Yours was the only video to address this problem. I was about to pull my hair out! I knew that the issue was in that area but was hesitant to mess with that spring thing too much. My bobbin was jumping around everywhere and making a racket. Thank you for showing how to fix it. I really didn’t have the cash to pay for a mechanic. You’re the best!!
Hello Jordan! My machine (Janome MC 6700P) had the same issue and I was about to fix an appointment with the service engineers. I saw you video and made the adjustment that you showed, and now my machine purrs like a cat. It was like a miracle!
Dude!!! Thank you! I’ve been having tension issues with my machine and searching and searching for videos to help me with this problem. Your video really helped. Thank you for making it!
This is my exact problem. rattle rattle rattle. Then sometimes it starts getting bunched up, because my thread came out of the slot. Since I owned the machine and very annoying.. He is right about turning off the machine. The Start button is super sensitive and it will start as if a ghost finger pushed the button.
Great video thanks. My bobbin case started rattling and vibrating whenever it started stitching on a Brother machine I'd had for a few months, the stitching was bunching and tangling straight away. The only slight damage I could find on the bobbin case was a very, very small scratch on the underside. Anyway I changed out the bobbin case for another and it fixed it. It looks like this thing is very sensitive to any slight damage.
Thanks for the fix but when you put bobbin back in it's upside down thread should come of counterclockwise and you have it running clockwise. Just in case you are having a issue now with it.
This was a great video, Thank you so much Jordan! I was troubleshooting my machine while I was making a video and I came across your channel, I did exactly what you said and my machine is working perfectly. I had made myself a 1-hour time frame to fix my sewing machine, or I had to take it to be serviced. I found your video at the last 20 minutes, and it FIXED IT..............................I have subscribed to your channel for sure. I gave you a little shout on my channel as well.....Thanks again 😊

wow thank you for sharing this. now i can use my machine again. I just bought it last year and use it now to make myself busy at home but that problem happened.
Make sure presser foot raised all the way up before you thread to open up all tension disks. Hold the threads tails of both the bobbin thread and the needle thread in back of presser foot and pull at least 5” of threads to back of machine and hold onto them. Make sure presser foot is down against the needle plate and turn the big wheel on the right side of machine TOWARD you to put needle into the fabric. Holding thread tails taut, take two stitches forward. Then hold reverse button and stitch in reverse to lock stitch. Always manually lower needle into fabric before continuing to sew. What needle did you use? If the thread feels “tight”, the needle may be incorrect type or size for weight of your thread. You definitely will find it smooth sailing with a couple basic sewing lessons to avoid these problems. That bobbin area bent because you did not use correct method for sewing and the lint build-up was forcing bobbin to wiggle as the bobbin case tried to “ride” over the debris underneath of it. Just trying to help. ALWAYS UNPLUG MACHINE FROM WALL UNIT WHEN CLEANING AND WHEN REPLACING A NEEDLE, and never start sewing with presser foot raised. Don’t change stitch pattern with needle in the fabric. You will get a nest and probably a jam. Much success to you!😉
Don't normally comment but just wanted to thank you for being a lifesaver. I'm in the middle of an art project involving textiles when I got the unfortunate headache of nonstop birds' nests while sewing and was pulling my hair out. Researched online and found your video. It exactly addressed the problem I was having. You did an awesome job explaining the issue and how to fix it. I did what you showed me and it worked! I am back to work on the project, avoided a costly and lengthy repair, and ever so happy. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hello Jordan, THANK YOU. My machine had this issue and I didn't know what was wrong so I thought I had to take it into the repair shop and I am trying to finish a project in a few days. You're a life saver!!

