This made me laugh more than a few times.. The 23rd was my Birthday! I tried to work but had this same attitude. Went to get myself a Sushi lunch at a favorite place, just so happens it was the Owners Birthday too. He gave me a $20 lunch free! Went home, enjoyed my meal and gave up for the day.

I am a dasher too and I swear the orders are getting worse. DD needs up our base pay to make it worth it especially with gas prices.

I know exactly how you feel. I’m stuck in a rotten rut that makes life feel worthless, stuck at a job I hate where the things customers do drives me nuts…then I find out my son is making a ton load of money from a new pay increase he just got. I’m really happy for him and I hope he is wise with his money, but part of me feels a little jealous cuz I wish I could have that job too. I need the money to get things paid off and it’s 4 10s so he always has a 3 day weekend.
I think that the current overtime situation is amazing and a great chance to pay off debt and save, but why don't you just consider moving to a better apartment for the time being?

I really think that dd can hear you. Sometimes I say if I don't get an order soon I'm quitting early then I get an order.😂 I skip Aldi whenever I can. I can never find a thing in that store with the way its laid out.
My last shift my AR went from 80 to 72...so many shit orders!!
No Publix here yes it sucks. Even a momma needs comfort food when stressed out...i will check Publix out next spring when it hits ky. Been hitting 25.00 an hour lately for a small town that's crazy money. Loving the sunset ty for sharing it with us

I use IC and UE as a way to supplement my current income. No way could I rely on the gig work for my only income.

If you can make more money at your normal job you should do that and not Dash. Dashing is hard on your car and gas where I am at is $4.80 a gallon. Overtime yields way more money.
There’s a Publix in North Carolina, never eaten there, but I’ve heard people who do say it’s pretty good
If it makes you feel better, I’m at 16%. Tire issues a cold a couple weeks ago blah blah blah. Definitely some more orders I would’ve taken if I wasn’t afraid my wheel 🛞 would fly off (or the tire go totally flat anyway) and I had to wait for my mechanic appointment… Since my son is lending me the money, I had to wait till he was around. That’s what it has come to. I’m sure he would definitely trade places with your kids!
I mean, you wouldn’t have the debt you have now, if you hadn’t protected your credit through life. Although I can say just keep doing the best you can and that’s definitely true…. I vote for them making you a co- manager. If you can run things while they’re away, they can at least give you a good raise. I’m sure they charge the clients enough. Or maybe they want to do some more of the work.
Don’t get yourself fired, but maybe they can listen to a little bit a reason? It never hurts to ask politely.
Both Uber and Doordash have been horrendous all week so far....lots of broke folks after the first of the month here near Orlando.
How old is your daughter? Maybe when she’s done studying -if she still is- and has a really good secure job and or is engaged or married to a dude with the same… you guys can get a mother-daughter house where it’s like two separate apartments. but I mean it’s a house it’s just got two separate entrances and a second kitchen and stuff. Sometimes it’s a bilevel somebody just made into that way. That could considerably bring down some of the bills for each. But if you’re trying to do it all right now no great ideas. Rent is crazy. Buying is crazy. And it’s been for a while so like everybody is trying at the same time. That’s what it seems like anyway. Good luck, but I’ll be watching so I will see you when it happens! 😊

I was happy that you’re only a week behind instead of a month behind for a minute and I laughed at the beginning, when you said there’s gonna be a lot of cussing on this one, 😂 (My dad has said in the past, although not lately that I talk like a sailor actually, he said something about the trailer park, but it’s not even like him, and I don’t think he realized what he was saying. Besides, we grew up in a condo in a mansion. 😂) and about five minutes In and I’m like in tears almost- but I feel your pain! and I appreciate your honesty! Vent anytime. I think we all do. And you’re definitely one of the least lazy people I know so anytime.
