I really feel you havent lived until you try top tree voidwalker with contraverse holds and max discipline with a demolitionist primary. Charged vortex grenades are really strong even on master content so to have it recharge grenades literally as soon as the first one goes away is amazing. Throw on some ashes to assets mods and it feels like you get your super back faster than the skull can provide. The damage resistance while charging can also save your ass sometimes. Definitely the best voidwalker exotic and really brings me back to the d1 nothing manacles days.
100% agree. There is not a single place in this game where i would rather bring skull of dire ahamkara over contraverse hold, its just too darn good. Nades and super energy for days.
yeah, i had some last minute discussions about contraverse and skull with bluewestlo actually and he was saying the same thing. skull just has the pure ease of use factor, which for the average player is something i considered way more: push big button once, get energy. i definitely undervalue contraverse and overvalue skull.
One thing I would add to the Starfire protocol: you can use the double fusion grenade on mid tree dawnblade to get double healing grenades. It's very effective in comp or 3v3 content, to instaheal and grant an overshield.
Starfire with double fusions and a discipline build on the new top tree means you can spend the majority of a match with Heat Rises as well, very effective in pvp especially if you're opting for guns that are less effective naturally from the air, like scouts or fusions.
Even in PVE, it is amazing with mid tree. With the nerfs to Well, people forget that the damage buff is 25%, just like the normal empowering rift. This means, while phoenix protocol seems better on the surface, starfire buffs your neutral game to another level, giving you two healing nades and a way to cycle abilities without having to cater to allies standing in your rift. There also isn’t a whole lot of activities where you need to spam well other than horde modes (lower level content typically).
Ophidian Aspects are my favorite exotics in the game. The design and ornament are incredible and it's just something I can put on without thinking and I love that.
i‘m warlock main and using ophidian aspects since osiris launch. In pve i love to combinate them with grenade launcher loader and mountain top... It‘s crazy you can reload faster than with luna boots. In pvp if you played once with them you can‘t play something diffrent because weapon reload und weapon switching feels so slow without ophidian aspects
I've wanted to murder Xur this season since the changes to exotic engrams. I've had 7-8 or more Aeon Swifts for my hunter in that time. At least 3 or 4 of those were from Xur's fated engram, the others were just the game trolling me with what would be exciting exotic drops turn into Aeon Swifts. It's especially annoying when I'll get a great 62+ stat roll on gloves I instantly dismantle regardless.
I'd argue that Contraverse Hold with Enhanced Ashes to Assets equals the functionality of Dire Ahamkhara while retaining the high grenade uptime of CH.
Well skull is complete dogshit exotic with no real purpose since you dont ever need to spam nova in this game and it gives you like no super energy at all. Contraverse gives you infinite grenades. Its really not a competition in the slightest, datto is just on crack dude. I wouldn’t take this tier list very seriously lol.
@@faiz486 using contraverse hold with attunement of chaos and vortex grenades. If you charge a nade and throw it on a boss (or any enemy that doesn't instantly die), contraverse hold keeps regenerating your grenade and you can spam them very quickly.
daniel whitehurst I’d say it probably works for Datto because he runs in a full team of 3 or 6 in high level content with full communication, so they’ll be chaining supers and orbs off of each other. For the rest of us who LFG (because our Clans disbanded due to how shit D2 was early in its life span), Skull feels useless ever since they nerfed the super energy regains on those exotic archetypes. Saying that you can make it work if you spec with 5 intellect mods + Bad Juju (with catalyst), but that’s a really specific build / way to play.
I'm going to be honest, I've been using the Karstein Gauntlets for so long that without it I feel super vulnerable. I've just gotten so used to healing from melee that it feels wrong without it.
You could just play devour and run Nezarick's Sin. Full heal on any kill, faster grenades, melee ability, and super energy to boot. Seems like an inferior playstyle to use Karstein Gauntlets, but if you really want to play other subclasses I could see the appeal. Or maybe it's just fun even if it's worse, which is a good enough reason to run them. I like running Getaway Artist on Chaos Reach even though it's probably still worse than just using either bottom tree or Crown of Tempests. Y'know, you do you and all.
