I can watch Kathleen's specials over and over and laugh every time like it's my first time seeing it.

I love Kathleen. I went to school at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the late 80s, early 90s, and would go see her at Deja Vu every time she rolled through. She's great.
Tom's a generous non-interrupting interviewer that graciously let Kathleen (I'm pretty sure that was her behind the mic) to complete her great stories.

What a great interview. Kathleen Madigan is a favorite comedian. No, she will never run out of thoughts, and when she's done with the tours & the stage, I'd love to read the book that Will downpour out of her brain, over her tongue, into some transcriber's ear, and onto the page.
There are certain comedians that you could watch over and over again, same jokes, and still laugh your pants off 😂Kathleen Is definitely one of my favourites I laugh so hard I feel like I’ve done a ton of situps by the end of her show 😆😂🤣😂

As someone who is Autistic (and lives in STL) I appreciate that Kathleen can joke about Autism without making fun or ridiculing it. I watched her special last night and it's great! Also if you want authentic Mexican food in STL, head down to Cherokee Street. Lots of Mexican owned businesses and restaurants with delicious food.
She does that with a lot of topics, it’s awesome
I agree. I dislike "comedy/comedians" that is/who are hateful/nasty/condescending....Kathleen's observations are spot on without being unkind.

This is a great interview! Kathleen, Kris Kristofferson is suffering from Lyme disease. It was initially diagnosed as Alzheimer's due to his symptoms.
Kathleen, your humor is fantastic! And your heart is kind. Saw you in Ft. Myers a few years ago and laughed harder than I thought possible. It was my first time going anywhere after the pandemic began and you lifted my heart. Many thanks

@@hbeachley Kathleen has a RUclips channel, during lock down she read books to us. She would end each night with ‘night night Termite’; it originated with her buddy comedian Ron White. So he’s papa termite, she’s mama termite, and the lock down fans are the termites. She even made a shirt with ‘night night termites’ on it, really cute.
It’s a great series with her commentary throughout, makes ya love her even more!🤣💖

Kathleen, I get your upbringing. Irish catholic from PA, and my mother made the same food, I knew the day of the week by the food, one day was meatloaf,, another lamb chops, Fridays tuna fish, sunday grilled cheese and tomato soup. Never had Chinese or Mexican until I was an adult on my own.

Finally saw her in Santa Rosa. I laughed so much , along with my mid 70s mom, my throat was sore afterwards. One of the best deliveries in the laughing biz. My she live long and prosper🖖

Having grown up in a small town in the midwest in the 50s and 60s she just hits my funny bone everytime I see her!

Kathleen is a beautiful woman. Anybody that's a night owl, heavy tour schedule, who can still look good, makeup free, after no sleep,is fit.
Makes sense that having to prep the same meals for eons equates to being forced to use the same material for every single show. Stifling. Most peeps would go cray, too.

So glad that even when you retire your specials will always be streaming somewhere and I won’t get sick of them. Hopefully these Podcasts will stay forever on RUclips. We are so lucky that you do this for us. We can’t all see you on the road anyway. Kathleen’s Pubcast’s have kept many of us going and she has kept up even after the pandemic. New every Wednesday and great stuff. We are spoiled, and yes, I go nuts with the comments like I am here. Just so much to respond to. If you can keep that up you don’t need the road. You’re legends forever. When people are quoting you regularly I think you’ve made it (not that you weren’t already, but think you can gain followers without touring, it just doesn’t pay well other than getting praise)
I think Kathleen is the only “idol” I could meet and chat with, that wouldn’t ruin it for me. She’s legit herself, and I have so much respect for that.

Kathleen is right about women and credit cards. My father died at 41 in 1969. Shortly after that, Sears notifed my mom that they were revoking her credit card because there was no longer a man to sign for it.
She's not entirely correct. In 1974 (not 1976), women gained, for the first time, the right to apply for credit in their own name without a male co-signer. I believe you although it would have been a ridiculous practice or policy of Sears because credit had already been established and how did they discover his death? It wasn't all women. Most married women (especially with children) did not work outside of the home partly because they didn't need to. Consequently credit was extended to women on a case by case basis. My mother bought her first house in 1968 without a co-signer. She had been divorced and working for 3 years by then.

@@rrrjjj5572 Yes that is true but I wrote about more than anecdotal experiences. I agree with what Kathleen said "There's a lot of women in the 70s that lost their minds because of the situation." The situation being the influence of the women's liberation movement (second-wave feminism) and economic conditions including the low cost of housing and education and an increased demand for clerical workers. I presume a good Catholic mother like Vicky Madigan would not have filed for divorce which in my opinion, would have been more influential to what "sent her over the edge" than having "like 10 things to pick from" to prepare for meals.

You need a catch phrase for her to toss out like her pronunciation of Rocky LaPorte’s “good for you” (can’t spell guh fo you) or John Pinette’s Nay nay. You two and Nate Bargatze are my Mount Rushmore of comedians. ❤️ I guess Gabe “Fluffy” and Gaffigan might be the other two heads…but I guess I haven’t seen everyone. I remember the credit card thing. When I was divorced in 1973, I lost all my credit cards because they were in my married name! It was outrageous then and horrifying now that I remember it.

I first saw Kathleen in Madison back in the 90s. Been a fan, ever since. I'm a survivor of a big, Polish Catholic family (#7 of 8) and can relate to much of what she shares. I hope Kathleen visits Tom Barnard's new morning show in the Twin Cities.

I can relate to this woman. 7 Kids, an aunt in a wheelchair, we had the very basics growing up. I had Pizza the first time when I was 8 months Pregnant, and walked by a Domino's. The smell! OMg...Preggo me suddenly HAD to try it. After that, the rest of my Pregnancy...Pizza every Friday night, lol.

We love the content you both give us whether old or new. It’s all in your delivery and you’re both spot on. I could listen to her make fun of her parents every day and she never runs out of material with them. I think family provides good material for all comedians.

I am a 34 year old woman who grew up in a family where both my parents were raised in strict French Catholic Conservative homes so I can relate a lot to Kathleen’s stories 🤣❤️ her work is a form of therapy for me
