Great to hear Kathy's perspective. I chuckled thinking of "little Kyle" back there in the 2nd row pushing all the buttons, playing with the sun shade, and telling mommy to drive faster.
Appreciated both of Kathy's GV60 reviews. Got my GV60 10 days ago. Lots to learn and Genesis RUclips videos and the quick reference guide was quite helpful during most of the setup. No difficulty setting up the digital key pairing with my android phone. Still deciding on 'favorite' button assignments and like Kathy's idea of the home screen assigned to the left favorites button. The right phone button on the steering wheel is multifunctional and will end a call when pressed again during a phone call. That leaves the star button open for another feature. Not 100% crazy about how WAZE performs using Android Auto. Some route features seem to not be available. Thanks again for all of your reviews!
The GV60 looks better than the closer design VW id4. It is a lovely sporty EV design by Genesis, I hope to buy this EV someday, the more I look at it, the more I like it.
I love the fact that you guys are just normal people showing other normal people how to live a normal life with electric cars! My wife and I are in our 50/60's and just want our cars to be comfortable, reliable and not be stressed over charging....and have a little spice with the accelerator when we need it. Right now we have a Tesla Model Y but really like some of the CCS cars/trucks....but aren't willing to deal with the supercharger alternatives yet. Kudos to you!
Hello Kathy great update on your GV 60 , I also just got mine 3 weeks ago mine is the advance like you I love the seats in your performance the good news is here in Canada the advance has the same trim level as the performance . I would really recommend getting the Apple car play adapter its worth every penny . Like you I love the car I did drive both performance / advance and to be honest in comfort mode you really can't tell any difference , I find the handling just fine I know Kyle was not too impressed with it but we do have to remember this is a touring car not a track car . The only fault I would pick is the center console I wish it was a little deeper also if it would slide like the Ioniq5 would have been nice , it is a little difficult to getting front of it to plug into the USB's . All in all the car is amazing for the price it has to be the best in its class. Thanks again for a great video.
Got GV60 all thanks to you and here to help you about cellphone connections with your car. For us we had some frustration to try to connect it too until we received an email from Genesis that now our phone will be able to use it as key and we did it. And since it was only allowed one cellphone to set it up but you can share it to make secondary driver. So I think you need to go check your email that you gave it to Genesis first , ours comes after 1 week later from purchased date. Hope this will help as you helped us to make the decision
Your review was one of the things that pushed me to buy one. I TOTALLY LOVE THIS VEHICLE…. I had a Tesla 3 and Tesla Y and a Polestar 2. Hands down the Genesis GV60 is my favorite!!! I was surprised to hear you traded it in to go back to a modelY….In any case, thank you for the great reviews of the GV60. It truly is my favorite car ever.
Hi Kathy and Dave from Steve in Australia. I stumbled across your videos a few weeks back and you are partially responsible for me ordering a GV60 ! I really enjoy your videos and the common sense reviews. You see in April 22 I had ordered a top of the line Genesis GV70 3.5 litre twin turbo petrol - I thought this would be my last petrol car before I made the jump to electric. Anyway to cut a long story short my GV70 was supposed to be delivered in Oct/Nov 2022 but it was pushed back to next April 2023. I knew Australia was getting a small allocation of GV60s and had seen some info on the the GV60 and asked Genesis if there was any chance of getting one. Could you believe it - there were 3 ! 2 lime and 1 navy blue. So sight unseen - apart from your RUclips and other videos - I ordered it ! Supposedly Australia will only get 130 GV60s this year. Sold out except the 3 noted. I’ve been told my car is here and I should get it in a few weeks. I’m very excited to get this car. The GV60 has glowing reviews and the sister Kia Ev6 won our Australian Car iof the Year earlier this year - so the GV60 should be a knockout ! I’ve been a car nut since a kid but never thought I’d buy an electric car at this time. But here I go and I’m excited ! I’m 60 by the way. I’ll let you how I go - FYI in Oz a GV60 Advanced is $112,000 Australian and Performance is $122,000 Australian. Both are top spec but of course the Performance has the Boost button and bigger wheels/ adaptive suspension. My Navy body / White interior is an Advanced. How fast do I really need to go !! Anyway keep up the good work and thanks for reading !
