Loved the video, would to see a series of you exploring cities, countries etc. You can ride a bike/scooter or not, you are providing the entertainment!
Lighter e-bikes with lower rolling resistances like the bike in your video would make good touring platforms IF there were a convenient way of adding multiple batteries in a touring bag in the back with convenient wiring harnesses. Manufacturers need to start adding ways of conveniently daisy chaining of batteries so that using and recharging multiple batteries is simple. Flat ground ranges need to be upward of 200 miles to begin with to be ok for touring due to the excessive battery drain on uphill days.

Great city Düsseldorf! There’s a lovely Altstadt with lovely little restaurants… @eilis, you know this idea of @electroheads on tour is absolutely amazing… we get to see Switzerland in a car, a German city on a cool bike, a French coast in an Ami … Bristol as a deliveroo 😂 On the bike, I like it but while I understand the idea of the dot matrix screen (should work better than a LCD in sunlight) at that price I want a better gear system than an old Shimano derailleur.
Good effort, the bike display is underwhelming, needs colour. The alarm is a good idea, perhaps a strobe light effect to narrow down the direction of theft would help!
Pro tip (I only recently discovered.) Brake with just your index finger, you’ll get better modulation. It’s not that important in the city, but as soon as you go off road it becomes an essential skill.
This sounds like a classic Top Gear intro: On today’s show Eilis runs over her phone, Richard tries to speak German and James gets really sweaty in a halter top.
The fingerprint unlock is kinda nice. Not super thrilled about the chain on the pro version. And, while the frame looks cool, there will surely be some tradeoffs in the forms of no place to attach a cafe lock, limited braze-ons for bottles, nothing to keep long clothing from brushing into the rear tire. I can't tell from the imagery but I wonder if this frame can take a trailer hitch. I see, though, that they fixed the seat post problem from the base version, though the range will still be limited. It also looks like it'd be impossible to swap out handlebars or light. But the price point is pretty good for a bike with GPS tracking and its other security features. I am also generally of the view that any bike aimed at commuters needs a belt or else a chain guard. But I'm weird like that. As always, Eilis is a delight.
Cracking video, Eilis, not just a review, but a modelling assignment, you look brilliant paired with that fab looking bike. Enjoyed the crazy angle shots of you being hot, you look like you were poured into that outfit. Anything missing? Well, for £3K no bell?!! Bluetooth speaker- hmm, ruin everyone else's day with my choice of music at 100 dB- absolutely. The dot matrix was a printer format in the 80s and it was rubbish then, not sure that time has improved it. How about a nice firm waterproof phone mount instead??! Great review, looking forward to the next.
I don’t know if they are available in the UK, but have you tried the Ride 1 Up models… The LMT’D V2 is 👍, their other models are intriguing as well. I bought the LMT’D V2 based on my past cycling activities…
Hey Eilis....I have an ideea...every town has an rush hour...so select poin some common A&B points at the most rushed hour and select 3 members.1th on a car..2nd on legal ebike on the road.3th on legal ebike or analog using all shortcuts posible....and...I would add 4th member on a slighty illegal ebike with at least 20miles/h speed to see what is the danger or benefit increasing the speed limit.....and let's find out who comes faster and what are the differences
0.30 into the video: Thank you for showing electric bikes are safe to ride in a thunderstorm. ... maybe? lol Health tip, always hydrate before you lose the capability to screw on a cap. lol Mark of a great camerawoman. lol Still think you dodging lighting strikes would have made a great video.
How did it fair in wet weather? Would the fingerprint sensor still work. Also methinks that BT speaker ain't gonna fair so well with uk weather. And also don't like the display, can you turn the sound off?
That was going to be my question too... I was thinking weird that we haven't seen fingerprint sensors on many other bikes but I'm pretty sure they won't work so well if it's wet
Yeah, I don’t think so. I went Tenways because their design philosophy is slim down, simplicity, functionality. Too many gadgets that I imagine are very convincing on the shop floor but completely unnecessary some where in the second week of riding. Bluetooth speakers! Let’s hope no one else thinks that is a thing for e-bikes.
Eilis, the curry might have contributed somewhat🔥🌶️🤔😂 Back to the bike, expensive, features are cool, but the backend of the frame, it's not moving me. MHO. Presentation👍
You are so charming, and informative and eloquent,, and enthusiastic, you just make me want to run to my Gazelle and hop on. Please review Gazelle bikes and women's saddles
You could do a new series reviewing European bike friendly towns and cities. Instant coffee is less likely to upset your stomach. There are good freeze-dried coffee brands. Humans after three million years of drinking water only, but gym bros think they need supplements. They are a scam. But sure, people are brainwashed in all sorts of ways.
Ridiculously over priced when compared to all the offers the big boys now have on their ebikes for the same price. But they will have a proper mid hub motor and far better components throughout.
Does Germany not require bicycle helmets? Not sure I'd want to have a serious crash without wearing one. Suspect they can mod it to get it a higher speed although I still prefer old school non-battery bikes to be fair less weight to haul around as well.

You should look into neck fans. I found they work great for when you're off your bike. While on your bike, I usually find the wind to be enough.

Where’s your helmet Eilis?
For a £3k e-bike would expect a mid-drive motor and carbon belt drive with IGH tbh. Light bike being carbon though.

8:25 If you play Kraftwerk Numbers through the built in speaker maybe you can live with the DOT-matrix display😅
why didn't they go with a lcd or oled display, I would expect it at that price point. Dots in the dot matrix display fails progressively over time