Saw you commenting on my favorite exotic at the start of the vid, just wanted to be that guy. Sentient lasts 20 seconds, vs regular's 13. In addition, if you have a sentient arc soul out when deploying a rift, it replenishes the sentient one, bumping the time back up to 20 seconds. With a proper build, you can have that turret at an uptime of 50 or so seconds, only down for about 5-10 seconds. I think it's super solid in PvE activities, and might be worthy of a bit of a bump up.
Two things, both related to Starfire Protocol. For one, I’m not sure why it wasn’t listed in the subclass specific section along with the other Dawnblade exotics. Secondly, I think you are waaaaaay undervaluing it’s synergy with middle tree Dawnblade where it is arguably the best exotic since the strict gameplay loop you describe doesn’t really apply. Everything about it synergizes with middle tree, you get double healing grenades, your melee empowers your weapon to give you more grenades, and you can have near constant uptime of your rift if you decide to use your grenades for damage. And this all with nearly constant Benevolent Dawn procs increasing all your ability regens if you’re supporting your team. It truly turns you into a healing nightmare for high level content, I highly value it for raids. I’ve even gotten lovemail from using it in PvP, the only time that ever happens.
Was using this build to solo one of the two capture plates in the Sundial while my other 5 teammates were doing the other plate and I finished before them without a death, Starfire Protocol + MT Dawnblade is a force to be reckoned with
Add lumina to that that procs dawn with each noble rounds to give more grenade melee and class energy and you got a monster. This is my go to cause I love support classes
Honestly, I agree with most of this. Only thing I'd say different is giving Geomags a slightly higher rating. Using chaos reach to quickly melt staggered Champions in master-level activities from any distance should not be overlooked. Helps you conserve ammo on your big guns for boss dps. Or to supplement dps when you're out. You get your super back on middle tree quicker than any other Warlock subclass anyway, so being able to get it even faster AND doubling it's duration is very much worth it. Izanagi, an anti-barrier pulse, Swarm of The Raven with spike grenades, and a Geomag Chaos Reach warlock have been my go-to dps build on master-level content for a while now. It's very effective.
Agreed. With a high intellect build and geomags you can really get a lot of supers, especially if you cut your chaos reach off early to conserve energy. And chaos reach is a really good super if you can spam it; you can basically just look at any non-boss, non-match-game-shielded enemy and it dies, and any leftover energy is saved for the next major to gross your path. Very good, very fun exotic.
Opinions from sweaty boy. Transversive Steps: 4.5/5 PvP% While your're not wrong about the increased speed and reload on the go, where this really shines is warlock skating. The bonus sprint speed amplifies warlock skating to a whole different level. They also work to gain and maintain momentum on top tree dawnblade. The reload is seen as a nice bonus and the slide distance is very helpful for shotgunners. Ophidians: 4/5 PvP You fail to bring up the main draw of these gauntlets, the ready and stow speed increase. The handling boost provides the next fastest thing to quickdraw in the game. They not only increase the stow speed of your primary but also increase the ready speed of a shotgun which is only a few frames slower than quickdraw. I shouldn't have to explain how strong quickdraw is especially to shotgunners. The reload and melee range speed make little difference and are seen as are not deciding factors when running them. Sanguine: 5/5 PvP Sanguine alchemy provides wall hacks on enemies within (i believe) 28 meters. This effect does not go away when they walk out of the range as long as you are still in the rift (enemies do not have a debuff showing they are tracked like oem does) Combining this with 100 recovery, bottom tree arc or mid tree solar, empowering rift, and a high impact sniper like Revoker or Bite of The Fox and you have arguably the most overpowered loadout for 3v3s in destiny's history. With this build you get infinite rift, wallhacks, and the ability to 1shot anyone under 5resil(90% of the playerbase) the frame they peek you. Cammy made a video on this a while back but despite the attention from that not many people run it. A good fighting lion player can make this even more annoying. Getaway Artist: 0/5 PvP This exotic requires you to be on the arc subclass. The most dominant arc subclass is by far top tree solely because of it's grenades. This exotic is built around not using nades and the ttk values that the bonus dmg provides are rarely going to be the deciding factor in a gunfight. The only important ttk change is 2head 1body with handcannons. This exotic is straight useless considering the strength of not only top tree arc but also the strong nade choices the class has a whole. Astrocyte Verse: The few and far between players who use this while sniping make this thing incredibly insane. Go watch gamer use this and then cry yourself to sleep that night. Contraverse Hold: PvE 5/5 PvP 5/5 We know they're op in PvP. In PvE though, they are insane with top tree void since you get infinite nades and if you miss then your melee resets it. I think these are phenomenal in master content where spamming top tree vortex nades melt enemies.
