Fifteen years of putting up with this shit? He’s my hero. He endured just to make his dream come true. They hated him just because they saw that people loved him. They thought fans would hate him for having to replace Cliff and they didn't. He was the most loved and the one who had the most connection with the fans. They hated that. Jason Newsted is a good person . He’s a nice guy. And he’s an awesome bass player.

Not really at all why they hated him. They never really HATED him in general. They just took all their grief and frustration of losing Cliff out on Jason because they didn't know how to handle it properly. Jason was the target for the sadness and anger bullets the rest of the band shot

I met Jason in 1992 when I was a 15 year old Metallica super fan..... he treated me so well. Such a great guy.
It’s such a shame they wasted his talent, he could have contributed so much more to this band and it could have been great. You can tell he’s got his head on straight and very grounded…

It legitimately annoys me the way they treated him with the amount of talent he has, not to mention he isn’t musically braindead like Lars N Kirk. They just acted like punk bitches towards him

I don’t remember Kirk being super mean. I heard he pranked Jason once in his first week then Kirk may not have done that anymore. That’s what I heard anyway, I could be wrong. Cliff, Jason and Kirk will always be my favorite members of Metallica!

It's very, and i mean very rare to find a humble heavy metal musician. Most of them have egoes that supersede their own reality. Jason is so gracious and humble, never disrespected anyone. Throughout all his interviews and fan meetings he was a class act.
Yes. And he still is a class act. I miss him very much. Rob is a great musician, but he's not a great fit for Metallica. Thankfully we have 15 years of material to look at anytime we want.

Imagine coming up with a whole bass line for a whole album just to have it removed from the album. Damn!!
And the person responsible for removing the bass line was also responsible for giving us that great snare drum on St Anger. It's been quite a while since I've heard that album yet I can still hear that pinging sound in my head.

And what bass lines. I killed my left hand on some songs on "...And Justice For All". Great last thrash album, even if you can feel the stages of grief on each track. And Jason did a neat work, justice for him too.

i specially miss him on live shows. his stage presence, his facial expressions, his backing vocals, his energy, the fact that you could REALLY hear his bass live... jason will always be my favorite member.

After Metallica released Load and Reload is when Jason started to question his role. Its known Jason wasn't getting writing credits into the songs. But those two albums he had no writing credits. Only 1 Out of 20 songs.

Depends on what you're looking for. In terms of technique he is probably the weakest between Cliff, Rob and himself.
However his energy and all, I personally feel he fitted Metallica the best, while really not wanting anyone to forget how important the others are/were.

Nah. He got majorly lucky to even be in a huge band like Metallica. If he wasn't, he most likely would've been done with music a couple albums after the first F & J album.

HEY! thats such an awesome idea i hope you do it :,)
i honestly have very low level skillz for editing haha i just use imovie! i use pixlr to get the text on the videos so that i can move it around instead of using the text features imovie has. also you can crop the videos for like "comedic effect" loool its super easy to use and i don't really have time to learn a better video editing software so its perfect.
for the clips, if its from a concert or some sort of mtv interview, in my mind it doesn't really "belong" to anyone... i know it gets complicated with copyright etc and i never want to like say anything is mine when it clearly isnt but it would be way too complicated to get rights and stuff from mtv etc. so i just use something that allows me to download clips from youtube to use. but i try not to use content that will get copyright claims!! if you feel better about asking whoever uploaded it then feel free!! i never take videos from other channels that have edited videos like me, only concerts and mtv stuff! i wouldn't want anyone to use my videos i edited :) thank you so much thats so kind of u i hope this helped... if you have any more questions feel free to ask
