    Hello, it would be grateful if you could answer my question. In grade 11 I didn't do very well with a average of 68% but my grade 12 average is pretty high with a 90%. And my extra curriculars are good. Will my grade 11 grade, stop me from entering UBC ?

    • @EngineeringStories
      @EngineeringStories  3 года назад

      Hi Krishna, both your grade 11 and grade 12 results will be considered, you can find the details of what UBC looks for here: you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc/applied/application-evaluation/
      If there are any reasons your grade 11 year had a lower average, mentioning it in your application will help admissions get a better understanding of your academic background. Grade 11 will be considered, but it won't necessarily determine whether you are admissible to UBC Engineering.

    My school offers dual-credit courses and if I take the courses will they increase the chance the same way as AP?

    • @EngineeringStories
      @EngineeringStories  4 года назад

      Hi Luksorn, dual-credit courses are considered and will apply to the rigour of the courses you take (when we look at breadth, rigour and relevancy). However, dual-credit courses will need to be individually assessed if you are hoping to gain transfer credit for year 1 in the same way that AP and IB courses will grant you. Hopefully that helps, but if you have more questions about admissions to UBC Engineering, please let us know!

    Hi I’m from the U.S. but I am a Canadian citizen, I submitted my personal profile to be eligible for the Presidential Scholars Award which is due dec 1. It says I can upload an interim transcript and act score should I do that before dec 1? Or before the deadline March 15?

      Hi Angelo, You should receive an email from UBC with all of the deadlines for submitting any documents you need to. You can also find all dates and deadlines her: you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc/dates-deadlines/
      The only requirement right now is to have applied by December 1 and submit your documents by March 15 (for out-of-country documents), unless otherwise indicated in the email you receive from UBC!

We'll also use your personal profile as part of the evaluation to learn about what you have done outside of the classroom. :)

    Heyyyy~ I’ve got an average of 97.8 in my gr 11 courses but I just saw that 12.1 is the due date for first round considerations 2 days ago. I spent 1 day doing all the personal statement questions. Should I try the first round? Because I think I have a pretty competitive gr 11 average, while my personal statement may not be that good now😓

While you may not have been involved in volunteer activities or sports, maybe you took care of siblings at home, worked, or did other things outside of the classroom that impacted you and you can speak about.
