The judges really need to stop basing their judgment on what the contestants look like. It's supposed to be about singing, and these girls weren't bad. I think the judges just didn't like their appearance.
Nina Poizen ok I get where you're coming from, but the X factor is not just about singing it really is about performance as well. You know they are looking for performers who can rack in a crowed. They did have really good voices but they were not performers. I think on American idol it would have been different (Do you think I used the word performer enough lol)

This actually kinda pisses me off. In their first performance, their voices were amazing. Maybe the choreography wasn't great, but this is a singing competition. Not a dance competition. Why wouldn't anybody sign them? They are better singers than some of the most popular singers today. Their voices were great, and they didn't deserve that.

That's untrue. I've been in the music industry since 2009 and from my knowledge of this business, there is absolutely no way that those girls would have been signed by any label. Simon was right. It was quite juvenile and childish, and it was vocally very average. And by average, I mean that there is a hundred million people who sing the exact same way. There was absolutely nothing that stood out and made them unique, different from every other girl band out there. With a girl band like that, you need to have singers who work together really well and that honestly sounded like someone stepping on three cats, for like a minute. It got worse and worse as they continued, and I hope no girl band like that ever disgraces the industry.

Singing, dancing makes no difference. Simon has made a career and living (and you cannot argue that he hasn't been extremely successful at it) by knowing the music business, what works and what doesn't. His ability to sing is utterly irrelevant in the context of this show. He of all people is best placed to know if someone has ability or not. And by "ability" i mean not only the voice but everything else - he is after a product he can sell. Which is why these shows always contain during their run and right up the last few shows a few key acts that "could" be marketed or perhaps have potential, one that's a total joke and is only there to keep the viewing figures up because people love to laugh at it, and the one that he ages ago picked for the top slot and will be slowly brought into play when the time is right. This "chosen" act may, or may not actually feature in the winning position - could easily be second place. The entire show is engineered to "generate" to a winning saleable "act" - if you don't fit that image either the one he is looking for or one that could be "grown" to appear in a year or two, then you are no use to him.
These girls are far from bad! They just need to work on their presence and song selection, and they will be a lot better. Too bad the X Factor is not all about the voice only :/

well actually tbh & frank....there were certain keys that they were out of sync with and if you can't hit them....then you need singing lessons...end of.....but really it also depends on the voice...sound of that voice and whether one can master projecting the sounds to that particular voice.

Hitting the notes correctly isn't enough on its own. Anyone can do that with the right education and enough practice. It's the first thing Simon said.. They were a copycat, they had no unique interpretation of the song. That's why all three said "Fu*k no!!!"

My belief is the lead girl was thinking on her feet, might come across as a selfish act, but she was aware of the bigger picture...she used the time to try her damndest to make something of herself...and her friends...BTW...Each of them can sing...keep at it girls.
Interesting how people see that question of going solo as trying to backstab friends, when in fact she never said 'can 'I' come back on 'my own?' In their defense, it could be a most selfless act of buying them each another shot in case either one of them had a chance. I think it was a brilliant strategy and quick thinking. True, she could be thinking she's better, but as a friend, if there's any chance I'm the weakest link, I'd be first in line to cut myself in hopes that at least ONE of my friends makes it in. I think living with the argument that any 1 of them may have held the others back is worse than living with only part of the team making it through.

The two who got mad were the real selfish ones; they didn't want their friends to be successful without them. A real friend would be happy for another friend's success, even as a solo artist.
They do individually have potential, but on a technical level they have a lot of work and fine tuning to do. Their voices do not sound well together musically, and individually they have a pretty good vocal sound. Simon was a hyperbolic asshole by saying it would take "decades", but it's very clear that these girls are not musicians. And even though they're good on an individual level, they're not really X-Factor material. Plus, the judges were probably considering what was going on with them and how rough around the edges they were.

@ 0.59 when Stacy sings her part you can see she added more than what they had planned and rehearsed! The girl in the middle (who I think has the best voice of the 3, just my opinion though) looks over to Stacy as if to say "what are you doing, we didnt plan for you to do that" and even Simon noticed because at that moment his whole expression and demeanor changed completely, like he just realized as the other girls did at that moment that Stacy was trying to show boat and make herself sound great rather than worry about her friends or the group as a whole! Id be willing to bet that if Stacy hadnt pulled that little stunt @ .58, they just might have had a different outcome, but alas dear old back-stabbing Stacy was only worried about herself!

Thank you for saying that. As a group they were not there but to say they can not sing is blowing things way out of proportion. The girl in the center, in particular, has got some serious chops. Their harmonies were out which really killed the whole thing. Anyone who says they are terrible simply has an axe to grind and can not be taken seriously. Must agree with Heather Coop though. If you are going on a show like this you have got to do more then sing well. You need something that is going to make you stand out. Good is not good enough.
Certainly not one of the worst groups, but definitely not good enough for this show. Their voices were only QUITE good, there was tuning problems and harmonies were awful.

It's like the saying goes: a good captain goes down with his ship. If they failed, they failed together, not ask for the chance to sing solo without at least consulting each other first. These three were meant to be friends that supported each other, and she pretty much jumped on the chance to do away with the group as soon as they got rejected.

well actually tbh & frank....there were certain keys that they were out of sync with and if you can't hit them....then you need singing lessons...end of.....but really it also depends on the voice...sound of that voice and whether one can master projecting the sounds to that particular voice.

My belief is the lead girl was thinking on her feet, might come across as a selfish act, but she was aware of the bigger picture...she used the time to try her damndest to make something of herself...and her friends...BTW...Each of them can sing...keep at it girls.
Interesting how people see that question of going solo as trying to backstab friends, when in fact she never said 'can 'I' come back on 'my own?' In their defense, it could be a most selfless act of buying them each another shot in case either one of them had a chance. I think it was a brilliant strategy and quick thinking.
True, she could be thinking she's better, but as a friend, if there's any chance I'm the weakest link, I'd be first in line to cut myself in hopes that at least ONE of my friends makes it in. I think living with the argument that any 1 of them may have held the others back is worse than living with only part of the team making it through.

They do individually have potential, but on a technical level they have a lot of work and fine tuning to do. Their voices do not sound well together musically, and individually they have a pretty good vocal sound. Simon was a hyperbolic asshole by saying it would take "decades", but it's very clear that these girls are not musicians. And even though they're good on an individual level, they're not really X-Factor material. Plus, the judges were probably considering what was going on with them and how rough around the edges they were.

@ 0.59 when Stacy sings her part you can see she added more than what they had planned and rehearsed! The girl in the middle (who I think has the best voice of the 3, just my opinion though) looks over to Stacy as if to say "what are you doing, we didnt plan for you to do that" and even Simon noticed because at that moment his whole expression and demeanor changed completely, like he just realized as the other girls did at that moment that Stacy was trying to show boat and make herself sound great rather than worry about her friends or the group as a whole! Id be willing to bet that if Stacy hadnt pulled that little stunt @ .58, they just might have had a different outcome, but alas dear old back-stabbing Stacy was only worried about herself!

Thank you for saying that. As a group they were not there but to say they can not sing is blowing things way out of proportion. The girl in the center, in particular, has got some serious chops. Their harmonies were out which really killed the whole thing. Anyone who says they are terrible simply has an axe to grind and can not be taken seriously. Must agree with Heather Coop though. If you are going on a show like this you have got to do more then sing well. You need something that is going to make you stand out. Good is not good enough.

The way she just immediately asked if they could come back on their own showed that she had been thinking about this before going in, and that she didn't have much faith in them as a group at the start so had this little back up plan ready without consulting her friends.
