Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

As a much older woman who has renovated a few homes in Colorado and California USA, I give you much credit for preserving abandoned buildings, returning them to their original footprints and essence using traditional and proven techniques to keep the structure true to its lasting beauty and intent. Bravo in so many ways. You have regenerated the fertility and encouraged the agricultural aspect of this property and have made a new start for this beautif land. Furnando’s stories are a riot😄. Had goats for 30 yrs and no goats don’t eat everything. I’m so jealous. Used to live on only 5 acres but no super close neighbors just miss the birds etc. Everything there is beautiful.
Not many sellers would go to the lengths you guys have to make the homestead ready for new owners. You always do everything to the very best you can and it's fantastic❤❤❤

Furrnado is quite the tour guide😂
As a Realtor of 43 years I must say disposal of discards is a shock to me. Here in the US that is a No No and at the very least full disclosure to buyers is necessary. It's often not the best for the environment but certainly not Good for new owners. Please make sure that you identify the area you have put the debre but also what it is. I highly recommend you not so such thing and make plans for proper disposal.
Hey mate, I’ve spent a lot of time in Alaska and remote parts of the us. Pretty normal to use as hard core for drainage & fixing roads. What do them do in remote parts of Australia? Thats right they set fire to there rubbish. I really think people think that I don’t think things through when Infact I’m 5 steps ahead. As above it was not possible to shift it so the president of a town here told us this is perfectly ok. It also was done in this location as it’s where 3 big solar panels and will allow the water to drain nicely in heavy down pours. No need to worry lots of things go on in the states that would not be deemed as acceptable here to. 😀

It's been on my mind ever since you mentioned it. You are creating a truly beautiful place for yourselves. To be able to live amongst so many trees and animals must be the best feeling ever. Do you have a trail cam around the 'mermaid's purse'? Would love to see who visits there.

Fernando should write children's book, Life On Miracle Mountain. I'm gonna assume he works pretty cheap, i.e., a nice steady supply of catnip, unlimited belly rubs and cat food. And since he can't count money, well, I mean, what he doesn't know won't hurt him, right? It's also totally amazing that you speak cat.

Yeah, that tour guide didn't even wash his paws after voiding. Harrumph. No Tip! Bee, it is a joy to hear you making jokes again and sharing your love for your beautiful home. Oh, our neighbor goats won't eat weeds at all, but they moan with pleasure when we trim the fruitless mulberry trees - they LOVE the leaves. Such fun animals. I should try throwing them an apple core and see what they do with that. Theo is doing such a great job on the 5 acre property. Being all clean and tidy should help it sell faster and for more money. I surely hope so.
Bea you are hilarious. I loved the commentary of the tour. Honestly, Fernando's behaviour on the tour deserves stars knocked off his review! How rude & brazen of him to do a turd in front of you!😂. He’s come leaps and bounds since we found him in the street. He’s still trying out different avenues for work but I don’t think guiding should be his main focus 😅
I can’t imagine when you put your first property up for sale that it will last very long. In some ways it must be hard to sell it but your love for Miracle Mountain shows whenever you walk around it. Take care.

Your property is so beautiful and green right now. I love all the fruit trees. I was wondering if you might consider picking and selling some of your fruit to the community? Maybe you could set up a little fruit stand and display baskets of fruit for sale. Don't know if you have much traffic near your property but if not perhaps there might be a farmers market in town where you could sell fruit. Better yet, open your fruit orchards to the community one day a week and let people come in and pick their own fruit and charge by the basket. We do this method where I live and pick apples and avocados by the basket .

Such a delightful walk with you, Bee, and I didn’t even break a sweat! Here in Florida, it’s getting HOT (and it isn’t even summer yet). Theo, the off-grid property is looking great! If I were’t 72 years old, I would consider becoming a part-time resident of Portugal, but alas, I’ve exceeded my expiration date for such ventures. I must leave that sort of things for younger and braver whippersnappers. I do so love your videos!

Theo get yourself a thumb kit (piping and the joystick control for the thumb) for the excavator ... it will be easier for you from the cockpit by using the thumb and the bucket to pick stuff up that you've not be able to do without the thumb.
