Not sure that she's breaking as many stereotypes as she thinks - her routine is exactly what I would've expected from a geeky out-of-touch mid-30s college professor who has no clue about breakdancing. It's almost like a skit, or like a Tina Fey character come to life
Exactly..solidifying all the stereotypes. And don't forget the obnoxious liberal woman stereotypes
@catsrus-es9eu - what's liberal about her? She's a classic elitist snob! The white "expert" in colored culture who is 1000% sure that they know how to redo the culture.

She's the embodiment of what academia has become: self-deluded and talentless, with a heck lot of (unjustified) support and cheering. I think it's perfect that she made it that far for the whole world to see.
She's not smashing any stereotypes. She's trying to make the public believe that utter failure in three of the evaluation categories can be made up for, just by being creative. That's like a sprinter telling you "Well I'm not very fast, so I'll just concentrate on moving my arms instead."
Besides, if you look up Gunn's actual results on the Olympics' website you'll soon find out that the judges didn't consider her creative either. They preferred her opponents in every way and every category. Overwhelmingly so.
Most likely because creativity without a minimum of quality has no intrinsic value in sports. Ask any figure skater ...
How can someone be so DELUSIONAL????!!!!!! ROFL I guess believing is half the battle?

Well, if she is the professor nobody will risk telling her she is not Olympic standard for fear of getting an F minus in her course, I wouldn’t tell her.
The absolute lack of self critique here is absolutely astonishing.
She said her weakness was in dynamics and powermoves, so she was trying to make up for it with creativity and musicality. So she's aware of having weaknesses and where they reside. Also, just the toprock footwork and freezes, that's not something everyone can do. Olympic level skill? Perhaps not, but impressive for the average person to bust out, even more so for a professor.
What really gets me is her attitude, she was walking on the floor like she was ready to set it on fire with her moves . Next Olympic I will participate.
I guess the judges must of been hear friends or something or no one even showed up to qualifiers??this is such a waste of tax payers money it is funny..…

I don't blame her. I blame the people around her who supported this and actually voted for her to represent Australia.
There's some corruption here. A lot of tax payers money was wasted on this embarrassing moment.
She had the nerve to say that one of her weaknesses is Dynamics. Someone needs to tell her that her main weakness is dancing in itself... period!
I say this with 100% honesty. She dances like how I danced when I was self taught and had never battled another ACTUAL breaker. She's better than an out of shape person with no training, but not Olympic level.
She is better than a noral person without training, because any normal person with 1-2 months of training and practice can do better than her.
It’s true! I watched her routine, and she pulls a bunch of moves I couldn’t do, and I’m in my early 30s. However… there were more moves that pretty much any able-bodied person could do
@@_heyyahri I am 51, I go regularly to the gym and I am quite fit, after watching her videos twice, I was able to replicate her entire routines and I am pretty sure I did it much better than her. She has done more for the recognition of breakdancing as an actual sport than anyone by not being athletic.
