I really understand why Jason left the band, he was always treated as the new guy and he was never "part" of Metallica like James and Lars, even they treat Kirk as the replacement of Dave till this day. That sucks, and you can see it here 0:21 It was a joke but still, I think for them Metallica has only two leaders. They never saw it as a group where each one of them has the similar value. Still a legendary band tho.

They really should have taken some time to mourn Cliff. In hindsight that’s when they needed therapy...Them going right back out there was one of the most awful music business decisions up until the GNR tour debacle.😜
I believe that they acknowledged that they treated Jason like crap. I would have left sooner if I was him. Kirk is a better guitarist than Dave .
