If you want to do the rear corner next, then do the rear corner. It looks awkward, but will resolve the rear end, then you can move forward.

Wendy and the polishing mop made me laugh.
Reminded me years ago I bought a brand new copper & hide mallet, when I got home with it I put it on the coffee table and forgot about it.
I had to go out and run some errands and when I got back my dog Lizzie (Scottie/Lab mix) had eaten the hide end of my new mallet :)

Trust Jon gets better soon and does make the bike ride. My moto was to get all the worst jobs out of the way first then enjoy the rest. I think once you have finished you should do a hour or more long montage of all the work done so you can see it from start to fiinish in one go. Just keep them coming Dom.

It’s the “Dom and John Show” said in a musical way 😄.
Maybe crack on with the lower rear quarters. Once done you’re bound to feel better as things are moving on.
So many intricate shapes, inspiring to watch great craftsmanship at work. Looking forward to the next video…. 👍🏻

Hi Dom' . Well if at first you don't succeed .......3rd time lucky ! Dom' , l've been fabricating for nigh on 54 years and believe me l still get it wrong ! That panel in front of the boot lid is commonly known as the tonneau panel . I'd make that lower rear wing in 2 sections . Put a lip on one section and then tig the 2 together . Get better soon Jon !

I don't know if it helps but when I did a panel shaping course the course leader told us of a method using fibreglass reinforced tape to create a reference of a good body panel. The reference could then be reversed to serve as the reference for the panel being shaped. Briefly, the panel would be cleaned, and the area to be referenced dusted with talc. The reinforced tape would be layered onto the panel several times, carefully removed, and the glue powdered with talc. The tape reference could be put over the panel being formed and where in didn't fit properly against the new panel, where there was an air gap between the two, needed more wheeling. It was pretty effective at creating mirror panels.

If you do the rear corner don’t try and do it as one piece - have a join where that crease is - that way you can have two curves that aren’t fighting against each other. I’ve messed up too many bits of bodywork through trying to create multiple curves in one piece and realised after a while that the curves are fighting against each other. I appreciate the original was probably one piece but I’m guessing they will have stamped it out on a mold

Great use of tools like the English wheel to make panels. Especially when you can't buy them. But where does the description start and end for something original, when 80% of it is new?
Keep making panels, I'm learning so much.
