You should 100% listen to voiceplays live cover of Elvira . Geoff actually did the arrangement for home frees version of Elvira which they sung with the oak ridge boys themselves .

    • @leme3503

Fake news... His arrangement was the inspiration for Home Free's version, he didn't actively arrange theirs. Home Free just based it on Voiceplay's version.

This is from the movie A Nightmare Before Christmas :) Definitely recommend watching the music video, it's one of my favourites. The guy on the far left is Earl. He was one of the original members but left a few years ago. To check out more of Earl I would recommend their Queen video! So so good!

Yeah the bearded guy is Earl Elkins Jr., he was one of the founding members of the group. Along with Geoff and Layne.....(the bass & beatboxer). He left last year around June. His last video with them was called, ''Sing". He is an amazing high tenor, he was in a video released earlier this year with Tim Foust, from Home Free. It's called ''Falling Over You''

    • @marshayoung9387

I thought Earl's last video with them was Queen In 5 Minutes. It was based on a health scare issue he was going through & I think that's why he left the group. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This, as I'm sure has been said already, is from the Nightmare Before Christmas. The gentleman you asked who he was is Earl, he was a member of the group before leaving for personal reasons ( the split was friendly ). As for starting with the live video, as opposed to the studio version, it's fine. I'm glad that THIS is the first time you were able to hear Voiceplay live, so to speak.
Fun video, as always. Can't wait to see you react to the full production tomorrow!

  • @natebaker3672

Probably the best live one of them is Road Trip. You just need one not recorded on a cell phone because it jacks up the mix. And hold on one second. You haven't seen Nightmare Before Christmas? You need to watch it with the family tonight. It was basically a Christmas movie tailor made for you.

This is my video and I just found your reaction!!!
Yes this was captured with an iPhone XS. It simply can not do them justice, esp this song!!!!! At the end, if you catch I panned down a bit because the stage curtain suddenly waved due to the vibration! You could feel it in your chest sitting in the first several rows.
In my Elvira video, I had an iPhone 6…. An older model but still did a pretty decent job catching all their vocal gymnastics.
That said, EVERYONE must see them live once they tour again! Finger crossed it’ll be soon!
Thanks for picking my video and to whomever suggested it to you!

Yes, please see their video of this. I’d say it’s considered one of the most “Geoff shining” videos since he’s the lead throughout and it showcases his agility, but the background singing of the others is super! Non of it really comes across here since the recording sound is so bad.
(I personally appreciated it even more after I watched the original song from Tim Burton’s animated movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, it’s easy to find here on RUclips. I haven’t come across the movie but only seen the four songs that VoicePlay has covered from it.)

Geoff is singing the lead character of Oogie Boogie (the villain from The Nightmare Before Christmas), Eli is singing Lock, former member Earl Elkins is singing Shock, former member J. None is singing Barrel, and Layne is beatboxing as Jack Skellington's ghost dog, Zero - hence the glowing spot on his nose in the full video of this song. If you've not seen The Nightmare Before Christmas, do check it out - it's a lot of fun. Two more of their videos; "What's This?" and "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" (spelled that was intentionally) are from the same film.

This is the main configuration of VoicePlay for a lot of their videos that will be recommended. Earl, Eli, J None, Geoff and Layne (the beatboxer) [from left to right]. You definitely need to watch the original. The song is from Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” movie. Just letting you know that J None and Earl have left the group and Cesar has been added recently. But there are videos before J None joined as well. Plus guest singers occur a lot and several times female artists have been members for a bit. Thanks for your reaction

This isn't Christmas music; it's Halloween music. It's from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, but while there are a couple of songs in the movie that might arguably be classed as Christmas songs, this isn't one of them. This one's about the bogeyman.