Chibi Plutia yeah, you can two tap with a 110 rpms or require one less bullet with 360 rpm autos which already have a good ttk. You can also shoulder peak and have your arc buddy shoot whilr you are in cover, preventing opponent Regen while also telling you where they are
@@nerdherder9340 I DO 100% see this being fun in qp but it is not a viable option. I play pc and am in the highest skill division. I can see it being fun and helpful in lobbies with people running around primarying everywhere. As far as high tier play or just overall play goes, your nade is extremely powerful and losing that to help you win a primary fight is an unlikely scenario. I'm not going to try to explain the dynamics of a tryhard 3v3 game but there are not many primary 1v1 fights where your arc soul can help you. the enemy can also run away easily and it only lasts 20secons. Instead of losing an ability to help win primary fights i would rather get better at positioning and gunskill (which doesnt even exist)
I agree with the list but you missed something about Getaway artist: A high dmg Hand Cannon and the buffed arc soul allows you to 2 tap enemies consistently in PvP. Edit: Watch this ruclips.net/video/w05oFj5l61U/видео.html
You've underrated Nezerac's Sin in PVE as well. Throw on a Demolitionist/Osmosis Breachlight with some void energy and power weapons and let the grenades and Nova Bombs fly.
Make sure to ashes to assets and top tree nova bomb with a void demolitionist weapon (I use reckless oracle) and your gun feeds grenade energy like no other and your nades feed super energy like no other it’s kinda broken I get super in a few seconds when I do alter of sarrows
I personally disagree with the low rating for Sanguine alchemy. In 6v6 or 3v3 its incredibly strong if you have a team you can communicate with. Especially on well of radiance
That's highly conditional though. Everything from having to plant yourself into a well to simply get vision, to having team mates that aren't brain dead, to making sure you're communicating properly and hoping they perform how you want them to. Conditional performance, one that relies on other people no less, will *always* have less flexibility unless you're playing on a galaxy brain level with galaxy brain team mates.
Dont forget that you can technically run 3 void weapons now with the introduction of the Osmosis perk, which changes your kinetic weapon's energy tp your current subclass' upon using a grenade. This gives Nezerac's a bit more flexibility in loadout options
Top tree Dawnblade melee, with Claws of Ahamkara, and the artifact mod, Solar Plexus, really puts in work in pvp. I've gotten more melee kills from that build than I've ever got with my titan.
I've been using something similar except with Karnstein Armlets and a Jack Queen King with Demolitionist/ Swashbuckler and an Icarus mod. Aerial ranged melee kills activates a boatload of bonuses. It's really not difficult to chip away a bit of health with the JQK and finish with the fireball.
Man, I know it ain’t great, but with Chromatic Fire... I’ve actually gotten multiple kills in the crucible using it alongside Arbalest. Can confirm it’s better than Dragonfly. Super gimmicky, but I feel like it deserves better than 1.
Warlock melees speeds need to be put in line with hunters and titans. It’s no trade offs with range for why base melee is so slow. This still needs to be fixed. It’s broken. Warlock melees matter
@@Dan_Tactics as a hunter main who prefers using warlocks in crucible i think its the exact oppodite, warlocks have better melee magnetism or whatever you want to call it.
Joshua H. Agree its super good with top tree storm caller you can get an insanely long super though contraverse is still the best but crown is very good
Late reply sorry. I dunno about Crown tho, I've been running it all the time in Crucible, and if my opponents are even half-sentient, they scatter as soon as they hear me ult, and I don't get the long ult length I want. Catch-22: if I blink I lose ult duration, should I blink to catch up hmmmm... Correct me if I'm wrong tho. I'm a relatively new player, and I'm pretty sure some of you are super veterans hahah.
@@jun920918hao It can be a little tough to pull off, especially when you need the right timing to activate your Super after reading the situation. Once you do, you'll take advantage of what Crown of Tempests can offer you. If you're the type of warlock that uses lots of grenade ability in PVP, do a decent build that helps decrease the cooldown of your grenade, use the healing rift when you have to in a safe area and use one or two weapons that have the Demolitionist perk to build it up faster after a few kills. Using Masterwork Weapons that give you a ball of light after 2-target multikills will help in gaining some of your Super gauge. It's also important to judge when you want to use your abilities and when you want to save them up for the super on top tree Stormcalller. If your Super is almost about to come out, try to wait for a bit until your abilities are restored and break it out at the right time to open a can of whoopass on everyone. Just be careful of top or bottom tree Nightstalkers and Sentinel Titans that use Suppresor grenade. They'll ruin your day fast.
