One tool - many jobs! Let me introduce you to the 2021 EGO Multi-Head System. In this video I demonstrate the use of the EGO 56volt Power head and all the accessories, the pole saw, edger, bristle brush, rubber broom, cultivator, trimmer, and hedger trimmer.
I have been testing and using this system for the past year and have found uses for all-seasons and numerous applications. If you want versatility, best build quality, and crazy peformance - make sure to check out this system.

I still have a few to get. For my needs I’ll need the cultivator attachment and the hedge trimmer. Very good demo of each attachment, you honestly help me to make informed purchases 🤙🏽
I did not expect the cultivator to be as handy as it is - and the hedge trimmer is a no brainer
Bought the new select cut XP, 650cfm blower, edger/multi tool, and carbon fiber trimmer because of your videos! Thx for the videos I love my new equipment!
Awesome to hear - I'm testing the Select Cut XP right now
Wow, how convenient to have so many great tools in one and with Ego quality. The brush and cultivator are so cool! Great video as usual.
Thanks mate - EGO does it again
I have the trimmer and cultivator attachments and love them both. The trimmer is a bit heavy with the 5ah battery, but not too bad. The attachments switch out quickly and stay in place once locked.
I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
Thanks for the video. Really appreciate showing all the attachment’s functions.
Thanks mate
You earned a sub, bud. Great review! Verbal & visual demo of the entire lineup in 8 mins. Well done...
Thanks mate!!!
Just got the multi head system with pole saw and the trimmer. I’m hooked. The power behind these tools is insane. Probably going to sell my gas weed eater and blower and go all in on the EGO line of tools
Just got mine today, with the edger and trimmer. And of course the 650
CFM blower. It so liberating to be cordless.
It is a lifestyle :)
I've got this system, so far I've only purchased the edger attachment. I absolutely love it. Will eventually be purchasing the pole saw and possibly the power brush.
Those are great attachments
You make good and informative videos - THANKS.!!!
Glad you like them mate!
Thanks for all your hard work, Andrew.
I got the power head and edger attachment about a month ago and I have run out of places to edge!
Love it!
I bet your edges look great too
@@Kitearmy All my accounts were very pleased to have had the surprise edging, and it literally took minutes for each of them.
@@bradhabit2217 That's so cool - by far the cleanest edge you can get
are you near roseland nj? lol
Wait till your batteries are over a year old. I have four, ONE works today. I tried to use E-GO for a pro service. Now I feel like this😢
I need one of these!!! great video thanks for sharing!
You need 10 of these
Ego also makes three very good battery powered lawn mowers that use any of the same three batteries. Excellent torque and build quality.
I reviewed the new Select Cut XP - great mower
Thanks for showing off the whole line!
One tool that does it all!
I am sold on EGO products. I started with the first generation 20" push mower (self propelled not available) in 2014 and have since acquired many of the implements. My most recent is the multi head system with the edger attachment to start off. Next was the new Zero Turn Z6 mower (awesome) Now that is a lawn mower. Next is the Select Cut 21" self propelled mower (also a fantastic twin blade mower). Next the 575 CFM blower, the early 14" chain saw and lastly the 24" hedge trimmer. For the batteries I have the 2.5Ah, the early 4Ah, the 7.5Ah and 4 of the new 10Ah batteries. Guess you could say that I am hooked on EGO products.
Great video you produced for us plain folks. Keep up the info on all there products.
Glad to help!
I got the trimmer last year and added the edger about a week ago. I've been looking for a cultivator. I just watched your video, and see that Ego has a cultivator attachment. I can't wait to get it.😍
The cultivator is a beast
Nice review Andrew! EGO continues to be top notch and is constantly innovating 👍
They are hungry
Thanks for the ego videos. I watched them all
Thanks mate - appreciate your support
Great job,nice review! 👍
Mahalos 🤙🏾
Great to see Belts & Boxes feature this video. Also, it seems like *all* the attachments are one of your favorites 😀 ...not that I blame you!
That's super cool - I did not know that - yeah it's like picking a favorite kid
Well done video sir, and what an awesome tool!
Glad you liked it!
This is another great review Andrew.
Thanks mate!
Great video! My 66-yr old mom loved it also.
66 year old ladies love my content
Really like mine with the line trimmer, edger and hedge trimmer! Nice review!
Thanks mate - glad you liked
Just bought one didn't get chance to use it yet but it looks good I will try it sometime this week.
Thanks for the video. Really complete informations, you answer all of my questions.
My pleasure!
