    Thanks for the great tips. I've done a bleached shirt before for my daughter's volleyball team, but I had big blots in it. It still turned out pretty good, but now I know how to stop the running. Thanks again😊

    What will happen if you don't do the peroxide bath in the shirts before washing with detergent?

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  13 дней назад +1

      The peroxide stops the bleaching. From our experience and research, if you don’t do this step, even if you wash it, the bleach will continue to work its way through the fabric and leave some holes.

      @@StudioR12Stencils thank you that explains why my work shirts have holes where I got bleach for the sanitizer water on them unknowingly. If you do a peroxide bath after washing does it help?

    what are you blotting before spraying the bleach?

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  9 месяцев назад

      Patty sprays the bleach, then blots the area to keep the bleach from running, then spray, and blot, etc. ☺

    How long do you need to let the bleach soak in?

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  Год назад

      That is going to be personal preference. You will start to see the bleach changing the color. If you want it subtle, you'll do less time. If you really want it to pop, you'll leave it longer before you soak it.

    Tried bleaching a stencil on a flannel shirt, doing just how you explained. It turned out as a bleached blob ???? So then I tried blotting the bleach on the stencil, not as bad but not good??? Watching you video it doesn't look hard, but I must be doing something wrong. Do bigger stencils work better??

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  7 месяцев назад +1

      Patty recommends a lighter application of the spritzing. You want it to be a mist, so you are not getting too much bleach on the fabric. You definitely did the right thing by blotting off.
      You can use an adhesive on the back of your stencil to help prevent the bleach from bleeding under.
      And we always recommend using a test surface, in this case fabric, until you are comfortable and happy with the results before you move on to your real surface or shirt.

      Have you had any issues with the strength of bleach causing holes in the fabric? We tried one that had a stronger bleach - maybe even 100% bleach - and it ended up looking like a moth got to it with all the holes.

    every time a do a shirt the bleach spreads under the stencil SMH how do you get the bleach to stay

    • @StudioR12Stencils
      @StudioR12Stencils  4 месяца назад

      Use a light amount of bleach - you can always add more if you need to, but it will keep the bleach from spreading.
