I felt for gim. Everytime the commissioner praised Phelps and left Berkowski out of it, you can actually see the hurt in his eyes. He was a good sport about Phelp’s promotion.
One more plus point from me about this game is that the casting for the actors is just phenomenal. They actually paid attention about the facial features of people from that era.

Probably my favorite videogame moment ever takes place at the 1:07:11 mark. Phelps' interaction with the drunk outside of Cavanaugh's Bar. Cracks me up every damn time lol😂🤣
I apologize if anyone out there is getting annoyed by these events that I post. But there's one thing I've noticed about Phelps throughout the entirety of the story. When he's chasing a suspect on a rooftop & eventually loses visual contact with the perp this always happens at the 23:20 mark. Phelps' scream followed how his body just goes limb cracks me up every. single. time.
This is one of the many games that I own that I say worth the money. Good thing I waited for the complete edition on the ps3. Game got me hooked so bad I bought it on Switch and ps4
I wish Rockstar released more games period. Remember how they used to release stuff every year? GTAIV - 2008, GTAIV expansions - 2009, Red Dead Redemption and its expansion - 2010, L.A. Noire - 2011, Max Payne 3 - 2012, GTAV - 2013. Now we get one game every 5 years that's monetized to hell with its online component.

Each case does feel like an episode of a detective show. The makers of the game said they were influenced by Dragnet in addition to Jazz music and all those film noir movies.
Phelps is one of the most likable and well rounded protagonists I’ve ever seen. He shows respect to all who deserve it, and does everything he can to uphold the law.

I'm watching this "Cutscene Movie" again for easily the 4th or 5th time. But one thing that really gets me everytime is the opening montage w/ Biggs narrating over. It's just so stinkin' good. 👍

This will be the 3rd time/moment that I found quite amusing/interesting /etc. At 20:30 as Officer Phelps is kicking ass & taking no prisoners. The final bank robber's last words are pretty darn funny and truth be told I'd probably end up saying the same thing lol.
The first time I played LA Noire there were a great many things that I never noticed. To be fair there's so much to digest on that initial run. But upon my second go round those subtle "Easter Eggs" became much more noticable and really added an extra layer of depth to the characters & the story in general. A prime example in my humble opinion is @ the 4:25:00 mark. Really pay attention to our boy, Phelps. 🥃🥃
There's plenty of jump scares throughout the game. But there's one that really got me by surprise. It takes place at 5:08:40. This particular one got me so bad, that not only did it make me jump/flinch but inadvertently my being startled scared the heck out of my poor dog. She's just laying on the couch, head in my lap, dead asleep and......ahhhhhh! It didn't stress her out too much, she was back to sleep within a few minutes. Regardless, I felt so bad about it. So as my way of apologizing I got my little lady a tasty treat 🐕🦺🥩
I've always felt that this game is criminally underrated. I picked up a copy maybe 3 or 4 months after it's release for Xbox360. Upon opening it up, my immediate thought was "holy shit! 3 discs, 3 freaking discs. This is one hell of a long game." But once I popped it in & got a feel for it I was hooked. Especially when you start investigating "The Black Dahlia" murderer. That was some straight up grade A horror movie stuff. With all that being said, I can understand why this game wasn't for everyone. My conclusion (for what it's worth) is when the general public sees that "Rockstar Games" logo on the cover, they assume it's gonna be a "run & gun, GTA type experience." Which obviously LA Noire is not a complete GTA clone. But there is definitely a familiarity to it, that's signature to Rockstar Games. I also think the length of the game was another factor. And by no means am I taking shots at anyone who didn't have the same experience as myself. With my rambling aside, I would be ecstatic if they ever made a sequel or something quite similar. But from what I've read (via online articles & physical publications) the likelihood of that happening is pretty much slim to none.