Getaway artist saves my life a ton in almost everything in PvP it covers my reloads as people tend to run from damage, and in PvE it tears up everything in your path with ark singe and with my grenade/melee build I'm always covered for reloads or clearing out adds. Especially considering you can run it without the ark soul rift and I play middle tree it honestly feels like having another player with me.
1.75 on Sanguine? Arguably the most broken utility in the game after HHSN? I have to disagree there boss, especially since empowering rift sniper one body shots are literally amplifies by this
m0sley While that’s true, in this case Sanguine is still incredibly strong. I used that build for Komodo and at one point I had about 50 linear fusion kills and about 10 of them were headshots.
And the artifact mod. I've been using that combo with a Jack Queen King with Demolitionist/ Swashbuckler and an Icarus mod. It is crazy how many bonuses an aerial melee kill activates. It's not difficult to take a couple of chunks out of someone with JQK and then blast them with the fireball. Health, cooldown, Swashbuckler 5x, ect.
Videos like these make me feel like a caveman wearing ramshackle tin cans for armor. I'm so oblivious when it comes to structuring my armor with a specific goal in mind haha. My reptile brain sees BIG numbers and says "ME WANT!".
Vesper is a little underrated I feel. With the right build you can chain together grenades and melee to have an almost constant rift up, couple that with a demolitionist shotty and you have a close range monster. Heals from a rift that you can also use offensively, great fun in lower level content
I've actually been having a ton of fun in 6v6 with middle tree dawnblade and Starfire protocol, carrying two charges of divine protection allows you to proc benevolent dawn often enough to be able to almost always have a grenade and rift available
Unpopular opinion, but the Geomag perk (extended Chaos Reach) should be part of its neutral game. The whole subclass has nothing to offer, other than a mediocre super that only becomes good when paired with one specific exotic. And even then top tree nova is still much better. So, the Geomag perk goes into the neutral game and the sprinting tops it off perk stays on them, maybe with a little buff to it. But currently I see absolutely no reason to play Chaos Reach.
I love Contraverse Hold, especially in PvE. I've gotten quite used to having a grenade AoE (attunement of chaos), and it's great for Master content. Charge up a grenade, toss it on an orange bar and take cover while doing great damage and usually get your grenade back within 10-15 seconds if not immediately.
Yeah its easily the best warlock exotic for nova. Datto is definitely on hard fucking crack for saying anything positive about skull of shit. Seriously take whatever datto says with a heavy pinch of salt lol
Contraverse Hold is the most powerful exotic in the game for low-manning atm. Even during a solar-based season and in activities that have no void shields. Not saying it is the best overall or better than the Skull in team scenarios or whatever but it's worth mentioning. I've solo 100k'd multiple 980's this season and nothing gets it done faster than Contraverse in most NF's.
Bro nobody uses skull lol. Its ass. Datto is on crack. Contraverse is the best void warlock exotic but a long shot. If you use devour then use sin, but datto is higher than a kite saying skull is good at all lol.
You missed a few tricks there with Nezerac's; combine it with the devour bottom void tree and it comes alive for real. When devour is active not only do you heal on every kill, you regenerate grenade energy like crazy when you combine the effect of devour and Nezerac's. To really take it over the top, make sure you run void weapons with demolitionist. You basically can spam grenades like you can with the Sunbracers, except all the time while healing yourself constantly; with the new osmosis perk you can even have a void kinetic in play, like a Breachlight with Demolitionist. This is with lots of red bars to deal with with some yellows; single target on a big boss, this is a lot less crazy. Oh, and because you do constant void damage in huge gulps with your grenade spam, the super bar goes from empty to max in a minute, minute and a half, even if you spec very low intellect. But for void warlocks, Nezerac is probably the top choice, even if it's not void only, imo. Overall, though, I'd personally probably give the nod to the new top tree solar with sunbracers. It works almost all the time, even against fewer targets.
