Man I wouldn't even look...well maybe I would but regardless I'd go straight through a window I don't care what floor and I will drag my then broken ass bones to the car and use my fucking broken legs to pressure the accelerator to the nearest main road to be found and taken to a hospital that isn't haunted

Hide a shîtty tape recorder somewhere in there under something. Come back days later pop in some fresh batteries and see what you hear.
Fuck that set up some hidden night vision cameras with a wireless connection and hook up an audio thingy that can detect certain sounds that maybe you missed yourself etc etc and get a clear view ya kno?
A simple tape recorder might not work
Best thing about having a wireless feed is that if one of the cameras is found you get a creepy af close up of some asshole's face when they find it XD

VaderVoid that's what I was thinking after I read a comment about the trail cams before this one. And also, they're prob alot more expensive I would imagine but there's some where u can actually get an alert on your cell phone & watch what's going on live!! And I don't THINK distance matters either but I could be wrong on that.
The reason that this would most likely not work is that tape recorders when recording/playing it make a sound that you can easily hear.
You can set up a recorder to be sound activated action i would love that
There is simply no way that I would ever have done this alone. No. way. I'm not going to lecture on the dangers here, all I mean is simply that I would have been terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought. Something about this place is absolutely awful, maybe the worst of the places I've seen you visit, not because there was a special incident or anything, but just because the environment is that unnerving. The fact that it occasionally sounded like someone was in there with you only further cements how godawful the thought of being trapped or pursued in that place is. Infinite kudos to you, Sir.

I totally agree. This place is absolutely awful as you said. I do not see any magic in it. Forget architecture or lead windows…all my mind takes in is this godawful dread. DREAD FOR REALS. Heavy feeling of a doom.

They did bust the walls for the copper, though. So People had been there. I assume people were "living" there (unfortunately), but it is strange!

I totally agree! I wish someone would salvage it as well as the stained glass. Just a shame. They don't build that way anymore. No pride in workmanship anymore.
If I won a fatass lotto jackpot, I'd probably buy the property, clear the original building out, and commission an up-to-date clone to be my personal residence (tho mine would have a bitchin' garden railway)
iron 13 unfortunately the quality of building materials isn’t going to be as good as it was back in this time, I would have it gutted and replace any rotten and or rotting pieces

I always go from your main videos straight to the cutting room floor videos, both tie in really nicely.
I don't know if you have ever lived in an older house but they make lots of noises at night.
Usually 4-5hrs after the sun goes down the wooden joints in the house begin to adjust to the different temperature.
Don't know if this makes sense but that might explain the noised that sounded like people walking around.
Now I don't know exactly what you heard and my house was no where near the size of that house but I've been waken up at night due to the noises in my old house.
Hunter Thompson im a year late but id like to that my house does that alot but its noises are always very sharp and are usually fairly loud. in regards to the video during the day time visit you can see a shadow through a door quickly move when dan makes some noise and at one point a whole where a doorknob would be was covered by something watching dan which quickly fleed when he entered the room proper. there were also clear signs of post abandonment habitation (the way certain object had been left). while the joints of the house's woodwork wouldve caused some of the noise there were definitely people in there
My home is old and I hear noises from the wood creaking from the temperature change, just like you said. 4 or 5 hours after sunset. Sometimes it scares me out of my skin but I know its just the house

The person/people who were in there were probably more freaked out than you were Dan after hearing you laughing hysterically!! They probably thought ‘ who is the crazy man laughing like a banshee?? ‘ I certainly would have thought that!!
The detail along the stair treads the carved parts along the risers and continuing along the treads with those curlicues are fabulous details. Showed finish carpenters knew their mad skills 130+ years ago.

The original video scared me more than any other DB video. This is a spine-tingling, scary house. I can feel it through the video, definitely haunted.
Consider bringing a thermal camera with you to see if any heat is left from anyone.
I personally love hearing you talk about the locations you visit, gives an extra dimension to them. Thank you for taking the time to do the commentaries you do :)

Maybe this has already be dealt with, in which case dismiss this next bit :D but I'm pretty concerned about that gas leak you talked about. Surely that needs looking at/fixing? Have you reported it to anyone? Surely the build up of gas has the potential to explode, no?
And that's not even touching on the dangers of CO/CO2.
I just want you (if you go back), other possible explorers and anyone else potentially living there to be safe :)

