I think it was Babysoul and Kei, who were prominent before they or during their debut because Babysoul was a solo already before debuting in Lovelyz, and Kei's vocals were one of the best.
mijoo and friends... 😭 i get that a lot of international fans probably think like that, but lovelyz became a beloved group in korea well before mijoo started blowing up recently. kei had always been the face of the group.
Exactly what i was thinking. Lovelyz is not unknown in Korea. Kei had so many singing shows and lovelyz themselves said that Yein is the popular one among them before. They are not underrated in Korea.

ngl a lot of his videos feel a bit rushed / not fully researched… like i appreciate the sentiment of wanting to say they deserved more appreciation but “mijoo and friends” is so incorrect lol it’s such a sheltered international fan point of view of lovelyz. i wish he would take time to actually maybe talk to some lovelinus and learn the story of the group, instead of just looking at who’s trending on stan twitter. but alas, if it gets lovelyz even a few more listeners i can’t complain too much 🥲

As a Lovelinus since their debut, I am really sad that they disbanded. They will always be my no. 1 group and will always inspire me. Although, I never heard of anyone saying 'Mijoo and friends' when talking about Lovelyz. Mijoo is indeed the most popular member, but Lovelyz was really well-known in korea as a whole.

I'm sorry 'mijoo and friends' is something I refuse to agree with. Mijoo blew up this year, lovelyz has been around for 7. In my opinion, Lovelyz was one of the most well-rounded groups I've seen. While promoting, no one outshined the other. They balanced each other so well. But I suppose all the great things always come to an end.

Lovelyz didn't get their first win only last year... They got it in 2017 with Now, We. Along with their win for Obliviate, they also have wins for Twinkle and That Day. The song that came out after Destiny was Wow, too-not "Now". It's called Now, We. 😕
Edit: You do say that it was their first win later on, but you also call Obliviate their first win at the beginning. I'm not trying to be mean, but there are many bits of misinformation throughout this video... I feel like you should've researched Lovelyz more thoroughly before putting this out.

@Eririn He does this a lot and doesn't really care. This is the same guy that was too lazy to do basic research to find that Hyuna's debut single was Change, not Bubble Pop.
Also, he puts his opinion as a fact because at no time in their career has the group been called __(insert member)__& friends. Him calling them Mijoo and friends doesn't even make sense because they stopped promoting as a group way before her popularity skyrocketed. If anything, that title would've been used for Kei, but it wasn't.
Its never been "member..and friends". They've all individually been popular throughout different times of their 7 year career. During promotions no member outshined the other. Mijoo has been getting all this attention just recently. And whenever she goes to variety shows she always makes sure to mention Lovelyz and talk about the members whenever possible. With everything they've gone through together as a team since debut, it would take a lot to bring out jealousy or spite against each other.

I love your video. But lovelyz is not a grp just labeld as a 'mijoo and friends' in korea(i know lovelyz is underrated internationally though). GP knows lovelyz well by ah choo. It was massive hit. That 'know' means gp 'know' which concept and song they have done as a kpop group like other popular groups. It is like 'mijoo is idol? > which group? > lovelyz? Ah really? She doesnt look like a lovelyz member haha. Lovelyz is one of the most noticeable ggs in sk. Many major press reported their disbandment news too.
I am really sad that they disbanded just when I started stanning them but I do hope they get more successful in the future with their careers and I'll support them till the end

it's really sad to see such a talented group disband. Their music has been amazing since the beginning it's heartbreaking when such great groups have to disband because they don't blow up the way some other groups with generic music do.
they're one of my favorite girlgroup, they have their unique sound and i really enjoy it it's a mixture of innocence-melancholy and pure joy. it's just sooo good! My favorite title tracks are hi, lost n found, beautiful days, destiny, ah-choo and tonight like yesterday

I love them after I heard Ah-Choo... Stanning them since 2019 and they're the third girl group that i stan. Their vocal and songs really attracted me because not a lot girl group has that sound before. I'm so shocked when I heard the news but that's not unexpected since all things that has happened to them. I'll support them individually and maybe a group too! Lovelyz and Lovelinus forever!!!
Honestly, woollim never cared , they never promoted infinite nor epik high which were so popular back in the days (though infinite managed to survive thanks to their hits after hits and loyal fanbase ) .....lovelyz was doing decently good in korea but woollim failed them.....i am afraid for their current grps, they debuted 3/4 grps back to back.... damn....i would have never auditioned for such a company

I never heard lovelyz being called mijoo and friends..from first debut jiae is the most famous member, then sujeong after that kei follow up the fame and become the famous one... Then maknae yein and mijoo fight for as famous member then jisoo as her popularity blow up after her debut in web drama then mijoo hit to the top as she show up in many shows. Mijoo just got famous after 2017 to 2018 and recently. And they never being called - - - - and friends.... But thanks for all the good thinks you said about them.

