Thank you, this is very intersting! I think that very much people believe that Steinway woul be the best piano followed by Bösendorfer, Schimmel,...... But now I mean that thisone sounds really better, I heard it also in some Videos where pianists are playing the Fazioli.
Being and guitar and mandolin player, I dont claim to have an ear for good pianos but this really sounds like something outstanding to me. I can really hear the difference from this and the other pianos you demo.
James, That may be one of the best pianos I've ever heard. I won't compare it to your Steinway because ..well just because. I suppose it's over 250K, really for masters. Cheers, Rik Spector
@TownesVanZandt Sounds pretty much "right on the money" (pun intended). One of James' other videos prompted me to check the F-308 & that was about $236,000. (Surprised it was under a quarter mill) F-278 a relative "bargain" at a shade over $200 thou. I believe that puts it at less than a Steinway D for a much better sounding piano! If I was a worthy pianist & had the bucks to spend Fazioli would be my 1st choice without a doubt! Would love to see James have one for his studio someday.
I bought my fazoli 278 concert grand for $160,000 from Faust Harrison pianos trading my Steinway B for $50,000. I recently listed my fazioli klaviano for $99,000. My piano is vintage 2016. I got three hits in the first four days. I was ready to pull the string and buy a beckstein concert 8. I was thinking about the future when I was going to downsize. After playing my fazioli straight for several days many hours I realized I must be out of my mind. Although I heard the beckstein concert 8 is one of the best uprights in the world that cannot compare to the action of a fazioli. Thank God I decided not to sell it and I also was probably selling it for $20,000 less than I should be getting
A pianist had her Fazioli F278 destroyed by a moving company, reported ny NBC News (hopefully this link works - www.nbcnews.com/news/world/virtuoso-s-rare-expensive-piano-unsalvageable-after-dropped-movers- ). Never knew this piano existed until James' reviews. Probably my favorite piano at this time; having grown up with the idea that Steinway was the pinnacle piano (50s and 60s).
Thanks for the demonstration! This piano doesn’t seem to have any flaws at all does it? I own a Steinway be but I would consider trading it in for one of these. :-)
@@mlr3188 speaking from experience and owning a fazioli 278 I would tell you this. My prior piano was a Steinway B which I really loved but I had to work the action and it needed a lot of technical work before I got it where I wanted. After playing a fazoli 278 I fell in love with it The action the pieces that I could play on the fazio Lee 278 I could never play on the Steinway. The touch is so magnificent I could play flawlessly Chopin's revolutionary etude easily with that left hand. On the Steinway it would give me cramps and I would not be able to complete the speed on that action. I tried several Steinway D's at the Steinway store in Philadelphia. Not one of them would compare to the fazioli the fazioli was almost perfect right out of the box. Weather Steinway sounded not too shabby it just does not compare
Both are amazing pianos! The bass end on all Faziolis is amazing, but even more so on the F308 because of its size. It has a bit more projection power than the 278, too.
This piano touches the soul effortlessly Thank you for sharing
Absolutely gorgeous and luscious sounding piano! If it weren't so expensive, the Fazioli would probably take over the world.
Probably my most favorite so far! Couldn't help but smile while listening. Thank you!
Count on the Italians to make a piano as gorgeously beautiful to the eye as to the ear.
Couldn't work this week. At home feeling sick. However, this video made my day.
the best piano i ever heard. In the high keys you mostly only hear the attack, here you hear the tone too. great!
der0hund yes, I love Fazioli too!
Gorgeous. This is pretty much how a piano needs to sounds like and I can totally understand that you enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.
Totally agree - awesome piano! I want one.
Enjoyed your 'test piece'! Sound comes through very clearly.
What a wonderful piano!
This is not what I was told about Fazioli. It’s sound have it’s own dimensional effect. It’s simply astonishing
Tried a Fazioli 278 in Seattle, and it was a absolute pleasure to play on it. They are great pianos indeed.
I can hear the beauty. Wow what a sound,
A much different attack than any other piano I've heard. Very percussive and complex
LOVE!!!! that low end growl!

That's the magic of a great instrument. Nearly anyone who listens to it can hear how excellent it is.
Even I, a music "listener", not a player, can tell that THIS is a great piano !
Brilliant piano.
I love that dealer! so many awesome piano brands there!
Excellent!
James,

Piano perfection! What else can I say???!!!
Wonderful....
Noice. I could listen to you "test piece" all day. Beautiful piano.
A piano like this ,a special modified version, was dropped by movers in Germany IIRC.
yes, it was Angela Hewitt's. it had a fourth pedal.
Wot! No Pirates?? 😂
Me thinks you rather like that Fazioli!
If I ever won the lottery, I'd be hard pushed to choose between that and a Bösendorfer.
If you win get both ;)
Eye candy? Yes indeed! Ear candy, too :-)
The bar line is raised because of this piano.
Sweet!
Best piano ever? What do you think? And how light are the keys?
James, I think you may end up with a Fazioli!
I would gladly trade my Steinway in for a Fazioli any day!
What is the Bach piece you played? Always curious about this piece as you played it in pretty much all the videos and I love it ;)
Good review. Fazioli makes excellent instruments. It's too bad they have such limited production. Mr. Fazioli is a cool person.
Not only are Fazioli pianos some of the best ever, but they also have some of the best owners!
Yes it’s incredible how they grew so fast. Pianos are stunning

Amazing! What kind of piece do you play at the beginning of the video?

A Fazioli is a major upgrade over any Steinway, even a good one.
@@ThePianoforever even a steinway d?

Magnificent sound, but you would have to be careful with the bass (a lighter touch than on other grands?) to not over power the higher notes.
“Literal eye candy”
Could you tell me the piano music's name of the beginning of this video? Thanks!
Your first piece was moving.
Do you like this one better than the F308?

do you have an email for normal things ( not so business stuff )
Fazioli's baby grand is $120,000. I'm so sad that I'll never be able to buy one.
