because of this song.
Guys! Do the studio version with the official video. It's so much fun!
"Bathtub Gin" is also a song by the band Phish. More goodies from The B-52's: "Private Idaho", "Rock Lobster", and "Roam". You could not walk down the street, or through a dorm in the early 80's, and NOT hear B-52's coming from somewhere.

the lady in the tight white outfit and black wig is none other than a very young rupaul!!
“I love that goat and that duck!” LOL, alright Lulu! 😄
Oh I love the B-52! If you get a chance check out "Roam", "Rock Lobster", "Planet Claire" and "Private Idaho". Love your reactions ladies!
They had a number of big hits, as others have said, Rock Lobster asked Roam. One of my favorites is "Quiche Lorraine".
B-52 refers to the bee hive type hairstyle of the 1960s that was very popular. B-52 is also the iconic air force bomber that was first introduced in 1957 and is still in use today. 😊

LOTS of great tunes from the 52s! Checkout: Private Idaho, Rock Lobster, 52 Girls, Planet Claire, Is That You Mo-Dean.
Great summer driving album perfect I played this album driving to Brighton southern England on holiday with my mates dancing on beach ❤😅😅 the good old days
You gotta move to this one - used to fill the dance floor
The lyrics are very special... 😂
Good ol times... 😉
if you haven't already reacted to R.E.M and the song "Shiny Happy People", the lady with the beehive hair is a guest on that particular song, which has a somewhat similar vibe to this one, I think!
Another song by them is Private Idaho.
B-52 refers the to the 1960's hairstyle, not the strategic bomber. Ditto earlier comments about ''Rock Lobster'
Private Idaho
Love This Song Takes Me Back To The 90's Check Out Rock Lobster Also From B-52's 👍👏🥰
A song we all danced to because of the beat. Then, one day I listened to the lyrics, closely. The song took on a different, more poignant reasoning. 'Tin roof rusted' means a whole lot.
I used to play this as my first song on my first set on the jukebox at my favorite biker bar.
Wow, I'm surprised that Donna didn't hear this before! It's been out for quite a while, and it's a real toe tapper! Thanks ladies, I enjoyed this!
YOU 3 ROCK DONNA THANKS FOR TEACHING YOUR KIDS DIFFERENT SONGS GOOD OLDIES ARE THE BEST WE HAVE TO PLAY THEM BEFOR THERE GONE
Thanks
There is more there than meets the eye!
These guys were huge in the 80s with this song and rock lobster...
you can't really call the b-52s a "comedy" band but they're very satirical. this is a really good song from later in their career. their first album really kicks butt with songs like "planet claire," "52 girls," "dance this mess around" and "rock lobster" all from side one. the first and last songs on that list are definately must-hears. thanks for the video.

One album I played over and over..
The first 3 albums are great ❤👍
if you haven't already-- check out Shiny Happy People (duet w/ B-52's vocalist and REM)
ROCK LOBSTER 🪨 🦞 🎸🎶
I just saw them two nights ago in Vegas. They were great!
Awesome
SO many good funny excellent songs
the girls can SING!
I have heard of the band
It wasn't my thing back in the day
I have not heard of the song
But I did kind of dig it today, for some reason lol nice reaction
Keep up the good work 3G
👍🏼🎯💯🔥✌🏼
I owned a 65 Chrysler Imperial but not the convertible, but it really was as big as a whale. Wish I'd kept it.
Poison - 'Something To Believe In'
Private Idaho was awesome!
Private Idaho and Roam are both great songs.
That is just a party that you’d want to be at! Shake it and get down!
Planet Claire is a good new wave song from late 70s
"Tin Roof Rusted" slang for Pregnant.
The B52s were very popular, especially in the 80s. Other big ones by them are: Rock Lobster, Roam, and Private Idaho.
This so 80's it hurts. LOL The tall black 'chic' is actually RuPaul. We didn't have a Love Shack, but one of my best friends had a hunting cabin we called the Sugar Shack.
Love shack baby!
All right my lovely ladies.... This song is pretty popular and the band is cool as well 😎🤘🏻
The only band on this side of the Atlantic with that early 60s retro feel that I can think of, is The Rezillos. 👌
The Black girl is RuPaul his first gig .... hahaha
ROCK 🦞 LOBSTER!!!
This song is such a fun song really great pic
The ultimate feel good song
"Roam" Thank you ladies!
A B-52 is a Bomber plane made by Boing from the late 50s and is still in use today. That's what the Band is named after.
Not really, B-52 is the name of the combs used from the girls (in this video only from the blonde one, Cindy Wilson).
I still view this as some of their "newer" music... hahahha
I gotta vote for "Roam", as the next B-52's song y'all check out!
Oh, and you need to look into "Camel Walk", by Southern Culture On the Skids!!
Roam is another great song.
New wave was a very fun genre of music in the 80’s
I miss Ricky... X
This was punk/new wave, early MTV, if you had MTV you saw this everyday1980s
" Song For A Future Generation" by The B52s would be a perfect song to react to given the name of your channel!
Have you done Deelite - Groove is in the Heart?
"You're livin' in your own Private Idaho
Livin' in your own Private Idaho
Underground like a wild potato"
I had their second album, Wild Planet, and it was awesome. You should find Quiche Lorraine for LuLu. It is about a dog, Quiche la Poodle.
It was debatable who had the best two-woman harmony at the time, the B-52's or ABBA.
Here are a few more suggestions for The B'52s Planet Claire, Give Me Back My Man, Song For a Future Generation, Deadbeat Club and Channel Z.
The bass player is the one in the tub.
Check out the Cleverleys version of Love Shack you'll love it!
Donna: 🤔🤔🧐🧐Mmmm SOUND SUSPICIOUS TO ME 😂😂😂😂
Keep it up girls
You are so funny 😆😆😆🤣🤣
Rock Lobster is a must see
Private Idaho, Planet Clare, Rock lobster to name a few