With a decent build and a bit of strategy, I think Eye of Another World can be a good Exotic to use. It goes well with middle tree Voidwalker (Hello, Dark Matter) as it hastens the regen effect on your ablitiies and being able to mark major enemies and bosses can be helpful to keep track of then. I don't know if the marking also affects your team in finding the enemies, though. People sleep on that Exotic, but it's not as bad as some believe it is.
Datto: “I might’ve been too harsh on Vesper” Also Datto: proceeds to roast people by saying it is useless to smart players who don’t get into bad situations Don’t hate the game, hate the player Nice😂
@@colinmx. Vesper is meant for up close builds, with the right mods you're pretty much unkillable + have an AOE burst shockwave and healing. Different playstyles my dude
I believe you undervalue Contraverse Holds in PvE immensely. I might be wearing rose-colored glasses here, but unless I'm in a raid encounter stapling me to Lunafaction Boots, or Reckoning stapling me to Pheonix Protocol, all Master Level Content I'm married to Contraverse Holds, from group to solo play.
It's my go to with top tree void walker but I'll probably go back to chaos reach after the community cries about contraverse in pvp to the point that bungie kills it cause that's what they do.
Starfire Protocol is actually a great Exotic for Dawnblade, but only for Attunement of Grace: - Double fusion grenades that serve as healing grenades - Damage from Empowering Rifts recharges your nades, but that effect also works within the Well of Radiance and under the Empowered buff of the melee. Basically, you have your abilities all the time. And you can throw lots of fusion grenades while in the Well of Radiance.
Karnstein armlets are great with top tree daw blade because of the ranged melee and if you combine that with swashbuckler and montecarlo or a one two punch shotgun it makes an amazing build for pvp.
Starfire Protocol has a really good niche build in PvP. Pair Lumina with Starfire Protocol and Attunement of Grace. Use your healing/overshield grenades to initiate aggressive pushes with your team, gobble up Noble Rounds, and use those as needed to get grenades back or refresh teammates for a new gunfight. It's surprisingly effective.
Legit. I managed to get an Annihilation in Survival using Arc soul. There was a hunter in front of me hiding with like half red health, waiting to shotgun me while I finished off his friends. Arc soul came in and blew him away without me even noticing. Match ended and I was genuinely surprised as to how I got an Annihilation if I only got last hit on two enemies XD
Can confirm, Sanguine is probably a sleeper. Where it shines is Control, so activities like Iron Banner, because you need to sit still for a time when capturing. It allows you to catch people who are shotgun sneaks, and allows you to pre-aim on people who jump high around corners. That said, My hunter buddy loves the effect in survival, mostly for the same reasons listed above; he also plays many strategy games, so he values information over raw power most of the time. "If I can shoot them first, I will usually win." I tend to agree. As long as you are okay not being the carry, Sanguine Alchemy will boost the effectiveness of your teammates in many situations, and might be a good pick if you're not the best shot on your team, or find yourself loosing the corner peek and reaction-time game constantly. That said, don't try and run it if you're going solo, the PUGs will never stand in the damn rift.
You unlock the real potential of Nezarec's sin if you use a void special weapon instead of a primary. Even more of this weapon have multikill capability, like a fusion rifle. And even more if that fusion is the best ad clearing machine of the game aka the Telesto. Adding to that that now you can pretty much main Telesto due to its ammo economy with the right build (aka using it 90% of the time). For solo play it surpasses even contraverse hold, and it passes easily the master difficulty bar (while other exotics take the bar right in the head, they works on base game but are useless in master difficulty).
Getaway artist: Kinda a niche thing, but Hive armaments (or taken armaments or the like), are proc-ed by kills with the supercharged arc soul. So You can use it to get a decent grenade build then use almost exclusively heavy ammo weapons. (Hive Armaments: grenade kills on a hive target generate heavy ammo.) (Thunderlord was fun to combo with this.)
With Getaway Artist, if you eat your grenade for a sentient arc soul AND place a rift with bottom tree Stormcaller, you can refresh the timer on getaway artist. With 20 seconds, you can have it up even more. This trick basically let’s you triple the uptime on the arc soul.
You nailed it... I think the best use of the Promethium Spur is either a sword, melee, or maybe shotgun ape build. Anything where you're lane pushing. Cheers. I might try those out.