One day I will own one of these. When they eventually bump up the range to at least 350 and I don't have to deal with a dealership to get one. I really love the way they look inside and out.
Great video, FYI, I live in Sausalito California where we have many power outages!! I installed a 4 breaker generator transfer switch which I use with the GV60!. It can easily run the refrigerator, gas furnace fan, some lights and the internet router for a 2-3 days!!, no need for a expensive generator any more!!
I'm seriously considering a used GV60 letting someone else buy the new off of it and seeing them in the 40k range with low miles. Great informative video. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Same. I originally wanted an EV6 GT. But after riding around in my wife's I-Pace I'm ok with trading off some performance for a higher quality interior. And the EV6 GT doesn't have seats with ventilation or power, which is a must in my part of the country.
@@jghall00 I sat in an EV6, Ionique 5, GV60 and GV70 all in the same day. I wasn't impressed with the seats or interior of the EV6 or the Ionique 5. The interior of the GV60 was truly unique and awesome in my opinion and the driving experience fast fun and overall great. However with me being wide bodied, not fat but big framed, 6'4" 185lbs 63 years old, the seat bolsters squeezed my ribs in a way that quickly became uncomfortable. The GV70 was perfection in comfort and driving experience and the seats were to my liking. The price was off-putting though. I bought a 2023 Tesla Model 3 Standard RWD this past weekend at 1/3 the price of the Genesis Models to have my first EV experience. Under bumper to bumper warranty until Dec 1 2027 and battery warranty until December 2031. A Deal From The Lord I am content with! The tech is head and shoulders above any other EV I have experienced so far. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Loving your videos. Part of why I pulled the trigger on my performance was your videos. I’m like Kathy and I love my car! So does my 15 year old. On the plug and charge have you seen the few videos around Apple car play and the EA app? I haven’t charged outside of the house but I think that might be something close to plug and start. I drive 85 miles in Atlanta traffic and the seats are probably my favorite. Have you tried auto regen for the highway?I find it’s great for traffic and when not so much traffic it coasts well. Also for the digital key make sure you add it to your Apple wallet I used the Genesis video to set mine up since my car was shipped to me and it works great.
Dave, I love all your videos. You have passed Kyle in my favorites. That said, VTL is a gimmick for anyone who is not a camper. I love one pedal driving in my 2021 Tesla dual motor LR. Superchargers will be the greatest reason for not buying other makes.
What a great video. I really enjoyed Kathy’s input on the Genesis. Good to have a perspective of just an everyday driver that wants comfort and reasonable performance. Learned a lot about the car. Genesis should pay her commission on all the new sales she just generated. Thanks.
Great demo, Kathy! I'd love to see her give some rides to her co-workers to hear their impressions of it. It strikes me as a top-of-the-line Ioniq 5 with even more luxury and amenities. I love it! The only thing I don't like is… my pet peeve: I prefer cup holders side-by-side, not front-to-back. Dave, if I were you, I would have bought two of these, his & hers, rather that your Tesla. Things it needs? Mmmm… a "granny" cable for both 120V and 240V; something like DashCam, Sentry, and Dog Mode. Are the seats ventilated? Does it have a HUD? OTA updates?
I really enjoyed this one, the pumpkin spice muffin especially looked tasty. One thing was the peanut butter creamy or crunchy LOL 😉 keep the good videos coming have a blessed day.
There is no extra boost between level 1,2 or 3. All it is doing is changing where the digital point between accelerate and regen is, therefore it feels like you are getting a boost by going to level 1, because effectively your foot is now pressing the accelerator more, without moving your foot. I hope that makes sense.
Please do a winter update, very curious to see/hear how those door handles will function if the exterior is iced over. Will the face detection camera still work if it's covered in ice?
I also am very curious about how this car will do with harsh winter conditions. I take mine to Florida for 3 months so I can’t tell. I’m a bit worried about the extreme heat though. Can’t fit it’s “wide body” into our tiny one car condo garage built in the 90’s. I’m more curious about how it fares mileage wise due to these more extreme temperatures. ie air conditioning/ heat. So far, I’m not overly pleased with my actual mileage (?) in temperate conditions. Maybe had unrealistic expectations? Range anxiety?
