Hi guys, I've got the 8.3 5g and according to Qualcomms website the phone has the aptx adaptive bluetooth codec. However when i go into the developer settings i can only access aptx all others are greyed out, the earbuds i use are the B&O Beoplay EQ which are aptx adaptive compatible. Has anyone else come across this problem?

The Indian market for them is tough to crack. People tend to chose what they perceive offers the best value for money so the Chinese OEMs are killing it there. I hope they will go back there with a stronger marketing push that also raises awareness about their differentiating factors.

Honestly, as Abdullah suggested, Indian market is flooded with Chinese brands but Nokia needs to market it in a different way there. First they need a brand ambassador pull and secondly they need to focus on build quality, privacy policies, competitive price tag and above everything else ease of purchase and availability. Mind you of all Chinese brands, it's very hard to find their basic phone variant. They only focus on availability of their elite phone variant.

    I absolutely love it!!.
The design build quality camera are the highlights.
I dont get 5g where I live so I have only used it on 5g a couple of times when I have been somewhere with 5g signal and it ran much quicker!,so I am looking forward to more constant use when 5g becomes more available in the northwest of England!.
I have owned a lot of Nokia phones over the years,in fact every phone except for one Microsoft phone has been Nokia since mobiles became available.

To me Nokia 8.3 is the best phone that released by HMD since 2017. İt is still the best of Nokia altough it has been 2 years it relased. But unfortunetly after Nokia X71 and Nokia 8 Sİrocco this is the most underrated model. İt definetly deserve more than this. Lastly I should say that it is not only related to pandemic at the same time this is ineptitute of HMD heads and its marketing team. I always say that Nokia Mobile must be live under a bigger capital with a skilled team.. not with HMD

Thanks for giving the Nokia 8.3 5G another look even all these months later! It is probably one of the most underrated devices of the past few years. It is not perfect but it is solid all around. Besides even now, in terms of specs and even hardware it still holds out quite well against many newer models. Over the last few years any advances in features, specs, hardware and software have been minimal. While I like all the Nokia devices, the XR-20 is probably the only other device I'd have chosen as an upgrade. And I'm coming from the Nokia 7.1 which is probably my favourite smartphone of the past decade...it was almost perfection...LOL. But the 8.3 5G is just as elegant! What Nokia Mobile could do to rectify the mistakes they've made with this device, they could add Android 13 as an update. The device has more than enough capacity to handle a third OS update beyond Android 12. 👍👍

@@AbdullaZaki I've had it for about six months now, bought it for a good deal, and it has been a great experience so far. I've seen that a lot of people complain about the size of Nokia phones getting bigger. Honestly after having had the Nokia 8.3 and using the large 6.81 inches screen (only the G50 is slightly larger), I don't think I could go back to anything smaller than a device with a 6.4 or 6.5 inch screen. Plus I like the weight and heft and how it feels in the hand. By comparison I was looking at the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro and their insanely expensive prices...and honestly with the exception of a few bells and whistles here and there when it comes to the specs or the software (because it runs Android 12) most of which are just gimmicks...it it isn't that much better than the 8.3 in quite a lot of ways. Nevermind that the Pixel 6 has had issues with the in-display fingerprint scanner, it has no face unlock, no phone jack, no Micro SD slot or Dual SIM option and the much praised cameras don't seem that much more advanced than what I already have on my phone now. Same for the iPhone 13. Of course those are new devices and have a clear competitive edge. Just on brand recognition alone. If, as I've said before, HMD Global decides to add Android 13 to the Nokia 8.3 5G (I understand they have no incentive to do so), it will make it even more attractive, even all this time after its announcement and actual release.

Hello. I bought the Nokia 8.3 about a year ago and I love the Nokia design build. I always have. The weight and the look of the phone is magnificent. The only thing I don't like about the backing is how easy it slips through my fingers. For me its impossible to grip so I have the plastic cover they provide in the box. I wonder if Nokia could reuse the fantastic Nokia smart cam app that had been realesed in Nokia Lumia 925 . It had all the features back in 2013 that Google admires her self and her tensor after 8 years in 2021 like magic eraser, action shot, the extremely horrible motion blur and amazing night mode . Nokia was a head of time and now, all it needs is to get back some old Lumia features but with modern requirements .