Thanks for the list! Yeah. I largely agree and it seems there's been little change for the Warlock exotic tiers. Most are ok, and only one or two "are of you run this, you *have to* run this. No 4/5 or 5/5 tier you can run this with *anything* exotics.
With my top tree dawn blade build, I have 100 discipline which gives me a cool down of 20 seconds before activating the Sunbracers. Love running the build because of the continuous stream of grenades i can throw out. Makes add clear a complete breeze and can still deal tons of damage to a boss.
Can't argue with the list. Well said. Side, I'm a Warlock main, and to this day I still don't use Contraverse Hold in PvP. It's just dumb how good it is imo. Plus I like Trans Steps more.
Just want to throw out there Datto, Bottom Tree Stormcaller's rift that gives Arc Souls refreshes Getaway Artist's Sentient Arc Soul as well. This has actually been one of my go to setups for PvE and PvP as I can constantly give the team extra damage provide add clear in Nightfalls.
Run it with armaments mods and an heavy with demolitionist and you get to have a bottomless clip heavy. Its prolly the most broken thing in the game. Datto isnt actually very knowledgeable about shit or is smoking crack, but yeah getaway artist are extremely good if not straight up the best warlock exotic with armaments.
Getaway artist is actually extremely good for doing solo challenges. Getaway artist arc souls proc any type of armament mod. With the perk you mentioned, you basically can always have the arc soul which means infinite heavy ammo as long as enemies exist.
I feel it's worth mentioning that Getaway Artist can skyrocket to probably a 5/5 in PvE if you're fighting the right enemies with a matching armaments mod equipped. You end up triggering armaments basically constantly off of the kills from the arc soul allowing you to have basically unlimited heavy ammo. Personally I run it on middle tree where you can also run ashes to assets and that along with the arc traces ends up charging your super quite fast which you can then use for tougher enemies and cancel early if possible to preserve extra super energy. Running a weapon with demolitionist combined with the arc traces and exotic bonus grenade energy also allows you essentially 100% uptime on the arc soul. Shame that I almost never actually run this because I'm so addicted to Transversive Steps in PvE and how good they are for helping speed up warlock skating and getting free reloads while you're at it. I'll also just run Worldline Zero in any activity I don't need another exotic or heavy weapon for better DPS potential. Transversive Steps are also insanely fun with a triple GL setup running Mountaintop / Martyr's Retribution w/ auto-loading & Demolitionist / Any GL but I prefer Anarchy. You can fire off one shot with Martyr's, throw a grenade, fire off another shot, swap to Mountaintop and fire off a third shot and then if you're moving you'll reload mountaintop and have Martyr's reloaded momentarily such that you can swap back to that again as well. Anarchy is great for the passive add clear on doorways as well as just sticking 1-2 on majors and such to burn them down AND it's good additional boss dps while you fire the other two GLs. The fact you can run double GL finder, reserves and scavengers means you basically never run out of ammo either. You can also run a similar build on hunter with Dragon's Shadow to reload everything at once. It's also possible to set up season of dawn mods to work with this using the charged with light on GL multikills mod and then whatever you want for either bonus damage or bonus damage reduction if your shield is ever broken. Warlock can just use bottom tree voidwalker and become borderline unkillable with Devour and all the kills and grenade energy you can get constantly.
Here are some changes I want: make skull of dire ahamkara give 20% for the first 3 kills and 10% for any kills after that. Also if you hit a boss with nova bomb you should get energy for hitting the boss with the tiny nades from top tree or vortex from bottom tree. Contraverse hold should you give you your nade energy from feed the void when you consume your nade. Blink should blink you in the direction you look and you ready time should be same as with current astrocyte. you should have an option to turn on blinking thru certain walls and have 15% resistance from special/major and heavy/boss weapon for 1 second after you blink. Astrocyte should give you 8.5m blink Give you an overshield 1 second after blinking and increase weapon ready by 30% and keep its other current effects.
I'd say this is a good list with very few oversights, and it even gave me a couple of good ideas. The only huge oversight I want to talk about is the use of Starfire Protocol on Well of Radiance in PvP. With something like the arbalest, you can 1 shot body at any range while in an empowering rift. You can then use your Grenades to heal yourself. You can throw them to teammates who are being pinched, or give yourself an overshield before peaking a risky angle. Because recovery is the meta in PvP anyway, you should run high recovery and get your rift back quickly even though you're not getting grenade kills. This is a potent build, and the Arbalest is just one of many strong empowered rift synergies you can use. You can run something like Revoker, or just a typical handcanon, or even Mountaintop. There are loads of bullshit options you can run, because every weapon feels great when you're peaking in an empowered rift with an overshield.