I can across your videos last night and have been binge watching since then. I love your footage and not only are you providing us with great footage of abandoned homes/buildings but I love your amazing finds not to mention the spooky paranormal finds and also some sketchy situations. you are amazing, thank you for making great videos!
I more recently watched this on my big TV, and, for the first time, I was really able to hear what Dan is talking about. Then, with the right headphones, I listened in, using my phone RUclips app, and, yeah, you can clearly hear this stomping, and these thuds, and, at one point, clearly a voice, muffled behind the walls. The freakiest part is when you clearly hear something being stepped on, and crunched up, loudly, almost, at first, sounding like a can being crumpled, which is when Dan's breath gets quivery. And Dan isn't moving. You hear something like that again, and he turns, quickly, and it just stops. At one point, just as Dan is about to say "what's going on...", or something like that, you can clearly hear what sounds almost like a more masculine male's voice talking, which is clearly not one of the thuds. And the thuds really do sound like someone is moving a chair, or sofa around, at times.
Excellent job. Your the best investigator I've ever seen. Walking thru and not talking then going back and narrating was AWESOME! YOU ROCK!

after the first visit where there was a shadow of a person on the door at the bottom of the grand staircase...im surprized you went back at night...you are one brave man...wild horses would not drag me back in there...love your vids by the way
Dead bolt in doors to solitary rooms actually make sense if the locks are on the outside. I gotta hand it to you. You were able to stare your fear in the face and return to the house after leaving. Props to you

In general, isolation rooms cannot be locked or unlocked from inside, hence the outside lock to keep peeps out znd not accidentally trapped = dead.
This is the Gundry-Glass Hospital in Baltimore. There are a few news articles you can find about its closing back in the 90's.
I just went here it was much more cleaned up than this video. The heaviness this place has is intense and we heard children's voices and felt cold spots. It's right next to home here in Maryland.
If there is a gas leak, did you worry behind those locked doors were dead bodies? The noise, and weird things could have also been carbon monoxide poisoning becareful if you go back.
Unlikely a gas line is still active at abandon building, as for carbon dioxide is possible with decomposing animals but he's not in the building to really effect a person. As for Co2 poisoning is unlikely being its created by fuel line.. Also you get symptoms of Co2 poisoning, I'm sure if he felt crappy he wouldn't continue exploring

If there was a natural gas leak he would have called the gas company when he got home, right, he didn't have to tell them who he was. All I could think of was those cig butts from earlier video and a gas leak. KABOOM? Where is Nancy Drew when you need her. "The Secret of the Old Asylum".
+Kevin Strachan Maybe it's raw waste from the vagrants living in the house. And with all of the fireplaces with ash cleanouts, then the smell would travel through the whole house. Just a theory. :)

Have you been to spring grove? It's a huge property and a lot of the building as still in use its the oldest asylum that still runs. It's amazing! It's in Catonsville I found it just by driving around trying to find cool places
I'm glad you didn't take that part of your hysteria out. It is so awesome! It lets everyone know that all at times do have that certain amount of courage it takes to face fears. They normally go away after the first time. This is my favorite vid just because of your reaction. Wish I were there, I would have went up first!!!
I'll bet there are several people and they have cordoned off a little area, leaving one access point which you found. They have a small child, for sure. I hope that the child is doing well today and doesn't remember living in that.

At first I thought the video with the abandoned apartments and people coming in was the scariest. I've changed my mind. This place js unbelievably creepy, and that's watching it from my phone. I couldn't even imagine experiencing this in real life. It also made me wonder why only some rooms were locked, very weird. Just noticed the plumed carpet design on stairs, was reminiscent of all wool carpet in the house I lived in when married. Pattern of swirls only - not the color, the carpeting at my old place was heavy grey-beige textured loomed wool. Not the flat Axminster weave as seen in the video.

Hey Dan, have you noticed all the random objects that have been moved around/ rearranged in this house? Although anyone could have done this, I think it supports your theory that someone may be living there. The appearance of deadbolts on certain doors takes it even further...

Dan, I like that you are not taking a side on the noises you hear. I honestly can't take a side myself, although I do believe in the paranormal. If it is people they must not be violent, or I would think that they would have confronted you to try to rob you. If you can hear them so easily they surely must hear your footsteps as well, maybe even see your light. It's one of those mystery's that we will probably never know the truth about for certain.

Normally proper squatters of buildings, especially commercial buildings, will put some sort of note at the entrance to inform whoever that the building is being occupied . And by proper squatters I mean people who would live there for months at a time, and not drug addicts or vandals who would stay there for a night or two, or be there to scrap the place for copper piping, brass taps etc.