If someone told you 2ne1 disbanded in 2011 and you can do a quick Google search to see that's false, then maybe they need to spend some more time reading before making a video. You probably would think it was acceptable if someone told you that antibiotics get rid of viruses (hint: they don't).
I am not a big fan even tho i saw their debut mv when it was released and actually loved it but i can tell you this group has one of the best discographies in kpop. Like im pretty sure ten years from now i will still get goosebumps listening to destiny and still get that bubbly feeling listening to Candy Jelly Love. They are those groups that you might not stan now or at least know every members' name but you will definitely remember their songs even after a while.
A lot of people seem to forget just how much fans anticipated Lovelyz debut. Pre-debut Lovelyz had both Baby Soul and JIN working as Solo artists, which peeked fans interest, not to mention Infinite's unique style and sound was something many fans wanted to see in this girl group. While not the same style as Infinite, Lovelyz never disappointed with their innocent charm and cute sound. In 2015, Lovelyz was even named the official rival of Oh My Girl, a girl group thriving to this day. At the time both groups had a similar number of members, similar concepts, and similar if not matched vocal prowess.
Obliviate wasn't the first Lovelyz's song to win at first on a music show
Lovelyz was never called mijoo and friends. Maybe do your research before saying such things. They've been around for a quite a while and mijoo only became really big recently

as an Inspirit, I’ve always loved these girls 😞 they were like Infinite in every way - immensely talented, very synchronised, a flawless & unique discography, an amazing group bond. (not to mention how pretty they all are!) Woollim just really sucks at promoting them. They went viral in Korea loads of times, but the company never really knew what to do with them. They couldn’t follow up the hype after Queendom. and in the end we didn’t even get a goodbye album or even a single. This one stings a lot because so many people missed out on such a great group 😞

Mijoo and friends? I never heard people calling that? Mijoo just blew up recently, especially since sixth sense season 2. And before this, Kei was the popular one (and still is) but no one called the group, Kei and friends? Lovelyz is also pretty well-known in Korea for having good music. Mijoo, Kei and Yein are the most popular one among the members. Even so, Jisoo is quite well-known too for her gorgeous visual and for her acting in web drama, One Fine Week S1 & S2. Next are Sujeong and Jiae in terms of the popularity ranking. Then, Soul and Myungeun are the least popular members. And I think the example for 'idol and friends' are 4Minute and Miss A. Those two groups, I think Hyuna and Suzy really outshined the others. And also, I've watched few comments from Lovelinus that said this video really missed a lot about Lovelyz. So I'm not sure if I wanna watch this or not because I really think you should've do research about Lovelyz before making this video.

Kei was the most known before mijoo, kei even became music bank MC. 98% people know mijoo is an idol, she says it everywhere, sings 'Ah-Choo' all the time on her shows. Mijoo only blew up this year, so a lot of people know her name. There was never such thing as 'Mijoo and friends'
I have been a fan (Lovelinus) of them since debut and I waited so is the rest of the fandom for their comeback but after knowing about them maybe not coming back broke my heart... Woolim didn't put in much effort in them.. the members begged for a comeback since this year is their 7th anniversary but the company didn't want to. They wanted to end nicely or maybe continue being a Lovelyz member. There were many b side tracks of them can be potentially be their title track and could hit big but woolim... I also wanted an acapella album since their singing abilities as a group is so good but didn't get any...
I understand that most of things might not last forever... I want them to at least perform for one last time on stage.. I will still continue to support them individually or as a group!! Lovelyz fighting!! :)

And kei herself has been considered “superstar level” for some years now. She’s considered the second cutest idol around. usually says she’s only second in aegyo to Sunny from SNSD. I mean I moved to the US in 2019 but when I was still living in SK kei was considered a household name. It’s going to take some years of consistency for mijoo to become more popular than kei

Its never been "Mijoo and friends" ever, never heard of that even. I guess you would say that because you just knew about lovelyz from seeing Mijoo from variety shows but each of the members are well known themselves. The group is so well-balanced that they equally shine together as a group.