I have been using Nokia 8.3 5g for about a year now and so far have no complaints. It is one hell of a device for daily use. The only reason it has suffered is due to its sloppy marketing. The device is officially not available in many markets like Canada. You can only get for third party sellers that too at a higher cost. Only if it was marketed to its potential, it has the potential to be right up there. This device always manages to grab people's attention with its unique design.

In my opinion, processor is not the only basis for a phone. It could be a starting point since we look into how powerful a device is, but we also have to consider other features like the build and etc.
When I got the Nokia 6.1 last 2018, it was really expensive. Then compared to other phones on the same processor, I realized it's the aluminum body that made it expensive. I really loved the design.
Same goes for the Nokia 7 Plus when it first got released. It was too expensive. I got it on a bargain at around half price a year after release, and it's also the same with the build and etc, which makes it more expensive.
Phone expensive? Yes. But I can use it until now, unlike other cheaper phones that don't last long. The only problem I encountered with my phone lately is the battery, which I had replaced at an official service center. Looking forward to more years with my Nokia 7 Plus! It's going to be three years this coming March.

Only problem i keep having is with Snapchat bugging from time to time and it disabling the camera for a bit.(normally needed to restart the phone, but now only the app) also on the lock screen i cant use the flash light due to snapchat notifications or something.

Nokia devices, atleast the 6, 7, and 8 series ones have had amazing build quality.
The 6.1+ I had before felt way nicer than the Pixel 4a I use now, that was until I pressed the power button.
The software was riddled with bugs, Needing to restart the phone after every 5 pictures to use the camera, weird scaling bugs and general instability.
Also the fact that HMD didn't put any effort into making the software feel anything more than barebones android.
Motorola is a good example of other OEMs can implement stuff google does with Pixels.
It is sad to see the current state of HMD Nokia, they really need to get their act together.

I was eyeing that phone when it launched, but it wasn't available in my country. But, there was a company that'll bring it down, and when I saw the price, declined. The OnePlus Nord was a tough competitor, and also the Google Pixel 4A 5G, since they all ran the very same chipset.
I do hope Nokia releases something just as good as the Nokia 8.3 5G, but og course, with some enhanced features. Even a refresh of this phone will be nice, not forgetting a lower price!

    • @AbdullaZaki
      @AbdullaZaki  2 года назад

It was expensive, but just in terms of 5G bands (not relevant to many countries yet) and build quality, this was leagues ahead of the Pixel 4A 5G and Nord. But these are aspects that deserve a lot more attention from a marketing point of view.

I think that HMD got lost amidst the problems faced, pandemic, shortage of chips, problems in production and delays, were many problems for a small company still in formation to solve.
As they were spending more than they were profiting, they had to reduce costs and focus on few markets, thereby failing to gain market share in other countries.
Perhaps if they focused on just three models: entry-level, premium-intermediate and a premium-top, it would have been more advantageous.
But I hope that somehow HMD makes a comeback despite the circumstances in the market today, because if it continues with bad decisions we will see another end of a dream of Nokia to stay in the market.
I love my Nokia 8.3 and X20 , I'm a fan of the brand and I won't trade it for another.

@@AbdullaZaki I agree that we don't need the extremely fast one like VOOC but an optimal one. They could use 10W charging on SD 480 like how they did on 7.2/6.2/5.3/5.4 but seeing 7.1 and 7.2 shares the same SoC, it's purely cost cutting measure. I mean the chargers that they're bundling us came from Lumia, digging from its model number while richgo already made chargers beyond that for them but still adhere PD and QC standard
Current hmd ODM made devices that can negiotiate voltage better from what I'm seeing in 5.4 charging behavior, so that already covers charging algorithm and way better than Foxconn which my Nokia 5 always overheat when charging with connectivity turned on. Not that we'd use 21-30W constantly, but just as peak when the capacity is low and tolerable enough not to degrade faster.
