I installed Chrome OS on my Dell Inspiron 620, and it was a decent experience. The only gaming I did was with xCloud, and occasionally had brief green screens that I attribute to Sandy Bridge.
No matter how bad your new laptop/desktop is, always remember that 15 years ago it would be cutting edge technology ;) Therefore, there are certainly some games for it.
TRULY TRULY been waiting for this video ever since i started getting into chromebooks. Knowing ive already been so used to android i alwys felt like chromebooks were my go to for getting that cpu power. They might not be all that good now but i do believe one day theyll be as powerful as other computers
looks exactly like my mums chromebook with her older age all she uses it for streaming tv shows and browsing the internet, it does the job for her needs
i would recomend boosteroid rather than geforce now, boosteroid offers infinite gaming time and no waiting time. At the same price

Google Stadia runs well on Chromebooks and is Google's version of GeForce Now. For $200 it is hard to beat Chromebooks for basic web surfing, light media consumption, and cloud gaming. You can't do much more than that on a Chromebook, but that fits the demand of most people out there.
@Davemike27 a very sad development. Google did practically nothing to push a service that could have been the next step in gaming for most people and instead just let it wither and die.
Man anyone remember the old day's in middleschool when the black plastic cheap chromebooks where such garbage they could barley lood google slides. Now we can play actual games on them awesome comeback in my opinion. Great video as always.

Dead cells, huntdown,GTA San Andreas... the play store has some great games. But they are older triple A's or indies... also. A great gamecube and ps2 emulators. Gaming on a chrome book isnt half bad
There are also DOS emulators for android, so you could run some older PC games.
Can you guys do a new $1,500 build guide? I’m trying to build a PC and that’s the budget. I’m sure there are other places to look for that type of video, but I’ve had some bad luck trying to do that, and you guys have proven trustworthy.

I installed Linux on my Chromebook, then was able to install Steam on it. You can't play anything demanding on it, but older easy titles aren't terrible on them.
Whats the processor and ram you was working with and was you able to run skyrim on it?
@@jefferyflood I have the Galaxy Chromebook, i5-10210U (4c/8t) with 8gb of ram. I don't have skyrim but games like league of legends, rocket league & Mafia 2 run fine. Only a 60hz monitor though.

The ToastyBros don't get any special deal on the GPU's or anything else, they buy it just like I or you would. Not saying that they have the best prices but they defenitly aren't the worst, besides their shipping time is...top notch, you could have your PC in two days, while with HP and other companies it can take up to 3 weeks or more lol.

The thing about game streaming like GeForce Now is, if you can afford and internet connection that's good enough to run it, then you can probably afford a good gaming PC.

I've played genshin impact on the same type of chromebook, it actually uses a mobile layout so it's kinda annoying to play

I usually play on my Series X and still play PS2 but my wife got a Chromebook for a failed online job venture and we are stuck with it now because these things literally have no resale value lol, its not terrible for a cheap pc to surf the web or do minor things online. im going to give Geforce now a try. Thanks again.

Chromebooks are good but i prefer WIndows its much more origanized then the chromebook menues but if you are a low budget gamer and you dont want a pc yet chromebooks are the wave for you to choose from some chrombooks have hdmi and some dont so really you would need a usb port to connect to a tv or monitor or a bigger screen my favorite part of my chromebook is i can connect to diffrent devices around me or i can just watch videos.
I just got my Lenovo Flex 3 Chromebook brand new for $100 on Best Buy back to school sell!! I bought one for my younger sister as well.
I have the same one from Walmart and its not bad also with bad internet Streaming is not that bad...
Also when going to a place with WIFI and Xcloud or RUclips block with a Chromebook we can by pass it by going to Google WIFI...
But hopefully Chrome OS will get better soon....
This chrome book is decent if you are on a school chrome book. However, they’re not as worth it as Windows laptops for similar prices if not cheaper(Micro Center has one 11.6 inch laptop for $79 rn) and so I think having the full functionality of Windows is pretty good on top.

Are there really only certain kind of Chromebooks that can run any video gaming software including old Gameboys, emulators for video games originally for Nintendo and 3ds? Also including like call of duty, GTA, and Minecraft? Will they be under an account where you can play them with your existing data from other devices and download mods to certain games on a Chromebook?

Commenting as I view:
- For viewers, I DO NOT recommend anything with a Celeron N3350 in 2022-- You're looking at updates until June 2024 only. So the one in this video, DO NOT BUY.
- It's a 45W charger. It's not 15W. It's 15V at 3 amps.
- EVERY Chromebooks USB-C port is full service. Means it does Power Delivery, data signaling rate (most at 5Gbps, some at 10Gbps) and DIsplayport Alt mode, so yes, video out.
- I haven't used RetroArch, but maybe it's with the android apps permissions? Try checking system settings, apps, google play apps, manage apps and find Retroarch and allow the permission required and restart the app.

My ASUS chromebook runs games like Roblox with minimal lag, it's mostly depending on the heavy graphic of such roblox game that makes it lag.

Long story short:
You Can't.
If you really have to buy ChromeBook, try to buy XiaoMi or Samsung, simply because they're using an actual ARM CPU like Snapdragon or Exynos.
So if you buy ChromeBook from Xiaomi or Samsung, you can natively play Genshin Impact or some other open world game that's available on Android