Thanks for this. Great vid
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the review. I currently own a Kobalt 24v trimmer and blower, and absolutely love the convenience of a battery, but I want a battery edger to replace my very loud and heavy gas one, so looking at the EGO powerhead system because the Kobalt edger would require a different battery and charger. So, my plan is to eventually convert everything to EGO because of the convenience of the multi-head attachments and ability to use the same battery on everything. May eventually go to battery mower as well, but my Honda is only a couple years old, so not quite ready for that yet.
Plan now for the future
Hello! great video! but I can’t find this multi head anywhere! Can you inform the resin there is no available stock? will this product be discontinued?
I bought the LB 650 blower for my business this spring and it's been great so far. I had stayed away from their trimmers because the head spins clockwise. To my surprise I found the ST1530 which spins counter-clockwise like a gas powered trimmer. It's a little heavy at 13.83 lbs. with the 5 ah battery but well balanced. I just received this yesterday so I'll be back soon with my thoughts on the ego dedicated trimmer.
Great - keep us posted
The more I use the trimmer the more I like it. Excellent for edging, surprisingly. Today I used it on 3 properties and had 1 bar left on the battery. I charged it at lunch for a half an hour and did 3 more lawns. The blower lasted for all 6 lawns with some battery to spare. The true test will be on a 10 lawn day. I ran it on #1 setting all day which was plenty of power. I will be getting the strap as it is a little heavier than a echo gas trimmer. Not smelling like 2 stroke exhaust at the end of the day is worth the price of admission.
@@carlmccarty6470 not to mention to the noise - sounds like your really putting EGO to the test
@@Kitearmy After using the trimmer for while I'm getting 4 and a half lawns trimmed on a single charge. 5 ah battery
@@carlmccarty6470 not acceptable :)
Does Ego lawn tractor would you suggest for a 1 aces yard? I would rather have a tractor because I use a trailer and I would also need a leaf bagging attachment. Thank you I learned a lot from your videos.
FYI if you hold the hedge trimmer down, adjust the cutting blade like a hocky stick. It takes a long messy job of cleaning out tall sturdy weeds that the string trimmer can't cut. And makes really no mess at all.
Very helpful. Really thinking about the pole saw option to attack my honeysuckle.
how about the pole edger - thing is a beast
Hey quick question, does the pole saw have a telescopic extension or is it a set length?
You convinced me to switch to EGO, I bought my first cordless tool 6 weeks ago which was a Milwaukee hedge trimmer. It's certainly nod BAD but I'm not very impressed with the single sided blade and economics of the machine unfortunately.. so I've sold it along with my petrol tools and have ordered the EGO attachment system... Should arrive it in a few days and I'm excited to put it all to work 👍🏼
hopefully you will like it
@@Kitearmy finally arrived, it's awesome! Great build quality 👍🏼
Can some tell me if the previous carbon fiber string trimmer vs the multi head with string trimmer which is lighter and more powerful
Andrew, another great video. I need to clean 3/4 minus rock from an asphalt road. Which would you recommend, the Bristle Brush or the Rubber Broom Attachment? Thanks.
Bristle brush is great
I wonder if the kombi system attachments from Stihl would fit this power head? I have a ton of those attachments for my stihl powerhead, but have the e-go lawnmower and it would be nice to go completely electric, but not lose all the money invested in the stihl attachments.
Great video. One thing I noticed, during the bristle brush demo, did you have it pushing snow first and then the brush going in reverse in the lawn?
Thanks, very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Well that's cool. I think I might get the multitool ,BUT get the string trimmer exclusively because it has the capability where you can load the string quicker. I suck at that.
Very helpful thank you
You're welcome!
Very nice review as always
Thanks mate - appreciate the support
Wow what a power machine 👍
Sure is
I have the edger head, trimmer and the chainsaw. I really like the tools, however it's too heavy for me to use it for a long time and the fact that I have to hold down the button to keep it running and the vibration it kind of ruined my right-hand thumb. 😞
Great presentation!!!
Thank you!
Super video! I applauded for $5.00 👏👏
No way! Big thanks mate!
J'ai acheté ce kit et bon sang qu'il est génial, silencieux, efficace et tout et tout ! De la bombe ce matos ! Je le conseille très vivement
Lowes Just had special on pole saw attachment with power head for 179.00.
The hedge trimmer attachment also went on sale for 149.00.
I picked up both.
Now, I'm waiting on the solar charger to go on sale for my power station I bought for 799.00 from Homedepot.