Dude I know it sounds stupid but dont knock until you try it. Storm dancersbrace on top tree in PvP is so good. If you run into a group of people pop super and you can kill people in 3-2 bursts and it destroys other supers
SSsss... yup, that's all notes +more on my list about my WL, and YEAH Nez Sin and Crown slaps. With PvE, void-top slaps more often and Sol-mid tree is overflows in heals and buffs for the team thanks to Nez Sin +3 void weapons. If i rarely go Arc, it's because of quick trash control with Monte Carlo Crown, and Conduction, though I don't mind more ideas for more stable synergies w/ Crown. PvP has Nezzy and Stag... if I can avoid dying. Contraverse slaps back... but then I need a good helmet... so my lost.*likes vid*
As a Wings of Sacred Dawn stan, I will say that the Heat Rises perk does seem like it contradicts it, but I usually reserve that for when flying around and hip firing with something. Wings only helps when ADS, and Heat Rises effects overall accuracy in general.
An extra tidbit about Getaway Artist; if you consume you grenade first, then use an arc soul rift, the rift will refresh your more aggressive arc soul rather than overwrite it. I’m not too sure how much more appealing that makes it.
Yup. Been maining Sunbracers for a little bit now, so much fun, use Monte Carlo in certain PVE activities and even if you mess up with a melee attack, MC refilling melee ability real quick... grenades all day!!! I apologize to many fireteams for framerate lags during any strikes :P

One thing I would add to the Starfire protocol: you can use the double fusion grenade on mid tree dawnblade to get double healing grenades. It's very effective in comp or 3v3 content, to instaheal and grant an overshield.
Yeah Astecross although a Titan main, considers that to be one of his favorite builds (he uses lumina as well)
Oh that's just dirty ;).
Starfire with double fusions and a discipline build on the new top tree means you can spend the majority of a match with Heat Rises as well, very effective in pvp especially if you're opting for guns that are less effective naturally from the air, like scouts or fusions.
absolutely! this has been my main mid tree dawn exotic since forsaken
I love using them with Hard Light/Borealis. Makes the element swapping via reload a non-issue XD
i‘m warlock main and using ophidian aspects since osiris launch. In pve i love to combinate them with grenade launcher loader and mountain top... It‘s crazy you can reload faster than with luna boots.
In pvp if you played once with them you can‘t play something diffrent because weapon reload und weapon switching feels so slow without ophidian aspects

I main Transversive Steps, probs not the best idea for when you need damage though.
@@natekite7532 Geomags and Reach are quite fun, but personally i cant play arc-warlock without arc-web anymore :)
Opinions from sweaty boy.
Transversive Steps: 4.5/5 PvP%
While your're not wrong about the increased speed and reload on the go, where this really shines is warlock skating. The bonus sprint speed amplifies warlock skating to a whole different level. They also work to gain and maintain momentum on top tree dawnblade. The reload is seen as a nice bonus and the slide distance is very helpful for shotgunners.
Ophidians: 4/5 PvP
You fail to bring up the main draw of these gauntlets, the ready and stow speed increase.
Sanguine: 5/5 PvP
Sanguine alchemy provides wall hacks on enemies within (i believe) 28 meters.
Getaway Artist: 0/5 PvP
This exotic requires you to be on the arc subclass.
Astrocyte Verse:
The few and far between players who use this while sniping make this thing incredibly insane. Go watch gamer use this and then cry yourself to sleep that night.
Contraverse Hold: PvE 5/5 PvP 5/5
We know they're op in PvP. In PvE though, they are insane with top tree void since you get infinite nades and if you miss then your melee resets it. I think these are phenomenal in master content where spamming top tree vortex nades melt enemies.
You haven't used Getaway Artist enough, then. It's an extra gun that's with you 100% of the match and gives you advantage in gunfights.

You've underrated Nezerac's Sin in PVE as well. Throw on a Demolitionist/Osmosis Breachlight with some void energy and power weapons and let the grenades and Nova Bombs fly.

