The Airport Station is in a much safer area than 79th St. I was warned by a station ticket agent not to leave my car in the parking lot at 79th St., so I chose to embark, then later, disembark from Hollywood. Nice Intermodal Station!
If true that Amtrak will have plans to go to Miami International Airport, this would I believe the third airport connection station Amtrak will have throughout the entire country.
They can’t start right now because Amtrak has offset the Silver Meteor’s temporary suspension with a consist increase on the Silver Star. The Silver Star is a monster train right now with five sleepers, five coaches, a cafe, a diner, and a baggage car. That huge train doesn’t come close to fitting here. Amtrak will bring the Silver Star back to its normal consist in May when the Silver Meteor is restored. Are the chances good that Amtrak will be ready to move service here this summer?
So… if I was wanting to book a sleeper on Silver Service to Miami for late August should I book now into the current station or wait a bit? Thoughts on the current station location/transfer to Tri Rail? Last I checked the Brightline schedule doesn’t sync with Silver Service to transfer at a northern station. Awesome video.
@@jasonsummers7129 It’s a 10 minute walk between the MetroRail/Tri-Rail Station and the Amtrak Station. You can take the L bus between the 2 stations I think.
I've taken Tri-Rail from West Palm Beach to the Metrorail transfer numerous times before Brightline commenced service. My wife and I would take Metrorail to Government Center and the jump on the Inner Loop to get to Bayside. Now that we can catch Brightline at City Place and don't have to trek across town, we haven't taken Tri-Rail in a while. So, I'm curious about Amtrak at the new airport station. How will it turn around? Is there track there that loops so the Genesis locos are facing north? Or will they have to back in like with the Ybor station in Tampa?
I have to ask, why doesn't Amtrak run the locos top and tail, one locomotive on each end, like elsewhere in the world ? It would certainly make the return journey easier with motive power at each end of the train. Cheers, Gary.
@@TolgaEastCoast I’m still not getting how they turned it for the trip back to Hialeah. I’m not too familiar with the area and don’t see anything like a wye or loop near that station.
They can rebuild the old wye onto the Homestead Sub, or shove it back three miles. Amtrak regularly shoves from Neve Wye to Tampa Union Station, a similar distance.

Nice Intermodal Station!
Finally, the airport has Amtrak service again!
It would be nice if Brightline also came there.
Service is still pending, but this is a major step towards it.
The airport station never had Amtrak service
@@gravelydon7072 I can see this… never happening sadly
@@SetiPrime The track work is already there to do it though. Miami downtown, WPB, Miami airport station, WPB, then North to Cocoa and Orlando.
Yes I am ready this is like an upgrade for Miami to have Amtrak coming in,,,,
I can’t wait to see Amtrak coming into and leaving Miami Airport’s Tri-Rail Station @ToglaEastCoast
When is it gonna happen? I want to see it happen.
Was nice seeing you tolga, had a blast!!
Likewise buddy, to many more railfan outings with ya!

Yet AGAIN, another GREAT video by THE TURK™ Thanks for sharing Tolga! [BRICK]
Thanks GATOR!

Who knows. Meteor or not, I wouldn't think they'd formally transition service there until at least the late summer.

Amazing video TURK it was amazing day seeing Amtrak move and with positive comments it looks like it may start service
Thanks, Laz!
I do like the P42DC's and great video by the way. Please do more of this.
So, Train Simulator got it right. A 10-car + 2-locomotive Amtrak train could indeed fit without blocking NW 25th street.

There's a turn around via the Homestead subdivision just west of the Intermodal station.
How are they supposed to turn the engines around to make a trip back north?
They’ll probably go in reverse mode to go into the other Amtrak station where they have the circular track surrounding the station.
I'll never understand why they didn't go with Miami Central Station instead!
I have to ask, why doesn't Amtrak run the locos top and tail, one locomotive on each end, like elsewhere in the world ? It would certainly make the return journey easier with motive power at each end of the train.

Americans always try to make everything harder XXDD.
Thank you.
What will they do about the longer cars?
Street traffic will be rerouted to nearby NW 28th Street if the trains are long enough to block 25th.
@@TolgaEastCoast but longer cars won't have access to the platforms
@@crazydudetz then walk ur ass to the front cars 😂😂
Amtrak at the Intermodel. Just awesome
Agreed!
Excellent!
You didn't show how it was gonna leave and how is it? unless another train comes to pull the train from the back
Relatively unexciting process. They shove out with a crew member using an air whistle on the last car. Just like in Tampa.

Awesome video. I Hope to see more model train video's soon.
Thanks! Stay tuned.
I hear they are in negotiation to finally relocate to this station. I am hoping this gets done soon.
Will they close the station at 79th street?
Did Brightline and Tri-Rail get their stuff sorted out too?
What is the frequency you were using for the radio
What’s the progress on the replacing the Miami Canal Drawbridge? Will the make it a historic monument like the did with New River?
Don't know.
Have they put the Wye back in yet? That would be a big help.
No, but who knows if this could be a later on move. Wait and see I guess
Can't wait to take that train
Finally!
So was this just a test and wait another 7 years ?
Awesome video
I hope you had a good time filming the amtrak at Miami International airport station
Where would they wye it or does it have to reverse back to Hialeah?

Awesome!!
How exciting! How about saving a few bucks, probably $10K and using an engineers wheel with loco and car dimensions?
The train is lily from highland valley
You should know that Rails of highland valley was made by a pedo and foamer.
Does anyone know of any updates on Amtrak using this station?
Service from the MIC is set to begin sometime this year.
@@gametendough3380 Good. Hopefully more expansions in Florida will follow.
Does this mean the current Miami station will be replaced/deleted?
I doubt it, maybe both stations will have Amtrak service.
Why is the speed limit so low on that line?
The switches are fairly tight plus this is a stub end terminal. Speed-based signaling rules also require certain slowdowns especially at 28th Street.
Keep dreaming, foamers
