You can offer to educate him, talk to him. Often people are just scared of the word herpes itself and they run. On the other side, he can be just showing his true self. If he ran away for something that minor, then it just means you were not meant to be. I know it's hard to hear, but he'd find something else soon enough that would bother him enough to go.

tbh I don't get how promiscuity isn't a factor? It takes 3 months for your body to develop the antibodies that the herpes test looks for. That means you have a 3 month window before the test where you just don't know. You shouldn't give an excuse that you can get it from kissing someone because while you can get oral herpes that way, genital herpes is a lot less likely to be passed through kissing. I say being promiscuous is a factor but it doesn't mean you will have herpes, what you could do is do what porn stars do and have a test every 2 weeks. After 3 months of doing this you now have a 2 week window where you just don't know instead of a 3 month window. But you have to be consistent with it.

No. When you get infected, the body starts building up antibodies and once you have those antibodies, if you come in contact with herpes again, the body will recognize it and fight it. Hence, it won’t appear on another part of the body.

I feel like it would be important to know for potential partners for one. Are there ways to reduce the chance of infection? Are people with herpes that are in committed relationships and have sex with their partners pretty much guaranteed to transmit herpes to their partners?
It's important to communicate. If, at the end of the day, both people don't care, then they don't care. If one is not comfortable, then it's good to either get tested or to move on. If i don’t kiss anyone, and just hug or if i touch something and someone else touches the object after me, will they become infected? I am more nervous about my family getting it
It is not transmitted through air, only with skin to skin contact. So, if you have genital herpes, they won't come in contact with it. If you have oral herpes, just don't kiss them while you have an outbreak, or share drinks, etc. Otherwise, they're your family. Human touch is a normal daily occurrence, you should not feel like you're any different.

Yes, technically you can. But the virus dies shortly after leaving the living cell, so way less likely than a direct skin to skin contact.