I personally disagree with the low rating for Sanguine alchemy. In 6v6 or 3v3 its incredibly strong if you have a team you can communicate with. Especially on well of radiance
One word: Trials
🤣 its only worth it in few situations
godly with fighting lion
The main issue is it locks you into place with your rift/well. As a player who loves mobility I personally hate Sanguine/rifts :/

The subclass needs a rework, but it's ok.

It works almost all the time, even against fewer targets.
you havent lived until you've run dual 100 stat discipline and strenth, equip sunbracers, and become an ac130

Discipline is kinda pointless with Sunbracers though
For pvp, my stats are focused on recovery and discipline, so for mobility, I use blink with Astrocyte Verse.

He aint trying to change anyone's mind he is just talking about its usability or natural game because most exotics are situational
The stag is a beast with bottom tree storm caller
With a decent build and a bit of strategy, I think Eye of Another World can be a good Exotic to use. It goes well with middle tree Voidwalker (Hello, Dark Matter) as it hastens the regen effect on your ablitiies and being able to mark major enemies and bosses can be helpful to keep track of then. I don't know if the marking also affects your team in finding the enemies, though. People sleep on that Exotic, but it's not as bad as some believe it is.
Because it's super boring compared to other exotics. It can be effective but takes almost no creativity to build around.

Starfire Protocol is actually a great Exotic for Dawnblade, but only for Attunement of Grace:
- Double fusion grenades that serve as healing grenades
- Damage from Empowering Rifts recharges your nades, but that effect also works within the Well of Radiance and under the Empowered buff of the melee.
Basically, you have your abilities all the time. And you can throw lots of fusion grenades while in the Well of Radiance.

Arc soul is useful in pvp, it spots enemies faster than you, especially on the sides and behind
Also Nezarack Sin is 5/5 against mobs
Could *possibly* be successful in pvp
I say "you nailed it" meaning visually... seeing Dawnblade gave the build idea
That is a criminal underrating of Transversive Steps in PvE.
Brilliant video mate! You make some of the best destiny 2 content on youtube! Im subscribing and i dont usually subscribe to gaming channels.
I think Astrocyte can definitely compete for best exotic in pvp. It's a treat to use offensively and defensively on a majority of maps
Make a tier list with coolest looking exotics (with and without ornaments) because let's be honest, endgame is trying to look as badass as possible.
Thanks for the list!
Yeah. I largely agree and it seems there's been little change for the Warlock exotic tiers. Most are ok, and only one or two "are of you run this, you *have to* run this.
No 4/5 or 5/5 tier you can run this with *anything* exotics.
Yep. Thorn/le monarque + getaway artist is nasty
The ultimate trickle
With my top tree dawn blade build, I have 100 discipline which gives me a cool down of 20 seconds before activating the Sunbracers. Love running the build because of the continuous stream of grenades i can throw out. Makes add clear a complete breeze and can still deal tons of damage to a boss.
How are you feeling about contraverse hold nowadays?
Can't argue with the list. Well said.
Side, I'm a Warlock main, and to this day I still don't use Contraverse Hold in PvP. It's just dumb how good it is imo. Plus I like Trans Steps more.
You don't use it because midntree void super is shyte.
For a void subclass, OGs will remember about the The Ram headgear...
You super underrated star fire, sure 2 fusion grenades is meh but 2 healing grenades or heat rises procs is absolutely top tier
I LOVE getaway artist, since I rock a disciple build devour lock normally when I switch for strikes I can keep my arc soul indefinitely.
Hurry up @Datto upload the hunter exotic video.
Stepping in a rift with Getaway Artist's Arc soul refreshes the sentient arc soul.
I see you kept the best class for the last video of the series :)
Karmstein armlets combine with top tree dawn is slept on for pvp. Has become a survival go to. Especially with solar plexus.
I’ve been out of D2 for a while but am planning on jumping back in. What was that hand cannon Datto was using for most of the video. It’s sexy.
Karnstein Armlets with Top Tree Dawnblades Melee ability is actually insane. Underrated exotic
I love pairing Nezarec's Sin with middle tree Voidwalker, the synergy for energy regen is insane
I'd run that if middle tree voidwalker was any good :///
Wasn't there a warlock exotic chest piece that helps you get glimmer? If you're talking about the Aeon series why not those too?
That was Alchemist's Raiment from Destiny 1 XD
I've been loyal to Ophidian Aspect since D1 and you right
