Take the genie wished free concept a step further by pairing it with the Pact of the Genie warlock. Play it as steadily regaining your powers and oh yeah, the lamp is still your home. Be your own Patron.
I definitely think one of the fun bits to work with is the Fey thing, because think of a Bugbear like this. You could ACTUALLY be the "Monster under the Bed" Tall, with shaggy fur, black enough to be a silhouette, glowing eyes of some sort. True Fey Horror
Or it could be based on The HideBehind, a creature from folklore that was always behind a person, hiding behind trees Scooby-Doo style and attacking with long arms.
Your channel is an inspiration! I took an aasimar as my race for an archer, and I reflavored the features as a normal human with a friendship with the winds. Healing winds to breathe life back into a fallen comrade, and flight as a gust of wind lifts you off the ground
Pterosaurs were not dinosaurs, they were a separate class of reptiles. Also, there were some birds that evolved leathery wings, they were called Ambopteryx.
I had this crazy idea of playing a fallen star (I took inspiration from the Stardust movie) whose goal was to became a famous medieval rockstar, so I’ve talked with my DM and we reskinned the fire genasi.
@@TheClericCorner YES! The only downside is that the DM also took inspiration from the movie and created a bunch of legends involving the properties of a living star. Half the NPCs we’ve met are trying to kill me… LOL
I know this idea is from the legacy version and uses a bit of homebrew, but I've always wanted to play a penguin aarakocra which has a swimming speed instead of a flying speed, so if you use legacy it's a swimming speed of 50ft which would be really interesting
Thanks! I literally would never have thought to do something like that if I hadn’t come across your channel. You’re really doing excellent work, reinvigorating the way I look at the game
You said the season for Eladrin is determined by a die roll, but actually it says "Choose your season or roll on the Eladrin Seasons table. Your Trance trait lets you change your season." So you get to pick your initial season and you get to change to whatever you want on a long rest (and of course you could roll for both of those if you want) You'd still have to work with your DM if you want it to change when you enter a new biome, or you could make that work by you changing when you rest in said biome
@@TheClericCorner also, forgot to say, great video as always! Interesting what new ideas can be made with the updates to these races, this book has a lot of flavor potential with the full embrace of the Tasha rule of getting to pick the ability score increase, and getting to pick size for some races
Absolutely! Got one for the Eberron races in a couple weeks! This might also help if you haven't seen it already! ruclips.net/video/pm1OGNprkQE/видео.html
What was that about the kraken slave people? I can’t find anything about them but they sound really good for an upcoming one shot I’m doing on a ship at sea. Thank you!
7:31 For anyone who want's to play a Fiernewt please keep in mind that they're inherently evil and enjoy eating humanoid flesh. I also recommend taking a page from MTG's book with the colour pay, specifically black to add more depth to them.
@@TheClericCorner Orcs are not inherently evil they just have a different way of life and come from environments poor on resources witch led to the development of a warrior culture. Fiernewts legitimately are inherently evil witch I don't think is necessarily a bad thing because it can be genuinely interesting trying to roleplay a evil character who is inherently bad if approached seriously and are put into situations that challenge those beliefs.
ELADRIN SHOULD BE FEY also ever notice that all of them have art including a scimitar and a longbow? strangely my eladrin character can't use those... btw your vids inspired me to reflavor my subclass so thanks i guess
I prefer not to think of it like that. WOTC can do what they want. I'll continue to enjoy the game, and the extra invisibility uses my firbolg gets lol :)
I think it's a great book, it's got some problems but i think almost all the updates are good I like the focus on proficiency bonus instead of short rests that a lot of them get Aracocra and Yuan-ti have gotten the biggest buff by far, by nerfing them they're now actually viable and won't be banned as much In the end this is the only way wizards can actually "fix" races because some people only use the physical books Plus getting this many player races from one book is good value for player's, now i don't have to buy a bunch of books i won't use on d&d beyond

For Aaracokra, reflavor it to a Winged Tiefling. "What about the talons?" Your tail's holding a dagger, son!

Here’s a Lewis Carroll idea for the Bugbear. The Bandersnatch.
here's a dumb little companion character i'm working on for my story:
wild magic barbarian unicorn-satyr with a horn that will pierce the heavens
Harengon makes a killer Dhampir.

Bugbears can make some good Owlbears
I can also see a Maug using the tortle stats
I used the aarokockra stats and the bite attack from the beast barbarian to make a vampire character that I really like

How about reflavoring the tortle as a crab/lobster or maybe the slime person from spelljammer as a mimic since they follow the same ideas

"reflavor"! Every lore and characters are different. Fire newts are just as inherently evil as orcs are. Depends on the campaign:)
