    I think you'll find the acting improves dramatically with the sub version. That said, one fun thing to do after you finish the show is watch videos that compare the lines in sub and dub side by side, that really drives home the difference. You'll find that even though the English dub isn't bad, it is completely eclipsed by the acting and emotion poured into the original voice work. Also, sometimes lines are spoken in a way to match the animated mouth movements, resulting in lines being changed. That prevents some dialogue from working as a callback to earlier dialogue. In other words, the writing itself suffers in English, not just the acting.

    Thank you for reacting to this OVA, to see our robin hood, Levi, helping the poor even though he is also poor, he is always amazing even since his underground time, helping everyone and that what makes us love Levi, and if you prefer to watch in dub, it is okay, dub and sub are both fine bc I have watched both

    Yay, OVA's. Patrons may have explained already, but key to understanding what these are is remembering most anime were first manga. So there's already a full story planned out in print form. OVA happen when a short prequel or off-shoot story idea comes up and the creators just put it straight to video format usually. So its an original story not in the main storyline of the anime but usually considered cannon. I honestly just think of them like novellas since I read a lot.

    Fun Fact:
    The difference in the appearance of Levi, Farlan and Isabel is very different compared to the manga. The most notable thing is the cape they wore, among other things 🤔🤔🤔

    Guys don’t feel pressured to continue with the sub, the dub is great. I’ve always found both to be excellent but I prefer the English because it’s more visceral for me when I understand the spoken language. I was also very excited to see a reaction channel watching it dub. That being said of course it ultimately comes to down to your opinion and what would maximize your enjoyment of the show. Best of luck guys!

    Yes don’t feel pressured to continue the series in dub! I’ve always been a sub over dub guy but if it takes away from reactions because you get distracted I’d rather you guys continue with what you’re comfortable with. It’s really not that serious just people refusing to accept the fact others have different preferences 😂

    I don’t care if this is an unpopular opinion but given the comments iv seen all first season I feel like i need to say this. As someone who has watched both SUB & DUB…the DUB version is completely fine to watch. It’s actually really good and the voice actors do a great job to portray the emotions same as SUB version. Yes I get it, you can have a preference but stop getting rude and annoyed when youtubers that want to do the DUB version. I bet half these people have not even watched the show in DUB, so how can you even judge? Some ppl prefer DUB as it allows them to focus more on whats happening on screen and thats fine. STOP BEING ENTITLED.

    Guys, love your reactions but please make the video translucent so watchers on RUclips can see what scene you are reacting to. With the dub it wasn't a problem as we heard everything in English and understood what was going on even when the anime was off-screen. But with sub, we need to see the subs as well at least. You can let the anime play fade in a small square, as most reactors do.

    If you guys WANT to watch it in sub, thats cool. But don't switch just because you were getting harassed in the comments. I watch some anime in sub and some in dub, and I've found that switching partway sometimes kills your investment and immersion. People typically prefer what they start with.
    As you can see in the comments, there is no pleasing everybody. No matter which you choose, some people will be upset. So the only thing you can do ignore that, and watch it in the way that YOU prefer.

    • @Celestiiiial
      @Celestiiiial Месяц назад +2

      I agree wholeheartedly if anything I think maybe they could’ve tried sub earlier on and then decided what they prefer.I think it’s stupid that people were harassing them about watching dub that they feel like they need to, I personally really prefer sub but I’d hate to ruin their immersion in the show since they’re really good reactors regardless of the language they chose. I hope if they continue sub they can adapt easily bc seriously they just started reacting to anime and they’re already better than 90% of other filler reactors.

    You know its sad, one of the few reasons i watched y'all was that you were one of the few that did dub, which is how I watched AOT. Im not gonna fight anyone anymore about sub and dub, but its just disappointing for y'all to switch midway finally thinking someone will experience it the same way I did.

      @janithsamarasinghe341 Месяц назад +2

      @@justme6217 That's just simply not true. Some people just prefer dub and some people prefer sub. I've seen the series 4 times. 2 times sub, and 2 times dub. I enjoyed the dub way more. I have no issues focusing on subtitles and the screen at the same time. No matter how good the Japanese voice acting may be, I genuinely felt that the emotions hit me wayyyy harder when it was in my own language. To each their own tho.