I agree. Charging at home cost just a few dollars. I have Level 2 chargers at my regular home and also at my beach home, both here in NJ and it truly takes away any range anxiety since I can drive just about anywhere in the state without worry. I wake up every day with my GV60 ready and fully charged, just like my phone:) And when I make those 100+ mile trips back and forth to the Shore I usually "top off" at an Electrify America charger since I have 3 years of free charging included when I bought my GV60 at the beginning of August!
Hello David and Kathy. Yes the GV60 is a nice looking car. Great if you charge at home. But then again. If you travel , you have to deal with EA and chargers that are not always working. Any way. I understand that you are a VIP in Marco Island also with Tesla ! Maybe you can convince Tesla that we need chargers in Marco. As of now I'll have to to go to Naples to charge my 22 model 3. I did some checking on plugshare and you have to pay $30 for valet parking at the Marriott to use the destination chargers. Not Good .I enjoy you videos. So: keep up the good work.
Remember when in zero regenerative braking you will be using all mechanical braking, even in level one you get regen when using the brake pedal and letting off the accelerator.
How often do you miss the rear window wiper? I think the lack of one would be a deal breaker for me. Can’t imagine the rear window doesn’t get filthy all the time without that wiper. Just my thoughts
Genesis GV60 beat Tesla Model Y Performance, BMW iX xDrive 50, and Ford Mustang Mach-E GT P.E. in a quarter-mile race. Genesis GV60 = 12.30 seconds Tesla Model Y = 12.33 seconds BMW iX xDrive = 12.4 seconds Mustang Mach-E GT P.E. = 12.6 seconds The crystal sphere made GV60 seem more futuristic. It is luxurious and unique. Perhaps, Genesis' signature for interior. Either way, it's a new idea of an elevated style. Most people love it! GV60 have too many cool features, including facial recognition to unlock/lock, and fingerprint scan to identify the driver and turn on the vehicle with custom settings. After the scans, you'll never need your key anymore. Tesla brag about using phones as its key, but GV60 only need you. However, the key is also a remote controller to move GV60 forward or backward when other vehicles park too close for the driver to enter and doesn't want to scratch the doors. It doesn't turn on the vehicle, but the key can still move it slowly. The key can also be used for self-parking, even from a 90 degree angle to the parking spot, and it works great in city parking blocks. Sometimes, it's better to park after the driver exits. It's a multifunctional key, remote controller. The charging port can also be used to charge other electrical vehicles, phones, laptops, cooking grills, sleeping bags, and even a refrigerator during power outage. It's not only used to charge the vehicle. It can get charged from 10% to 80% in only 18 minutes. Impressive. The Boost button grants 55 extra horsepower for 10 seconds. For the best result, press it while you're flooring the acceleration during a race. That is when you'll truly notice the difference. People admit that it definitely helped during close races. It's pointless to use the Boost during normal driving because the vehicle isn't even accelerating fast in the first place. During a race, what else can you do after you step down the acceleration? Boost! It's cool how it talks to the driver with a robotic-ish/human voice, such as when charging. It's classy. The list goes on. I love the exterior design, especially the front. It looks sporty/luxurious and a bit futuristic. That "lightning⚡️ or Z" shape behind the side-rear windows symbolizes electricity, stating "I'm an electric vehicle." It wasn't random. The screen offers 3-d view of the vehicle to change/seek. It can also show a third-person view of your GV60 from the outside. This helps for the driver to be completely aware of its surroundings. I'm seriously thinking about trading my Porsche Cayenne for it after one more year.
That's a first...Toast... on a EV review. Kathy needs her own channel. She is a RUclips rock star. And if Genesis used her review, a few million women would buy the "Comfort:" Genesis GV60. This GV60 review was way better than that other 'Out of Spec' Guy... err Whatsis name ?