I have that clicking going on with my Brother Stellaire. It’s just weird: I took my bobbin case out to clean the machine, I must’ve reinstalled it incorrectly because now the bobbin is bouncing where it wasn’t before. I don’t have the thread bunching but the bobbin is still bouncing. To eliminate the nest, I very slightly reduced the bobbin tension and raised the top tension.
Hello Jordan. I came across your video by searching for my problem. So...i have a SC220(SINGER). My problem is...that the threat under it stuck when i m sewing and it tangles and stuck my fabric or into that teeth under or in all that threat that tangle under in there.....Sometimes the threat under the fabric remains loose while sewing so the reverse of what i sew i can see it🙄And the last issue...that little "knot" of the what you called case(the black case i. Which u ll put the bobbin ) that lil knot aint hit that metal "pedal" like.....but it is a bit more front side and which makes go and stop after the small pedal,it stops into that piece of metal right next to it.I tried to put it in place like how i see but...holy crap isnt "catching " the place.I am beginner, yhis is also my first sewing machine and i really dont know much about.....
Ok try this..... Take the thread-bobbin out and clean everything, then, put it back and see. Also, your Thread Tensioner (On Top with Dial Number) may be too tight. Dial it back to 0 or 1 *NOTE:* 1. When the Bottom Thread too loose or tangle = Top Dial Tensioner or Dirty or Thread is caught due to fabric. 2. When Top Thread not normal = Bottom Tensioner or Bobbin Holder Tensioner
Thank you for sharing this video. My issue was different from yours but I watched and listened to you and 13:53 "the case" was the key in my situation! I had been sewing off and on for hours and I don't know what happened but it was misaligned and the needle kept getting stuck. Thanks to you and patience it's fixed now! I have the exact sewing machine as you do and have all the same problems that you do with yours. The singer patchwork. Thanks for this video it helped me a lot.
I've been having problems when I try to see knits. To the point I have to turn my tension up all the way. I'm going to try this I'm thinking this is what the problem is. Thanks for sharing this.
I can’t wait to try this out tomorrow morning! I have been working on my machine for 3 days trying to fix this same problem! Fingers crossed it works. Nothing open during Covid -19 shut down.
This is close to solving my problem. The little lip that sticks out of the plastic case that holds the bobbin and touches that small metal tensioner is pressing too hard against the tensioner so the string can’t pass by it. It’s too close to the tensioner rather than the tensioner being the issue. This helps though thanks.

Hello. Thank you for the video. I fix machines often and have never come across this issue till recently. Your fix to the issue worked perfectly. I am hoping you have figured out why your machine started running on you without the pedal. It was because your machine is equipped the a start/stop button feature. It is the bottom button on your machine front. As long as that machine is plugged in, that button is functioning. Many of the newer Singers come with this function. It is nice to use the machine without a pedal such as when using the decorative stitches where you want an even speed. I use it often on my machine. When you first use it make sure that you set your speed at a lower pace until you are accustomed to not using your pedal. You did a wonderful job with your vid with the instructions the camera closeups, everything. Blessings
Hi, unfortunately, this is not a button pressed or anything. When I touch it with the screwdriver to adjust, that is when it goes wacko. Remember, I wasn't able to shut it down at all. *NOTE:* I wish it was the button. At least I am able to let the button go. 😁😆😅🤣😂

Wow.. Thankyou so much.. I was about the throw away my brand new machine..well I've had it 2 years and it was gifted to me. I just couldn't figure out why it was so noisy. Thank you ever so much for this video and information. I, too, was having this same problem and really do not know when it all started, but has been getting worse as time progressed. Make sure presser foot raised all the way up before you thread to open up all tension disks. Don’t change stitch pattern with needle in the fabric. You will get a nest and probably a jam. Much success to you!😉

You can try my NO SEW Mask in my Channel if you aren't able to fix.. It's really EASY + FAST + 3 Minutes most. Stay safe!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is close to solving my problem. The little lip that sticks out of the plastic case that holds the bobbin and touches that small metal tensioner is pressing too hard against the tensioner so the string can’t pass by it. It’s too close to the tensioner rather than the tensioner being the issue. This helps though thanks.
your commentaries had me cracking up. I dont have the issue, but found you entertaining, so I watched til the end. hahaha
😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️

Have to order a new one.

Wow! I followed your video and fixed my machine. Thank you so much.
You are welcome!
@@JodBronson So sorry to hear that. I was hoping I could help you. I repair a lot of machines but mostly vintage and antique. Thanks again for your great vid
This was a big help. Thank you! I sew with no shoes so I can feel my pedal to avoid an accident. I do shut down when working on my machine.
Oh my gosh THANK YOU! I spent $80 to have my sewing machine tuned up because I thought it would FIX this, and when I got it back it DID IT AGAIN and I thought I was going to teach my sewing machine how to fly through a window LOL

You saved my life, than you!!!!
I have Juki but the system around the bobbin case is practically the same as your Singer, and that tention thing is what messed it up. I did exactly what you did and now my machine is back to it's healthy sewing 😍
You are welcome!
Thank you ever so much for this video and information. I, too, was having this same problem and really do not know when it all started, but has been getting worse as time progressed. I found the tension spring was nearly to the right side, so no tension on the bobbin thread at all! Go figure! Thanks again for your invaluable help, especially on this particular machine! Llama Lady
You are welcome!
I think your machine is haunted 😂😂😂 great video though
YES !!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Check other comments too. It's not just me, it "haunted" someone else too! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Did you realise you put the bobbin in the wrong way up. Should turn anti- clockwise as on diagram on left on machine. Will keep an eye on spring.
