that is why i concluded that i respect the developers for having recorded and sorted all those samples. but it should still just be a samplepack, because the fact that it's a plugin doesn't really add any workflow benefits. it often seems like software for video producers is just more expensive than the software for music producers, even if it does less
@@Beatsbasteln I think some of it comes down to the fact that not all producers might have a good system for sorting through their samples. There are external software good for categorizing, previewing, and browsing through samples but a lot of people still use their DAW's default media browser or... their OS explorer and media player. Some might find it more convenient that it's been precategorized and laid out for them in a sample machine that they can just mash buttons to get instant results for. Also, due to all the other factors and since not everyone has a good sample machine plugin, people more comfortable working with MIDI and have no sample machine plugin to just drag the samples into might find this easier overall to use. I've seen a lot of free stuff like this too where people put sound effects into SF2 files instead of distributing only as loose. I do agree that these is kind of weird and comprehensive sample packs are marketed more towards people with less tools and know-how, though. If you're gonna shell out that much money for something like this, I think it being a plugin or Kontakt library just makes it more annoying for the kind of person that'd actually want this.
There is also some cleverness going on with sample selection possibly. Round robin, Heel/toe sample timing, left/right foot, scuffs, jumps, different tempos of walking. This also replaces (or tries to) a foley artist, which are easily 1000+ per day. If you look at it like that, its very cheap.
@@tallenvor would be cool if you were right but i don't see buttons for various walking styles on the interface, as pointed out in the part of the video where someone slides on a surface in a freesound.org sample. and even if it had that complexity, it could still just be a samplepack letting you drag samples from the browser to the project in order to frame-perfectly place each step's main impact. i would never accept loose midi notes roundrobbining a bunch of samples for a serious film
youd be suprised how many out-of-the-box foley tools there are for quicker video sound effect work. obviously actual physical foley work is expensive af and placing individual sound effects manually in a daw for- say- a movie is seriously time-consuming
@@ColonelMidi yeah, but i made the point that simply dragging samples from a samplepack into the project would be faster than midi-triggering round robin samples cause you end up having to bounce to audio and redo the positions anyway
i felt like i wanted to talk some shit again. there were almost no plugins i actually wanted to try lately but many ads for stuff like this that just made me go "eeeehhhh"
Also note that the effort in recording and editing can be enormous.
I know of libraries with 40 - 50k samples in them.

I feel like you have potential to have a much bigger RUclips channel for music production. I enjoy your takes on things.
thx :) size doesn't matter tho
@@Beatsbasteln i just mean i like your content and a lot of people would probably feel the same way if they were exposed to it.

I think "are you in need of feet?" would be more correct. If you feel the need for feet, you are then in need of feet
right. i was still in the need for speed analogism mode with my mind
Huh?😂
