All songs that The Caretaker choose have meaning, i think this one is about all your friends being gone or not being able to remember them, or simply having no more contact, as in of the last verse: ''And now that i have grown, i find myself alone''
It's like about leaving your home, most likely childhood home. In dementia, there's a point where visual recognition skills become so poor the patient's surroundings never feel like "home" anymore. Even if they lived in that house for 30+ years. It's why so, so many dementia patient's say "I want to go home! I want to go home!"
@@Beechepisode Do they remember their old home or something? Do they want to go back there? Idk, it confuses me a lot. Either they're homesick, or they just don't know where home is.
@@vibrantgleam I think they might forget that they are inside their own home after some point and they wander off to get back there. I slightly remember my grandpa during his late stages of Alzheimer's, there were a couple of times where he would get lost and me with my big brother would search for him, he was mostly near to my grandmother's house. I don't know what was going on inside his head at that moment.
The way I look at it, this is melancholic, but in ways that can apply to other causes than just amnesia; It's reminiscence, and that slightly hollow, empty feeling one gets when you dwell on memories of the past for too long, grieving over happier times that now, you can only revisit from within your mind. 'And now that I have grown, I find myself alone.'
@@diolaneiuma215 i think the line "lullaby of the leaves" is kinda talking about schizophrenia, while dementia is memory loss, schizophrenia is kinda like seeinh things ( i think)
i think this is one of the most eerie tracks in the album, especially because i _have_ heard this song a few times in my childhood. it's so melancholy yet relaxing in some parts, but here it just sounds... hollow and depressing. it gives me chills, dude.
Holy shit I just realized that these songs might be what a dementia patient who just so happens to be a musician would actually make. The mood of the songs would go with the sudden change of mood you would go through after realizing something is wrong and then finding out that something is definitely very wrong. As the mind slowly gets more fucked the music does too. They try to recall songs and memories in post awareness but it, well, doesn't really work. The lesser songs per stage also indicate it being harder to not only remember but also focus on making the song since you start to forget notes and sounds and what they are how to make them and even what it is like to hear. When we reach Stage 6, it is, as said "without description". The last music you make is just a gargled horrible sound thing that kind of sounds like music, atleast for you, but at that point you forgot that there are other people or even that you are a people. I could be wrong, I probably am, you can call me a dick and tell me to kill myself, idrk that's just what I think.
Also if you tell me my English is bad then I'm not sure what you expected from me, to use my brain?😂😂😂😂 He'll no I'm a 10 year old kid who just doesn't know tbh
That's actually a brilliant interpretation. I hadn't quite thought of it that way, but it makes absolutely perfect sense, especially considering how Kirby's said that EATEOT is his way of ending the Caretaker persona by giving it dementia. As in, it's not supposed to just be the perspective of some nameless patient, it's the Caretaker himself. He's just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, but he's determined to keep making his music until he no longer can. At the end of stage 6, he finally dies, leaving behind plenty of unfinished tracks for Kirby to release as one final album (Everywhere, an empty bliss) in memory of the Caretaker. The utter blankness of stage 6 might be the musical equivalent of someone who was once an artist being handed a pencil and a sketchbook, who has completely forgotten the purpose of those items, let alone how to draw a picture with them. At best, they might remember that the pencil makes marks on the paper. They'll scribble over the whole page, or simply leave an accidental mark in the corner. But either way, there's no image here. The drawing is without description because at this point, it's not even a drawing. PS: Kill yourself, dick. Hey, you told me to say it. Never said I have to mean it. Take care. It's a desert out there...

I learned the lyrics here and a year after I had a great time involving this song. Its only been a month but the details of it are becoming more fuzzy each day. There is a very deep irony in all of this, stumbling my way here again. Nope, I still remember, good to know.
Tbh now I want to make a version of Eateot where the Lyrics are shifted to match the song titles. With lyrics changes still being applied to re-apearances of Heartaches, lullaby of the leaves, and Goodnight my beautiful.