Lovelyz is my ultimate group and there's just so much misinformation in this video. Obliviate was NOT their "first win since debut". I've never ever heard of them as being known as "Mijoo and friends." The name of the song isn't "Now" as you call it, it's "Now, WE". Lovelyz was actually pretty popular in Korea with a strong, dedicated fanbase. Lovelyz were popular enough to be able to have many solo concerts (solo concerts as in the entire 2~3 hour concert with just Lovelyz performing, no other groups). There aren't that many girl groups that are popular enough to have their own concerts like Lovelyz did, let alone have the concert tickets sell out like Lovelyz did. However, international fans always slept on Lovelyz for the most part. Please do more research next time (more than just rewording their wikipedia article), this video just seems lazy/made-just-to-get-views because of all the misinformation.
Lovelyz is one of my favorite groups. Such vocal power! I wish all the members luck going forward on whatever paths they choose!

Unlike most ppl, I followed Lovelyz because of Kei, her powerful voice and tiny stature is such a contrast. I wish her well and hope she gets to showcase her voice more as a soloist.
I was lucky enough to know them and love them since their debut, I'm happy and sad at the same time, they deserved so much yet accomplished so little... To me their music and charisma will always be top 1 in all of the kpop industry, thank you my ladies 💖 I will forever support you in everything you do from now on.

I always felt that kei is such an under appreciated Kpop vocalist. She (and also OMG's seunghee) really stood out to me when she on Girl Spirit in 2016 but i hardly ever see anyone talk about her when discussing girl group vocalists.

I remember hearing their debut and I’ve listened to Candy Jelly Love consistently ever since. I’m so sad to see that they disbanded and am hoping they all get to pursue their dreams, whatever they may be.
They were one of the groups that really popularized the innocent and elegant concept, and not just that but all the members are really good vocalists and no one outshines each other. I’m glad that they had a big Korean fanbase but sad that international kpop stans slept on them.

In my opinion..., lovelyz is not disband (jin said that btw), they just not renew they contract but still promote under lovelyz name (thats explain why baby soul not leave woollim). Kinda like infinite, only 2 member still under woollim but the 6 member still infinte. And i'm sure they can comeback as full team like 2pm, 2am, and more... love you much lovelyz!!!!
That's what they say to keep you hooked even though they won't come back. KARA members said the same yet they haven't done anything in years. Don't get your hopes up too high.

I STILL listen to/watch Lovelyz performance of Moonlight on the Queemdom soundtrack. They grew up and blew me away. They seemed so lost at the beginning, trying new sounds here and there, new looks too, but the last two performances of Cameo, and the Moonlight..those girls just had fun and did their thing up there. I've been a fan ever since.
thank you for approaching the false jisoo accusations cautiously as a fan it hurts my heart seeing theres been kpop commentary channels who don't mention the false results and the comments go crazy slandering her. Their ultimate disbandment is 100% the fault of their horrible company. its weird seeing international fans think they disbanded due to lack of popularity when they do decently well esp in their main market south korea and groups that do way worse last longer because they have the support from their company.

also a thing worth pointing out was Lovelyz's friendly rivalry with Oh My Girl, both followed relatively similar concepts, both from mid tier companies, both made hits that revived their careers (Achoo / Secret Garden), both went into queendom (omg even covered destiny-lovelyz which skyrocketed their popularity), but exited with two completely different paths cus their companies acted completely opposite

Been a Lovelyz fan since predebut and honestly the fact that woollim didn’t take advantage of achoo’s popularity still makes me mad. Every comeback they released amazing music , they are all so talented and it makes me mad that they were so under appreciated by the company and by the public…. I’m really going to miss them 💔 I also hope this becomes a wake up call for woollim because Golcha is going down the same path and I would hate to see them disband too

i'm actually so happy they left that company, i've been waiting for that to happen for YEARS. they had good songs, there's no denying that, but concept-wise it felt like woollim have always been two steps back from what the others did. and not just concept, it felt like that in everything else. these girls have so much potential that wasn't fully shown. so now, when they are free, i hope they can show us everything that they didn't get chance to. i'm so looking forward to that.