I feel like Kathy has been reading my mind.. I couldn’t agree more with every thing she said. I absolutely love my GV60. Only problem…..no charging stations on or close to Marco Island. Will install an other amazing “charge point” home charger in my garage in Marco. I can fully charge ( from around 20 % to 90) in a few hours right at home. I do have a small amount of “range anxiety”, due to very cold temps ( NYS) and very hot temps (Marco). I’ll be testing both situations very soon. I’ll keep you posted. ❤❤ my GV60
@@dorotheafarmer1628 So, where do you charge up? Seems closest charge is at the Walmart on Collier Blvd. a few miles past intersection of Collier and 41. Hopefully getting one installed in my garage at the end of this month. Doesn’t help get across Alligator Alley. I’m very dissatisfied in the availability of charging stations where I seem to want to go. (ie: non major cities) Thinking I may have jumped the gun on this one. Just couldn’t fathom buying an old school gas engine car. I had my car transported by “Empire Transport” out of Syracuse, NY. Don’t know where in NY you are, they may be too local. I’ve used them for years and they’ve always been super dependable. I highly recommend them. You are not far from me, just over Judge Jolly. I’ll keep a look out for you! Lime green/ NY plates. Mine is pearl white/ NY plates.
I spend the summers in Bolton Landing on Lake George. We have chargers in both our houses. It's very convenient. I'm not familiar with public charging stations. I think traveling long distances will be inconvenient.
@@dorotheafarmer1628 I love to drive up to the Adirondacks in the fall. I didn’t go this year due to total lack of charging station stations once I left the Syracuse area. Sure, I could get there. But, couldn’t get back! Don’t have my own charger up there. Once again, very limiting. Still, love the car!
Great video. In future vids I would suggest blocking out your license plate # when editing. That can be traced to your address and possibly compromise your privacy. These are weird times....
Awesome video. Question, when using Waze/Google Maps/Apple Maps for say a long road trip, they don't do any charge route planning correct? So for a long road trip, you'd have to use the built in navigation? Also, if you use any of those 3 Map applications I mentioned, does the HUD get the information like when to turn, etc?
Nice practical take on the vehicle. How common is it for EVs not to include a spare tire? I understand this has been a trend over the last decade for all types of vehicles. Also, some noticeable changes in audio levels and quality throughout the video. I noticed some scenes using Rode Wireless Go mics and others do not, which may account for some of this (but even during the driving segment the audio quality varied)
@@davidconner9027 No worries; I just wanted to be sure you were aware of this area for improvement. The video effectively communicated your insights, which is the mean thing.

I'm sure you already know that you have an actual sunglass holder compartment in front of the sos and connected services button.
Great review Kathy, much better than the pro’s.
Nice work!
Very articulate 👍
Genesis GV60 beat Tesla Model Y Performance, BMW iX xDrive 50, and Ford Mustang Mach-E GT P.E. in a quarter-mile race.
Genesis GV60 = 12.30 seconds
Tesla Model Y = 12.33 seconds
BMW iX xDrive = 12.4 seconds
Mustang Mach-E GT P.E. = 12.6 seconds
The crystal sphere made GV60 seem more futuristic.
You can get enough charge on a 110v (120v?) at home charger overnight to make that commute daily?
120 is the correct notation. And yes, our Tesla is only charged via 120v at home.
@@laloajuria4678 Is that enough to make a 20 minute commute each way each day? That's what she says she's doing in the video.
@@kevinmathews3818 oh yea. That's nothing.
use auto regen with the level you need. You will conclude to auto after long time usage so choose it at first is wise.
Excellent video as always. Question : Can we start an EV like Genesis GV60 if the car is plugged to the wall charger ?
That's a first...Toast... on a EV review.
Kathy needs her own channel. She is a RUclips rock star. And if Genesis used her review, a few million women would buy the "Comfort:" Genesis GV60.
This GV60 review was way better than that other 'Out of Spec' Guy... err Whatsis name ?
Curious of the cost for fixing the crystal ball when it malfunctions. lol
Wow, this car is what I want... Definitely I am not a Tesla person...
❤❤ my GV60
So, there is another GV60 in town! Mine is lime green. I live in Fiddler's Creek. I also live in NY.
