  • Okay, so I found all of the Powerslave master tapes for Two Minutes to Midnight, and I put each track into the studio and checked it with the original. They appeared authentic. I then took all three tracks (2 guitars and a bass) slowed them, and transcribed each note. So, this should be note for note off the album. I then went back into the studio and re-recorded my own version of 2 Minutes from the transcriptions. I'm playing and singing everything myself except for the drums. That re-recorded version is the one you are hearing on this video. I have also created a special audio mix for this bass tab video wherein the bass and drums are louder than the guitars and vocals. This is so that you can better hear the bass line.

This is the most accurate cover I've heard. Nothing wrong with using a pick either. If Steve Harris were to pull out a pick mid show though, I think I'd throw up.

Excellent tab, going to use this to learn this song. Nice performance as well but I still think playing this with a pick is sacrilege :D

Great job. Thanks for posting this! Nevermind the picktards. It sounds even better with a pick!

Bass needs to be louder. Otherwise good.

Playing Bass with a pick in a Iron Maiden song is almost a crime

Now come on, don’t use a pick to play Steve Harris bass lines. That’s cheating

mostly accurate in terms of notes but the playing positions are often well different to Steve's, you can see by his live playing. He pedals the open A string in the main riff and also includes a loop around C and D in the verse in addition to the Em loop

I accept the pick because your work here is amazing

That is a excellent job you have done. And the singing is great even if it is on the back ground.Concerning the bass tab,it is a brilliant effort you have made,as i have never found an accurate tab for that song (especially for this E in the main riff wich is in many tab a C...) Great job, really!!

Great cover. As for some of the other comments...Fingers, pick, use what ever you like. As long as you're having fun, that's the main thing. Never understood the snobbery surrounding the fingers Vs pick debate. Roger Glover's bass line in Highway Star, for instance, wouldn't sound the same without a pick.
