I've got an old 65A and a Bosch regulator that was on my Panhead once upon a time, then I replaced it with a Cycle Electrics that I've run for 15 years without issue. Now I'm thinking of rebuilding the 65A...just because I can...now that I've watched your video....thanks.
I don't mean to be disrespectful but I know you are the man do you recommend somebody here in San Antonio that has knowledge like you do sir it is a privilege to look at your🕊 videos
The washer should be used as it throws oil clear of the timing cover breather, without the large diameter washer it wont be long before you have an oil leak. @@TatroMachine
In my ironhead servive manual it shows an ammeter, a voltmeter and a variable resistor required for the test. But, it doesn't say anything about the type of resistor, or the wattage it needs to handle?

But you haven't experienced real motorcycle Nirvana until you've dealt with the mighty 3 brush 6V generator.

tatro
a great video would be you troubleshooting all of this on a bike and showing us everything you mentioned at the end.

ベアリングはどのぐらい長く持ちますかね。ベアリング耐用年数?
Yo tatro so u dont need that wide washer on that gear end that the original generator comes with?🤔
not sure which washer you are talking about. if it is a big one under the nut that is for a sportster. big twins don't use them.
tatro
@@TatroMachine yes thats the one, I was confused because my new one didn't comes with that for the ironhead.

just do it the way i do it and it will be fine.
tatro
I noticed a missing oil throw washer, which can result in a messy scooter.
sounds like a sportster thing. bigtwins don't use the big breather washer.

What does the generator do????And why do people cut them off
It runs the water pump for the radiator
just like the name states, it generates. that would be the power that keeps your battery charged.
tatro
well that told absolutely nothing
All these old guys operate like that!!!