I'm a Super Bargain only shopper😁
Thanks for sharing
Great video does the string trimmer attachment for this multihead unit have that auto string load feature like the individual string trimmer unit does
Gord
Yeah, show us reloading the line. Thx!
no - it is a manual feed
Great review. I know you have done one for Milwaukee’s Quik-Lok trimmer and I know the Quik-Lok is also attachment capable. Are the attachments from EGO compatible with Milwaukee’s and vice versa? from your video, I believe both have the same star-shaped drive cord.
I don't believe so
just wish I hadn't already bought the trimmer and hedge trimmer before the multi system came out. I also have an EGO blower and bought an EGO self-propelled mower two months ago and love it. I hope to some day get the multi system with the edger, chain saw and tiller for use at my volunteer job at Habitat for Humanity.
yeah - good to see that they keep improving
I've purchased a few separate attachments for the multi head system on Facebook Marketplace. I'm constantly checking to see what people have listed at a really good price. I'll only buy items still in the box that are new though.
Thanks for the review. Your videos are entertaining. I would like to get an EGO multi tool system but having a hard time finding one. Lowe's has been sold out and unavailable for months. Same with Ace. Amazon has them but asking way more than Lowe's or Ace. Anyone else having difficulty getting one? Is it a case of the 2021 supply issue?
Just in high demand - my Lowes has about 10 of them in stock
Does the string attachment head powerload for this model?
Can my powerload ego trimmer use any of these attachments?
How is changing the string in the string trimmer?
Love your reviews of Ego power equipment! Question: Are there any reasons (additional functionality or capabilities) to purchase the dedicated string trimmer or dedicated edger, verses the multitool options for these tools? I need both of these tools and understand it would be cheaper to purchase the multi tool option, however I want to make sure I’m buying the top of the line (at least from a residential perspective).
The multis will be more than enough for any residential! You can even buy a $10 adapter kit on Amazon and attach blades to the trimmer to cut like 6 inch trees like butter!
If you think you might need any other tool that is attachment capable then go with the multi - otherwise go with the individual
As a gardener, I've always had multi tools. Saves money and and are easy to store in my cab whenever I want to take it apart . Even if you don't need the other attachments, you options be open as long as you have a multi tool.
The string trimmer I use has the power head that makes it easy to add new string. I don’t think the multi tool system has that?
@@BottleBrookGardens no it does not
I appreciate your help
Thanks mate
great job very helpful. not sure which i want to do the 8 attachment system or individual. What is the benefit to each ?
I have both - single and the multi head. I really like the mult-head for the edger
I love ego power head it is great
no arguments here
interesting video my question is whether the shots of the hedge cutter were taken with the additional extension attachment?
nope - no extensions in this video
Came back to watch this again after your newer one. Can you change direction for the power brush? Looked like you were shooting snow forward and was backwards on the brush.
Thanks - yes if you remove the guard and then flip it over
Nice video, great demonstration.... you might want to use the pole saw on your nose-hair!!!
Thank for paying such close attention to my poor growing habits. But funny anyway
I love how EGO is exciting. It has freed me from all of the ancillary parts and tools I need to get through a year. It has worked so well for me that I put over $2,500 worth of Stihl gas equipment on the curb and gave it away for free! If all of the EGO equipment didn't work as well as everyone says, I could never had thought of doing something like that.
I did the same thing about 5 years ago - never looked back
I bought this version years ago. With the trimmer attachment but I don’t care for the trimmer at all. It’s heavy. I prefer the curved version of a trimmer. I think I mentioned it in your other video. But the reason why I got this multi attachment version was for the pole saw and other attachments but at that time they were $100 each. Cheap to me at the time. Now they are $150 a piece lol. I’m still waiting for them to go down. I should have just bought the attachments back then. They had them on amazon for $99 during Christmas time. But so far haven’t lowered the price. I have been waiting for years now lol. Now it’s just sitting in my garage
They are in super high demand
@@Kitearmy maybe I will just sell mine then anyone wanna buy mine? Lol
@@Catman1798 Ebay
I have the hedge trimmer and edger and they work well. It is pretty heavy so I would not recommend the string trimmer (get their dedicated string trimmer which is joy to use )
The brooms are heavy - the rest of the tools feel okay for me
Great video. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Great video! I have an eight year old 36 volt Stihl 21" mower that I love-never,never going back to gas! I've seen tons of RUclips content on Ego,and would like to try one. I am looking for a power head that can spring clean my lawn. Would the rubber paddle or the bristle brush attachment be best for light de-thatching? Thanks!
The bristle brush works great for that - skip the rubber paddle wheet
@@Kitearmy Thanks!
love the video
Thanks mate
Andrew, I got a good one for you. I currently have the bristle brush attachment. I know its possible to just buy the cultivator blades individually. Will they fit in the bristle brush shaft? Thanks.
