Swanage Railway Winter Warmup Gala

This weekend marks the Swanage Railways Winter Warmup Gala, featuring four locomotives
Steam;
. SR West Country No. 34028 'Eddystone'
. LSWR T3 No. 563
Diesel;
. BR Class 33 No. D6515 ' LT Jenny Lewis RN'
. BR Class 33 No. 33 111
My main reason for attending this gala was to finally see the T3 in action for the very first time, we had seen it last year, however only parked up in Swanage sidings, so was nice to see and hear it working. It's a lovely locomotive, a credit to the Flour Mill! Besides, it was also the first Gala we'd been to at Swanage for a while. Another lineside filming job, mostly stayed around the Norden area.

There should have been four steamies running. Diesels don't heat the carriages as well as steam engines do. Why didn't you have a ride? You could have missed out the two diesels somewhat.

Unlike you, I like the diesels, so they are as much a part of this video as the steam engines, Diesel can heat carriages as well as steam engines, I know this from personal experience

Many enthusiasts like the diesel locos !!! It was an excellent little event by SR, and pleased they used both diesel and steam locos 😊
