By the great Neal Hefti...used to love playing this in high school stage band back in 70-71. Great swing built into this tune. Then of course there's the awesome Mr. Tal- with those long fingers and his beautiful signature model Gibson.
The date and location aren't given, but ZDF is a German channel, so it appears to have been somewhere in Germany. Chuck Redd is pretty young in it, and he was drumming with the Great Guitars in the 80's so somewhere in there, I'd guess.
I had the great pleasure of falling asleep during this fellow's concert. I was sitting not ten feet from him in the front row. People were stretched out all over the place. It was the most down key concert I have ever attended.

Jazz guitar genius and a wonderful human being. Tal lives!
Tal Farlow...thanks to you Geepereet and RUclips, I am able to see one of my guitar heroes. Thanks so much for posting this video.
RC
fabulous footage of Tal!
Grande TAL FARLOW , che swing. Fantastica la pennata all'insu nell'attacco agli accordi.

not as sloppy as your phrasing. i didnt hear sloppiness....but maybe some overplaying where it wasnt needed.