I will give it a shot
Great question. I'd love to know too
There is a snow thrower attachment that came out this year in Europe, but I messaged EGO and asked them if it was coming out in the US and they said there were no plans for that! That’s a huge bummer for me, because the attachment itself looks great!
I wonder why they are not releasing in the US???
Your videos are very good. Interesting. Purchase the multi or individual Ego tools like the Best String Trimmer, etc. Just need to decide between eco systems like Ego and Toro … mower, trimmer, edger, snowblower so as not to have multiple chargers lying around.
I have both Toro and EGO - I gave the Toro to my neighbor
If you need a battery snowblower go with Toro, the current Ego ones are nowhere near as good . I have used both the 60v 14/16" Toro trimmer and the 2020 Ego and to be 100% honest the biggest difference is the powerload feature for the string. The Toro trimmer you have to spin a knob on the head and it's not that big of a deal. There really isn't an appreciable difference in power or runtime with 2.5ah batteries.
@@dhanipersaud6227 Thank you
@@dhanipersaud6227 Have you seen the EGO 2-stage it's a monster
@@Kitearmy Seen it on youtube but haven't used it. I have used the single stage Toro and Ego snow blower offerings and Toro model is in a completely different league performance wise.
Toro also has a new two stage electric snow blower and early reviews seem positive but I haven't seen any head to head comparisons with the Ego. Also, most people in my neighbourhood only have single stages. So, not sure when I'll get to try one out. You need to be plowing a fairly large area and a lot of snow to truly justify a 2 stage.
This guy looks like he’s deep in EGO pocket book.
:05 Looks like you have the fins on backwards. They should be overlapping the middle to minimize the middle spot that's missed. But I guess your way might make getting in corners better?
PLEASE explain to us what the RUBBER BROOM is used for. It looks cool but I don't understand what it's good for.
I'm not really sure myself - i prefer the bristle brush
I have the bristle brush attachment and it is great for fall and spring cleanup as well as driveway and walkway cleaning. I am curious if I can just buy the replacement rubber brushes and swap with the bristle brush; seems like it would work. You didn't take the rubber version apart for comparison; maybe a future video? Unless the answer is just a simple "yes" (I hope).
Yes
@@Kitearmy Excellent! Much cheaper; thanks!
@@morrielewin1554 great!
Loads of great info in your vids! Unfortunately, looks like the trimmer/edger kit is sold out at Lowes and on a month waiting list on Amazon. (insert sad face here) Btw, have you done any long term Ego Battery reviews...ever had issues or received a bad one? Thx!
I have been using EGO batteries for 7 years - never had 1 go bad.
I’ve had a bunch and they are my main lawn equipment. Mine wore out after about 5 or 6 years. Some of my 2.5s I think will last a few more seasons I think
You have to get the Stens Rotary Scissors and put it on one of the heads. They are legit!
OMG that looks so cool - do those fit the EGO heads
@@Kitearmy Yes. I switched the weed eater head to it.
@@colonelkfc33 I'm doing it!!
For $260?
@@billw1044 they aren't exactly cheap but they are pretty nice
I bought a Stihl multi system. COULD NOT REMOVE THE ATTACHMENTS. it was in the complaints but under my 12% limit to still buying! lol this seems like a better attachment system
They put quality into this system
I am on the ego owners board i just saw a picture of the cutivator on one side and bristle brush on the other do you have a video of this in use or was that just for display.. if it does fit and work why is that not something that is widely publicized.
Thank you in advance
Hey maniac - that was just to show that it is possible - not sure I would reccomend
How does the string trimmer attachment compare to the dedicated string trimmer St1511t or ST1521S? I primarily want a string trimmer but would be nice to have a cultivator too. Thanks!
I like the powerload the best - that being said the cultivator is AWESOME!
Hey Hey Andrew I have the ryobi 40v brushless hp Carmen fiber attachment capable string trimmer I have the address attachment I have the Weedwhacker attachment and I have the blower attachment are those ones good or is ego better
I think some Ryobi stuff is good - not a huge fan of their yard tools
will my existing universal attachments from my gas powered trimmer attach to this power head or do i have to rebuy all of Ego's attachments? the latter is a deal killer.
what brand
@@Kitearmy I'm taking about the universal attachments, like the ones from Trimmerplus. i already have a few.
Will new companies like EGO be altruistic and have universal attachments? Hell No! They want to suck us dry. I would stick with petroleum products for another 3 years cost wise.
