      Thanks so much! I am very honored by your kind words. Remember, YOU TOO can have this cool a BVS figure! Obviously, it is possible! I mean, this is the same figure you have, same head, same parts, if you have it out of box. Just take time and make the task fun and simple! You might can try (or buy on Ebay) a pleather cape...but, at least the cloth cape it comes with is very nice! Also, it's amazing what a good misting spray of Mr Hobby Mr Super Clear Matt finish does for it! I call it "De-Toying Spray!" Works every time!😜👍

    Looks fantastic. Did you not repaint the blue/grey base color first? Or did you purely dry brush with dark grey over the top of the orginal blue/grey color?

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  7 месяцев назад +1

      Good eyes! I simply drybrushed the dark grey color (Vallejo Dark Grey) over the existing paint, and extended that to the not touched up backside. The color should be a total sort of darker cool blue grey when finished. Thanks for the comment!

      Thanks so much! It may simply be the nuances. I have painted and done stuff like this for so long, I can't remember when I didn't. I am sure I've picked up some intangible lessons in there, that may or may not show up. Then again, we always like it when someone else cooks for us, so it could be you are simply being hard on yourself! 😉

    How did d you remove the neck part of the cowl to get the new cape under it?

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  7 месяцев назад +3

      Removed the head and neck pig, and dipped the upper body in very hot water (microwave in a cup for 2 min! It is HOT!) for about 30 sconds or so, dried it, and SLOWLY pried the cowl off, starting at the back, and trimming the inner neck post when it didn't let loose. (There is a sort of pin within a pin). Once removed, I removed the cloth cape, then I dremelled a sort of trench in the front side for the wire in the cape to fit into. (Refer to my 89 Keaton McFarlane redo video and it better shows what I did!) Hope this helps.

    This is amazing! The colors, head placement & cape are spot on. Really wish this is how it would've looked like straight out the box, since it's in my top 3 favorite Bat suits. Also I believe the batarang he comes with shouldn't be so huge.

    Good work. How did you do your wired cape? Did you just use fabric glue, or another method?

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  7 месяцев назад +1

      Cut it out on my table and simply ran a thin track of some Fabric-Tac glue on the outer seam, about half an inch wide, then set my wire (pulled from a phone line wire) in the middle of that and folded it over, pressing all the way. Came out pretty well. I am not a pro cape maker, they are on Ebay, and I have some of the ones out there, but I am happy with how mine came out. Thanks for commenting!

    did your swap the head? somehow it looks so much better!

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hope. No head swap. I ALMOST did, with another brand almost perfectly scaled head from an older Justice League figure, that had a great likeness, but then I thought about it, and said, no, this is all McFarlane or not at all. And, he just works better on the shorter neck. I did paint a little black into the sides of the mask at the face area, narrowing the opening for the face. That may have helped the likeness some.

    Looks good.
    Cape looks too shiny and pristine. Needs 5oclock shadow. But def better than how it comes stock.
    What's the line across the top of his abs, looks like a cut?

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  7 месяцев назад +1

      I mention (too late ) in my comments, that I didn't notice that open wound of a seam gap in the upper abdominal piece. In normal poses, it mostly gets hidden by the upper part, but when I shot this, there is it is for all to see! lol! As for the 5oclock shadow, bingo! You got me! I forgot that too. And, I thought to spray the cape with my dullcoat, and forgot. So, I have to dub you, "Sharp Eyes" because you saw all that. SO, to you kids out there reworking your figure, do those things too, putty and paint the seam, dull the cape and add some 5oclock (which I may go back and do yet...) and THEN, you have a truly reworked figure! ✌😉

      Upgrading is fun for me. It's not for everyone, but I love it, since I have yet to ever find a figure or model or whatever, that was just right out of the box. So, I am sorta made for that kinda thing. Not everyone is. I can see how your logic would work for those that do not nor do not want to alter their acquisitions. 😉
