Love this...but since I'm money conscious I get mine from any Dollar store and I have found some to be so beautiful and with a silky lining, I've made purses and clutches from them
This is one of my favourite video's. I have practised it with a cushion cover I had (non of the shops that sell crafting supplies are open due to Covid ). I'm not keen on the unfinished inner seems so I trimmed the waste away and covered with binding, It worked well. I had some very large buttons which I painted and attached to the outside for a bit of whimsy. Very good bag and tutorial. Thank You.
@@SewCutebyKatietv loved the idea of using the placemats. When you put the straps on, you should singe the edges(my preference)or use fray check to keep them from fraying. But really enjoyed the video. Thank you for sharing.
So cute so easy so fast thank you so much for your tutorial I get intimidated at a sewing machine so I appreciate how you went slowly and it seemed like anybody could make it thank you so much
I just got finished watching your video on how to make the matching pouch for this pretty bag. This video answers my question and fulfills my request. By the way, for a bag this large, a chip wood or hard plastic board placed inside the bottom would be a nice way to reinforce it and maintain the shape. Covering the board with fabric or vinyl will add a finishing touch. Your projects are amazing! I’m a new subscriber. Thanks again for sharing!🙏
I found cutting a cheaper almost vinal/plastic type placemat to fit the bottom of the bag (and cover it in a sleeve of the same material) works really well also.
You don't have to line the bag if you want to hide the seams... what you can do, is simply sew some binding on the seams as you sew the seams themselves - two birds, one stone.
I altered mine so that it can be used as a walker bag by putting the straps across the opening and they are not all the way attached without a parachute buckle, when I make one for my wheelchair I sew to the other side instead of the parachute buckle
Thank you for this! I am wondering what machine you are using. I recently purchased a Brother Project Runway which is way confusing for my old brain. The settings boggle me. LOL
Hello just a couple of hints I found it very difficult to see where you had sewn on the bottom of the bag. For the sake of tutorial only you might want to use a contrasting thread so it is easier for us viewers to see it. And I would reinforce those straps a lot better by sewing a square on the strap and the bag itself and then sew an X across the middle of the box, I hope I explained that correctly. But I never thought of using placemats to make a tote bag and I like the idea of using the webbing for the straps much easier thanks for sharing
hello Katie very beautiful videos very nice please kindly film how to heam a pair of jeans using your beautiful industrial sewing machine please ok?please kindly reply back ok?thank you very much

Awesome so glad I could help.
Agree! I made a quilted Tote Bag and I used piece of stiff cardboard for the bottom. 😊
I found cutting a cheaper almost vinal/plastic type placemat to fit the bottom of the bag (and cover it in a sleeve of the same material) works really well also.

Thank you! Very nice idea.! I LOVE your rings!!
Thank you! 😊
Love the red and black combination it is perfect.
Thank you!
Thank you!!!
I was wondering how big this place mat is,
I would put Fray Check at ends of straps or zip-zag the edges to avoid fraying
You can also run the nylon straps through the flame of a lighter to melt it and heat seal it.
Very pretty And great idea. 🤠🎉👍
thank you
Love It! Looks very easy to do.
Wonderful directions! I subscribed and I’m going to Hobby Lobby tomorrow !
If they were open today you'd be the car! haha Have fun sewing.
I would use sticky back.velcro
I love this!!! I really love the checks!! But I can't find fabric placemats!!! I live in a small town!!! Lol!!😅

Yes another good way to make it. Great tip.
Tfs! Great, clear steps for this tutorial 👏
Glad you liked it.
Beautiful.

Great idea!
Sew cute and simple !
It is! and fun to make.
Really like your vido, what kind of material you have for your straps?
I love this!
Great job
Very nice!
Thanks!
So stinking cute. I shared it. 💓🤗🐝🥰🦋😘🐞🌻
Thanks Lala
Good tutorial.
thank you!
Great idea to make items for craft fairs!
Another way to sew the side seams and bottom would be to overlap them and sew down each side enclosing them for a really finished look.
Yes that works also.
How long are the straps?
Cute
Thank you for this! I am wondering what machine you are using. I recently purchased a Brother Project Runway which is way confusing for my old brain. The settings boggle me. LOL
What is the width of your seams?
How large are the placemats?

I agree. If sew as suggested the straps won’t fray..
How much would you sell them for? So cute!!
Can you use 360 glue
nice,
Oh that's a pretty blouse, did you sew it?
Thanks but no I got it at Loft.
This is something I know I can do
You can do it! Have fun sewing.
I make throw pillows from placemats.
oh that's a good idea.
I WOULD PUT PLASTIC OR HEAVY CARDBOARD BOTTOM
🥰
How many inches did you use to see the sides? It did not look like you used a 1/4”.
1/2 inch
I went to watch the video and it says that the video cannot be seen on my device. I always watch you on my computer. Not sure why this is happening.
I don't know what's going on. I get the same message but the part 2 video plays fine. hmmm.
@@SewCutebyKatietv I got to see the video today, hey! Great Idea and so fast!