Pavers still good :). love the broom during snow season and that’s what i used it for. Don’t have any other attachment. They are either not the best and too heavy as a combo ;p
Thanks mate - I guess you watched my paver video! Yeah the rubber broom is for me the least useful - I love the pole saw, edger, hedger, and cultivator surprised me at how good it is.
@@Kitearmy i might not comment every vlog but for sure that i watch them all!! lol
@@ometofu Well that is appreciated
Would the EGO POWER+ Multi-Head System Rubber Broom Attachment work on grass to clear out walnuts the size of peaches off the lawn? Will it damage the grass while sweeping the walnuts?
I believe it would work well for that - I have large seeds in my yard that I use this for
@@Kitearmy Thank you❗
I love mine but it gets pretty heavy with the 7.5 amps battery.
Do you know if non-Ego attachments will work on the Ego Power Head? I have attachments from a gas powered Craftsman power head.
not sure
I am wo dering if it is worth buying electric for.my new business, wondering about service, parts and battery life most worrying..
Me too it's a big Investment
Does the multihead trimmer work as well as the dedicated trimmer? That’s my most used accessory but it would be nice to have some other tools with it.
If you have space issues go with the multihead (or need a tree trimmer) otherwise I would suggest to go with each unit separately just buy them without a battery
Need to know: what sound does the Power Head make with no attachments running? I'm asking b/c I just got my set in and when I attached the battery and run it, it seems to be VERY loud for an electric, brushless motor. I have the Ego folding trimmer and it is QUIET whereas the Power Head is exponentially louder. Is this normal?
It is louder than other EGO tools - the motor is in the back so it runs the power down the handle
do you know if the ryobi expand it attachments are compatible with the power head?
They are not
Is this compatible with those blower attachments?
What would you use the brush for and the rubber thing .
I believe it is useless , at least for me
I sort of feel the same way - good for things like street sweeping
I need to get the string trimmer, rubber broom, and edger but I can’t find the string trimmer in stock
Try Ace - I would also skip the rubber broom and go with the bristle
When is the ps1001 pole chain saw due out ?
I have been going the Ryobi route because I was more trusting of Home Depot than Lowe's. I don't know why Home Depot stopped selling EGO but after a lot of review and research, it was a HUGE mistake. Im switching
EGO left HD so that they could sell on Amazon
The build quality looks really good. I use stihl kombisystem and loyal to stihl brand for their blowers, trimmers, etc. I see Ego makes there products with very few plastic parts and more aluminum. One problem I see from this is increased weight and me who uses this type of equipment for long uses throughout the day may not prefer this product.
the brushes are heavy - everything else feel fine
Hı there, I like the item very much so that I would sell my current petrol run multi function system to get that one. But could you please tell me where in Australia can I get your system? Best regards, Tamer
Once again Andrew, we’ll done. Does the string trimmer head have an easy load system in this line of tools?
Yeah - but not an electric powerload
The 1 person who disliked this video owns a Ryobi!
bahhaah
I use eGo for lawn tools, Ryobi ONE+ for DIY. Reduced my battery systems down to 2 from 5; SO much easier to maintain. Looked at the Ryobi 40v system years ago, just didn't compare to eGo.
@@morrielewin1554 Yeah - I think Ryobi hopes that people will jump in because they have the 18v one plus stuff
my Ryobi trimmer broke in one day for me. Maybe Operator Error ;)
Yeah RYOBi for decades was a " Budget' cheapo brand.. EGO was always a premium brand.
So it was never a APPLEs to Apples comparison.
Now in 2022 RYOBi has decided to start making a lot more " premium " tools . Things are changing.
Example..Carbon Fiber, Whisper Quiet, Brushless 40V HP. Dramatically better than their 18 vol and original stuff. Their products are improving
Is RYOBI superior to ego? Nope...
But RYOBi are a lot more accessible, alot more common..AVAILABLE any Where. More compatibility..due to a dramatically bigger product line and always new products coming out every year . Far Far cheaper batteries too.
I have a Honda powdered RYOBi pressure washer thats really really superb. I have some brand new generation 18+ Ryobi brushless handtools which are excellent! A small 18V + Brushless Impact electric driver with LeD lights is shockingly good around the house.
RYOBI 40V Brushless HP multi tool.. is a superb powerhead for weed eating , edging, trimming hand held stuff outside. I got this 40V Brushless motored powerhead for 50 bucks it's compatible with all my 40 V batteries and all my old multi tool extensions from 20 years ago. You just can't EVER do that with EGO. ( price wise) I RYOBi better than EgO. Again I say no. But you're going to pay ALOT more than 50 bucks.
The RYOBI push, self-propelled mowers are complete garbs.....except their riding mower.
My friend has one and loves it and it's dead quiet.