    • @justme6217
      @justme6217 Месяц назад +2

      @@janithsamarasinghe341 thats fair, but do you prefer all the animes in dub or was it just for attack on titan, cause to me Japanese voice acting always sounds better

    • @janithsamarasinghe341
      @janithsamarasinghe341 Месяц назад +1

      @@justme6217 As long as the English voice acting is good, I prefer dub. Like Attack on Titan or Death Note. But for example I can't watch demon slayer in dub because the voice acting is cringe. As a non-Japanese speaker, I find that 8/10 english voice acting is more impactful than 10/10 Japanese voice acting. But for AOT it's basically 10/10 in both languages, so I find that the English version hits a lot harder, imo.
      But as far as reactions, the biggest thing I've noticed is that people who switch halfway through are often times less invested/immersed in the story after they switch. They make fake it, to act like they're enjoying it just as much, but you can tell they struggle a little. I've even seen a few reactors enjoy the show at first, then switch, then they eventually drop the series. If you watch more than like 5 episodes in one format, you get used to it.

      @@justme6217 f*** off I have seen it all in sub as well, I just said I won't argue this I just personally prefer the dub, there is literally nothing I missed out on, you guys make up stupid reasons about sub being better the difference is just variation of voice acting, the dub doesn't take away from the AOT experience, which is why I even gave myself the time to watch in sub because I enjoyed that much in dub. The inflections and tones in English are what I relate to and a lot is done well in the dub but you never want to acknowledge that. Just say you prefer sub and f*** off why can't I enjoy it in dub, they worked hard on the dub to match the animation and timing and translation but you'll never see that because you blinded by your sub agenda, if there's not a direct translation because the dub team has to change some dialogue to match the animation mouth movement and scene timing you guys will say it's a "mistranslation " and they lose the message or intention which is not true. They stick holistically to Isayama's work and the voice actors did well, unlike you I will not deny the work the Sub has done because it is also well done, but I prefer the sub. You've already won they will watch in sub so why you want to sh*t on my experience. Wholistically f**k off because your opinion is about as useful as a teapot made of chocolate because y'all are just a bunch of crybabies and I've seen every bit of this sub and dub debate, no has ever regretted watching dub anyway at least in AOT

      Almost every reaction channel I've seen that starts with dub gets harassed until they switch to sub. It's sad, I thought this was gonna be different since they already did a whole season in dub. It's dumb especially since I feel like a lot of the people that were watching them consistently preferred the dub. It's just that the sub people were being really annoying and mean in the comments. Hopefully they switch back, but its doubtful.

    I am so tired of the sub/dub conversation. Especially since y'all decided to do a poll, announced it weeks ago, and said you would follow the results. Which came up sub, surprising nobody.
    But I will add my thoughts on it technically. What a lot of people on either side don't take into account is that reading subtitles is a skill that takes practice. One that is based off of each person's regular reading and comprehension skills. Then throw watching a video on top. I read a lot, always have. So my ability to watch subtitled things was a fairly easy transition. The more you read, often the faster ypu read. So for me subtitles is fine because I read faster than they talk. Also, after all these years of watching east asian and latin american content, I now also know the different timing schemes used for various countries subtitles in those areas. This is after decades. And I still miss things. When I watch from other countries like Nigeria or France, I miss more.
    For people that don't read as often subtitles is a lot harder to get used to. But the only way to do it, is to do it. But I don't shit on those who have a harder time, miss things or decide its not a hill they want to climb. It's entertainment.

    • @leonardoroar
      @leonardoroar 10 дней назад

      it gets easier over time so its a skill and ability that they will acquire, which benefits them in long run to watch any foreign media with no dubs available.
      I had to read subtitles from young because our national TV programs have foreign language shows with subtitles. Watching anime in modern era with subtitles becomes 2nd nature.
      Way back then, there is no internet, and there are no dubs, only those famous shows / cartoons have dubs. So we usually get original foreign language with subtitles, and hence any dub in the early internet era sounds weird because in my mind, i know it is not original.
