- A pandemic-era program designed to ensure all Americans can access the internet regardless of their income level is on the verge of ending unless Congress acts. U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone was joined by Jessica Rosenworcel, the chairwoman of the Federal Communications Commission, at a press conference in Red Bank on Wednesday to urge Congress to reauthorize the program.

I’m elderly low income. If I lose this it will be a hardship.
We need the ACP program because a lot of people need this and disability children do to interact.😊
I am disabled and live 50 miles from the city. I rely on ACP so that I am able to have video appointments with my doctors, shop for groceries and pay my utilities whereas the utility companies have gone paperless. This program not only needs to be extended but needs to be a permanent assistance program. Without it I will have to end service and do not know what I will do just for simple everyday tasks.
I agree. Internet service shouldn't be considered a privilege. Its a right. Especially in this day and age, its an essential as food, driving, etc.
Let's go Congress pass this bill already
God knows the rest of the world don't pay for internet only us dam
Too bad internet provider are monopolize.
It like monopolizy gasoline
i used the discount to have a cellphone like so many others. And now as a widow living in the back woods of Florida, I have to cell service as I cannot afford it and eat too. I am not alone in the rural area and now I might be thinking of why am I a Republican?
internet certainly is becoming more and more of a necessity and if we dont have it we are hindered in at least professional life which of course is paramount to individual success. It's really a pain but not undoable to have to go to publicly accessible wifi sources to catch a free sesh at the business owners expense of course but its not so necessary in personal life because we can choose to have other hobbies which are more healthier anyways and its absolutely not a civil right to have free internet access, like come on dude... ACP is helping alotta ppl rn and the demand for it is only gonna go up but that precedent is a total fabrication.
Well i have the acp program got an email from my good guys at Comcast we got your back the email said the ACP program may end but dont worry we are here to help yes so i called and talk to a rep said i will lower my internet and take the 9..95 plan the rep said ok i said before we do what will my bill be i do have TV with them he said no problem sir let me get the number he comes back and said with the cheaper internet and my TV it will cost me 28.00 more yes more per month so i got a Hammer and hit my head about 50 times and said What he said yes you drop your internet speed and pay more than i pay i had this feeling that old Comcast was going to give you the high hard one and yes i was right What A Deal we got for you lol !!!
