Absolutely splendid video! It's still such a strange concept to me that a tram has 2 cabs - I love the end when it's made for passengers, but I have to admit, it does make more sense :)
The negative side of bidirectional trams is that at the terminus, the driver have to change from direction, and maybe loose some precious time. That is a problem you don't have on unidirectional trams, so from that point of view they are more time-efficient
@@cabridepirate not true, bidirectional trams still support loops. in The Hague you still have a lot of them even though most lines (and from 2026 all lines) only run bidirectional trams. But needing to do an entire loop vs walking to the other side of the tram takes essentially the same time. And there should be enough time between the end and start of each trip for the driver to take a break and some margin in case the tram is delayed. So with a properly planned schedule it should never be a problem to begin with.

Så ind til da kan chauffør bare bytte ende. Årsagerne er mange, men nævnes kan, at det kræver færre skinner, færre skiftespor og en midter perron, mindre areal i by områder, hvor grund priser er dyre og folk hellere vil have boliger og erhverv. Det er fordi, at computeren i sporvognen skal køre igennem alle programmer og tjekke for fejlsøgning. Det er det samme som Din mobil eller pc skal gøre før Du kan bruge den. Alt skal installeres på ny, når vogntoget hentes i remisen. Det er også for at se, at der vognstammen ikke står med fejl på siden den sidst blev kørt med. Det ville jo være surt, hvis man kummer ud med et sæt og så fejl opstår på turen, fejl som kunne være rettet inden dagens start, for så skal værkstedet jo ud med et nyt vognsæt og så får man skide balle af ledelsen. Lidt af det samme, skal Vi også gøre i bybusserne, for de har også edb. Med behagelige hilsner fra danmark 😺

17:06: How common is it to deal with traffic like that but drivers don't even notice you are there, until you are really there? I mean, that SUV driver could easily have waited and only cover the other line.
If you watch carefully you will see the driver on the other side greeting the SUV. From the movement of the SUV you can also see the stress getting higher as the tram aproaches.
@@arkanterian4663 It's insane how many SUVs we have on our Dutch roads. When I look around here nowadays, 90% is a SUV, 9% are extremely small cars and only like 1% "normal" sized still.. And the people driving SUVs are the same people complaining about how everything is getting more expensive
Love it! Learned a whole lot and got answers to questions I had from so far. Including the pedal driving. it should feel so well to have a functioning neutral. I've test drive many EV cars. The lack of neutral completely throws me off. In those cars, releasing the accelerator pedal means braking confidently with no way of turning it off.
BYDs also coast when you go off the gas. And regen break if you use the break moderate. I think in general chinese EVs tend to this. I read that China thinks about banning one pedal driving, because people get so used to it, that serious accidents happened, because people forgot about using the mechanical break.
@@brunoais BYD is the biggest chinese car and battery manufacturer. It's quite new on the EU market with their cars. But their batteries are everywhere (e.g. the Tesla Model Y manufactured in Germany uses their batteries).

Now, after noticing it I see a new video from you but the tram looks wiere with a wrap of bright colors and I started reading but it wasn't English, nor Dutch - It was Turkish and from the Istanbool Metro channel that has a very simular logo to your new one 😁 Aoart from that it's nice to finally see good weather and so much green.

The left pedal is dead man switch. We have to press it continuously while driving, there is no release required. If the pedal is released, a buzzer will sound and the tram will brake automatically after 5 seconds of inactivity.
Enige uitleg tijdens deze video omtrent het opstarten was wel handig geweest. Nu zie ik alleen maar iemand die wat knoppen indrukt. Ongetwijfeld nuttig, maar als je een video maakt hoe je de cabine opzet, laat dan ook weten waarom je dit allemaal moet doen. Nu snapte ik er geen moer van.
I could not imagine open air tram holds, since here we have a constant issue with people jumping over the fences to tag the trams and metro cars... though the most that I drive, i have not seen them being tagged at the old Koskela depot... which is gonna be re-built from the ground up...
I was gonna say your FOV is too high then i realized it's not a game when i saw your hands... That camera is weird. But i love the vibe, reminds me of the U-Bahn in the old Train Sim, i'm sad this isn't part of the newest games.

Some endpoints don't have a loop, so it makes sense to have 2 driver cabs.

I have driven a Siemens train in Japan. I was impressed that the buttons and sounds were the same.

I think Rolls Royce Spectre has a mode that disable the regenerative braking for that ‘neutral feel’ as you call it.
