I'm a Miami native now living in the Midwest. Back in the early '90s, I rode the Metro-Rail from the Dadeland South station to the Tri-Rail station, then Tri-Rail up to visit a girlfriend in West Palm Beach one a week for a damn year! I was more familiar with the train station than I was with her. Must have been love!
It’s shame that the old F40s never really had a great chance to be at this station after it opened, because the last one retired in February of 2016, less than a year after the station opened. The station looked so clean back when it opened, now almost all stations are falling into disrepair and need work done. This video reminds me of the old times. Great video!
Hey, The F40's actually have been refurbished, and some have already returned to tri-rail for testing. I published a video recently that I'll link to of the first test train of the newly refurbished F40's. ruclips.net/video/QYILbHbqezY/видео.html&ab_channel=trainmanrisko
That was the conductor keeping an eye on the platform as the train departed, they have a seat on the top of the car where they can look out the window, and control the PA and doors
+Kiss Attila it's complicated, it's a combination of electric equipment costing billions to install and maintain, along with the low ridership of the system. The reason that lines in Europe are electric is because they have millions of daily riders on high speed lines, making it cheaper to operate an electric system. On tri-rail, the system has 1 train per hour, an transports a small 15,000 riders daily, making electric trains impractical and too costly to operate. Even though they are better for the environment, trains, especially the current hybrid locomotives tri-rail operates, are only a extremely small part of the global pollution.
The station is owned by the Florida Department of Transportation and operated by the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority. It will service the local Tri-Rail commuter trains, Amtrak, and Miami's MetroRail. It also serves Miami's MetroBus and Greyhound. Amtrak does not own the station in any way.

haha, the trip can be quite long, having done it myself, your lucky if everything runs on time now ;)

What type of prime mover does the BL36PH use?
Rolls Royce Tugboat Engine.
Crews actually call the BL36PHs "Tugboats".
As in they use an actual tugboat engine? Watercraft technology modified to be integrated into railroad technology?
Yes.

Cool so much commuters
Ehh is that a passengers head sticking out the window of the last train?

trainmanrisko wow never seen it done from the top of a car
Now that I think about it, I haven't either, but it's probably the station type that determines if that can be done or not(that's my guess lol)
Yea because FRA regulations definitely wouldn't allow a passenger to stick their head out of the window
tommy4trains thanks bro
what and metrorail and metrobus
WOW 3000 views, thanks guys!
Wow. Can you imagine living near the train with the really annoying bells and whistles?
Haha I have been told that they get used to it
Three words- sleep with earplugs!lol Seriously, I do.
It is great but why isn't it electric like in Europe not to pollute the air?

that is owned by amtrak