Im surprised nathan and a lot of people didn’t know about lovelyz I thought they were more famous given how inconic achoo is and the popularity of destiny and their appearance on queendom. The show that tried to group some of the best girl groups and soloist in SK together. If you haven’t watched queendom you definitely should because I loved their stages. They’re super talented and if you like mijoo I fell in love with her and kei especially on that show and you get to see her more professional side on it since a lot of people apparently didn’t know she sung and danced. All the members are great though so I hope the whole group gets more appreciation.
I assume they weren't as big for the international fans. I doubt too many people in Korea refers to Lovelyz as Mijoo and Friends.

@@jordanthompson2490 I mean, I'm not sure if the fans of Nathan watch any of the variety shows that Mijoo star in, but she essentially mentions that she is in a girl group all the time. The running joke is that she gave the idol life up to be a comedienne.

I loved them for so many years, and in my point of view, it seemed like they were a pretty big deal in korea with sales on par with red velvet. But as you said they never really blew up internationally. Their skills are seriously underrated. But as we all know about Kpop, its not talent that decide if you get big, only popularity

for personally me i just knew 3 members mijoo jisoo kei, but still because they made really strong impact on me I was literally waiting for them to have a comeback and I would have supported them as well I was really excited to see mijoo as an idol performing on stage and getting recognition as an idol members yet because of mihaps happened due to agency I didn't get the chance so for now ill support mijoo
Actually, before, it was Kei the most popular. She was everywhere, viral for her angelic voice, doll-like visual and aegyo queen. She even debuted solo.
But Lovelyz was popular as a group too. Their cute concept did well for years. They just needed a first win and they won in 2017.
Then Minjo became viral for that video on Twitter.
I literally saw a clip of their song Obliviate on Instagram when someone was talking about their disband but I liked the clips so much I needed to hear the whole song b/c honestly I had never heard of them before, & I am kicking myself 🤦🏽♀️ they had good songs & a lot of potential smh
I adore Goodnight Like Yesterday. I'm not a big fan of the "innocent" concept girl groups (nothing against them, I just prefer other stuff) but this song is just so beautiful and melancholy. Highly recommended 🥰
I honestly really love them and their music. I have no skips in every album they have released. They are the only GG I stan. No one has their concept or something similar. I don't know if I'll be able to stan a new GG after this. I'm already a picky person. I know most fans would blame their company for the artist's disbandments. We (Lovelinus) were just sad and trying to get by after the announcement. It was expected. And yes, Woollim did them dirty by not giving them that much comebacks but lately......Woollim is having an issue when it comes to their treatments with their artists even to their employees. Their were already complain/s from their former employee/s long ago and now, that issue re-surfaced. Aren't you curious why the other members who suppose to renew change their minds? The once who wanted to renew may have wanted an agreement with Woollim. Probably asking for more comebacks especially promotions. That's just my guess because before the disbandment annoucement, Jisoo let out her frustrations about the management including the unfair treatments. She said they kept asking for comebacks. They feel really bad for making their fans wait for so long. She quickly apologize even tough she's just being honest. Woollim most likely made her apologize.....like another company I know. Even long ago they couldn't imagine disbanding. They basically wanted to be active for a long time....if they were treated well. Also, aren't you curious why their leader Babysoul renewed? 7/8 did not renew except her? Mijoo and Kei were already the most known member outside group activities and both did not renew. What do you think? You may already have an idea. I do but since it's just may theory, I won't say it....here.
I'm not expecting but just wishing they'll reform. They might not be 8 members but It's fine. Some of them still wanted to sing and perform. Almost all of them tbh. You can see it in their eyes and words that they desire to perform.
Haven't been a fan for long. Found them during Queendom.. I didn't know about Mijoo's chaos, but Kei was something else. Her partnership with Hwasa is legendary.

I knew about lovelyz and about mijoo but I never used to think mijoo was in lovelyz. I saw lovelyz as a innocent girl concept (like feminine soft vibes) and mainly knew kei.

WTF?? Lovelyz is Mijoo and friends to international fans (mainly new) who didn't know about the group. Lovelyz in South Korea was one of the most prominent and known girl groups, but the difference with other groups is that they weren't known internationally. Ah-Choo was one song of theirs that became a hit in korea in their tima and everyone knows that song, and if you look in Melon, you will see that they have a lot of fans and are not even that far from the most known girl groups compared to spotify (also, they have more fans in melon that a lot of groups which internationally are veery famous).
I know you didn't mean any harm, but please before releasing a video make sure to verify the statements that you say.... You even get wrong that they won their first win last year and it's not difficult to search this things.
