Great video, very in-depth and informative! Pro tip - use a breaker bar to loosen nuts, if you have to use your torque wrench to break torque, max out the torque wrench so you don’t mess up the calibration.
I don’t have a breaker bar so I just broke my torque wrench instead 😂 I didn’t even think about maxing out the torque on it beforehand 😬 I appreciate the tip!
Prob one of the best ewg installs out here. Kudos to your camera man. He stuck with ya to the end. Not an easy task. So, does the grimspeed bracket disable the iwg in the turbo? Assuming so. Your spring setup for the ewg was only for 14psi. Isnt that kinda low? Assuming you are still on stock vf48 turbo for this setup? Thx
Hang on. A stock uppipe like shown in your photo flows just as good as an aftermarket uppipe if we are talking without a EWG. Who told you the stock one doesn’t flow as good?
I have a question bro I don't know if you can help me, but I just installed a tial wastegate too in my 2018 sti but the question is the I don't know where the hoses go im new on this upgrade my subi I wanna see if you can help me with a video show me where the hoses go from the tial to where or if I need something else the I need to put it, I don't have Solenoid control I need that. Thank you and have a great day.
Since I'm pulling the engine out of my car. Do you think it's going to be easier to assemble everything on the jack stand... Or if I do that I'll run into fitment issues trying to drop it back in the body
Sorry I thought I replied to this comment earlier. If i was you id probably assemble everything when the engine is out of the car besides the up-pipe, because that might run into fitment issues. But everything else should be able to be installed and not get into the way when putting the engine back.
Does the wastegate to uppipe require a gasket in between and I'm removing my OEM header .. for hks ELH hopefully should make it easier at same time but I gotta tap it for egt

Aaron Torres I’m tired of buying things too for this picky car 😂 Just when you think you got it all 3 more things pop up that you need to buy 🤦🏼♂️ And as annoying as it was to have to spontaneously buy headers, I was going to get some either way and it would have sucked to find out later I need to buy a new up-pipe 😂
Thank you very much man :) As for the upipe, I purchased it from Import Image Racing. This is what it was called when I got it, I just cant seem to find it again myself. (Grimmspeed 38mm V-Band EWG Up Pipe Kit w/ Tial MVS Wastegate 3 Bolt WRX / STI / Legacy GT / Forester XT × 1) Just remember when ordering this for yourself to make sure you get the correct bolt pattern on the upipe that you need. For example, they sell 2-Bolt and 3-Bolt versions depending on what header you have on the car :) Hope this helps.
Thanks bud. It's hard to find because of this epa crap. But I'm going with Tomei el with their uppipe and probably flex on E85. What do you think? Worth it? How much power you making?
Hey bud. I am sorry for the many questions and I appreciate all you response to me. I am getting ready soon to install my EL headers and the GS uppipe with ewg. Is the uppipe install super hard? I heard the V clamps are a mission, lol?
I wouldn’t say it’s hard to do. Just loosen the engine mount and raise the engine a bit for more clearance, get the up pipe bolted up first and then the headers. As for the v band clamps, they can be a pain but that is if you are not getting them perfectly lined up to each other. The most important part is to make sure the pipes fully seat inside the clamp and are lined up perfectly. If it seems to be “short” to where you can’t get the bolt in to tighten the clamps it means you don’t have them fully seated or lined up. Hope this helps!
Sorry im probably replying to late but I would first make sure the clamps are properly seated on the flange of the uppipe, they have to be perfect to get that good seal and then it sould give you enough leverage to get the bolt in. If that does not work than step two would be to contact the people you purchased it from and ask them what you should do.
It’s not required to tune for headers but if you want to take advantage of the new headers and push a bit more power with them a tune is always good :)
@@wockeezgrc5446 You are welcome, and yes you can do the tune after and still take advantage of the new headers. I’m glad you enjoy my videos thank you for tuning in 😁

Nice video besides the wastegate isnt installed correctly, it should face the rear of the car above the cv shaft next to the transmission
Great job with the install and snatching up the EL header for cheap.

Do you need to lift the engine if you’re going to replace the Headers at the same time?
BluPrynt78 You should be able to get the headers swapped without lifting the engine :)
BluPrynt78 you don’t need to lift the engine for the uppipe if you’re going to remove the headers
RichardUzumaki Thank You. I did my install almost a month ago and didn’t need to jack the engine up! 👍🏽
BluPrynt78 hell yeah 👍🏻 I’m going to be doing my stage 3 build install in about 2-3 weeks lol
Yea you are correct I forgot that is if you are not taking off your headers that you need to lift your engine.
When you deleted the Stock Internal Wastegate Bracket what did you do with the hoses that were connected? I’m stuck ☹️
What hoses exactly are you talking about? Hit me up on Instagram and snap a picture for me I’ll do my best to guide you through it :)
Be Above Average I think I figured it out. I believe the tiny hose goes to the TiAl WasteGate.
BluPrynt78 Yes it does 👌🏼 Sorry I couldn’t help you right away
BluPrynt78 so when you go external and get a 3 port Ebcs one hose goes to the external waste gate correct?
if you change the header is it necessary to do something to the computer? I already have my header and I want to install it myself