BTW How did you get the car to Marco? My husband brought it on the Autotrain.
@@dorotheafarmer1628
So, where do you charge up?
@@dorotheafarmer1628
I love to drive up to the Adirondacks in the fall. I didn’t go this year due to total lack of charging station stations once I left the Syracuse area. Sure, I could get there. But, couldn’t get back! Don’t have my own charger up there. Once again, very limiting. Still, love the car!
Just wondering if GV60 has the over-the-air update capability
Yup
Felicidades por el coche, compre el EV6 porque aquí en España no se vende todavía pero sin duda es mucho más bonito y lujoso que el mío
Envidia sana 😊
Marco island celebrities now! Great video!
Thanks Jack!
Great video. In future vids I would suggest blocking out your license plate # when editing. That can be traced to your address and possibly compromise your privacy. These are weird times....
Kathy is so cute I loved her detailed review ❤😂
I thoughtt she looked best when sitting in the Tesla Model Y. Looking forward to Dave's new Model S video.
Great update. I'm hoping to get one when their available in my state. Was that the crickets making your audio so tizzy at the park?
I think something was wrong with my Rode mics. There were also crickets there too
This car actually lets you adjust the stiffness of the shock absorbers, maybe your son needs to try it again while putting them in sport mode.
Hahahaha this is the DOPEST theme song hahahah.
It is about time Porsche Macan which was traded in for this Genesis to get its own EV version.
No charge route planning on Waze. HUD only gets updated when using OEM NAV
@@davidconner9027 Gotcha, thanks for the response!
Great review!
Thanks for the feedback on audio Rob. Still learning
@@davidconner9027 No worries; I just wanted to be sure you were aware of this area for improvement. The video effectively communicated your insights, which is the mean thing.
No feet kicking for any of the Hyundai products
Is the total range ideal for everyday? Or does it need to be charged often
Well looks like for her perspective that Genesis design team did well being that they designed it with women in-mind! :D
HI SUPERDAVE!! SHE GOES TO FLORIDA FOR THE SUMMER?? CONNECTICUT AIN'T HOT ENOUGH FOR HER?? AND SHE LEAVES YOU HOME?? "MODERN" MARRIAGE?? LUCKY YOU!! A VERY, VERY NICE CAR!! MY NIT PICKS ARE SMALL : 1) THE DOOR HANDLES POP OUT IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, OPPOSITE OF THE WAY THE MODEL 3 AND MODEL Y'S DOOR HANDLES WORK, WHICH I THINK ARE BETTER?? ). 2) THE CHARGER PORT IS ON THE WRONG SIDE. 3) THE REAR WINDOW NEEDS A WIPER/WASHER 4) I CALL THE FRUNK "THE BRIEFCASE" BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME, AND THATS ALL IT WILL HOLD!! 5) I STILL THINK THE CRYSTAL "DOME" SHOULD HAVE SNOW FALLING INSIDE IT WHEN YOU FLIP IT OVER!! 6) I WILL ALWAYS MISS NOT HAVING A SPARE TIRE!! I'M GLAD SHE LIKES IT SO MUCH ( happy wife, happy life?? ) THANKS DAVE!! CHAS ORVIS, PLAINVILLE, CT.
Comments about the Fed EV rebate that is basically gone?
The game has completely changed. O well
No self driving no wireless CarPlay, Way behind in technology.
What is that horrific sound? Bugs? Where are you? Can you filter them out?
Part bugs, part me not knowing how to use my new wireless mic. I will get there!
Rich people but no more EV.. hybrid the way to go..
Lol. You'll be trading it soon.
We'll see. Kathy surely seems to love it so far.
I can't give this one a thumbs up. The toaster stuff went on far too long; supposed to be a car review. And waaaaaaay too many ads.
Thanks for your feedback
@@outofspecdave1554 But I did just take delivery of a GV60 partially based on reviews like yours from people who love them. My wife is like your wife....LOVES IT!
Ya no range anxiety because she only drives 20 mins. Sure, get a bike. But for those that need their car for a normal commute, stick to your Escalade.
