Miss Moose puts on her $5 boots from the toteman, and kicks a**😮...How can you dig with 1 hand, and film with the other, and still hold on to what you want!... It baffles science!...Some great photos and I'd love to watch that 8mm film! 📽 enjoyed watching your video 💻
It's a talent haha. I detest chest mounts, so I've learned to work this way. I also do a lot of diggin off-camera, or if I spot something neat in a tote, I'll bring out the camera before I start really digging in the box, so that I can capture that "shocking" moment. I'll break out my reel to MP4 player at some point. Got a shock yesterday at the dentist, as I thought the price I was given was for the root canal and the new crown. Nope, the crown has it's own hefty price tag, oh yay!
Wow! The Tote man bought you lots of treasures Renee, so awesome ❤🥰 oh and your boots looked cool 😎. Shame on the person who tried to steal from the Tote man. Thanks for taking us along on your flea market treasure hunt 👌😊
My husband did recruit training in Great Lakes, Illinois. I grew up in Waukegan, Illinois. We actually met in Kindergarten and have now been married for 42 years. 💖 🤗💖🦋
I LOVE toast too! Especially my Great Grandmom's! She made the BEST homemade bread and she had this really cool bread slicer machine that you hand turned and all of us kids loved when we could slice our own bread. There was nothing like Granny's homemade bread toasted with butter 😊
So nice of everyone and the Tote Man brought you the goods, again! Sad someone is trying to steal, not so good. Great video and always exciting to see you enjoy! Thanks for taking us along! ❤ PS. Hope your back feels better soon!
Wow what a great day with the Tote Man. You found some great stuff. That album with all those cards is fabulous. I so wish we had a flea market like that nearby. 😊
Wow!👍 This was so fun going with you to the flea market❤👏 I love it when nice people are helping each other. Being kind. Ya find kindness right here on this channel!🤩 I love ya Renee. Thank you for being here again today, and to make my life a little better❤ I am a junk journal nut. It is sad that families do not want to pass down photos of great aunt Nelly? I would buy them and make up my new family as I don't have one now.

I lost my lovely Mum in 2019 and I havent had the heart to go through all her cherished photos yet , but watching this today has spurred me on and I hope I will be able to get to it now and may find something in there for you too as I go along. 0:43 These boots are made for walking...and you can´t beat some Nikes for a whopping five bucks, well done, Renée ! Never miss a wooden nickel, not worth a fortune, but nonetheless collectible. Congrats on the scrap book which is a caleidoscope of impressions mainly from the 1950´s ?! Keep it up, and have a great rest of this Thursday (cold and rainy overe here). 🌧Greets from GER, U.
I had to think to myself "It's Thursday?" I feel this week has been so off and also has gone by so fast! The scrapbook has a wonderful array of cards with so many possible projects inspired by them. Add all those projects to the list and hope for a 2-3 day blizzard to get through them! On a side note, I finally used the correct wording in a search to find an online copy of the Berlin telephone directory from 1948. 1947 wasn't available, but I thought 48 would probably work for my Berlin letters as well. Might be a far stretch, but I'm hoping to possibly use that to see if I can find the real name of the woman writing the letters or her house where she lived. I'll add that to my nightly research! Hope things are well across that big pond!
@@PaperandMoose Wow, this means that you got some hints like her adress or something else. Even then it´s difficult to find that lady because a lot of Berlin folks lived as subleaser due to the heavily destroyed city. Fingers crossed, and if you got a result, let me know ! 🤞
Fantastic finds Rene..😮 The Tote Man comes through for you again..😍 Love the old photos and cards..❤😊 There's a special liquid to get sports cards unstuck from albums that were glued in, can't think of the name of it..🤔🙄 Sorry..😊 Take care..👍💕🔥👊
I don't want WORMS...I want _____ I'll let you fill in the blank! Neat boots. That 1960 "Keel" yearbook would be in my collection. Looking into those totes is good back exercise! I found a couple of neat items in my thrift travels yesterday...one I treasure is a 7' LP of the Stalacpipe Organ, located in the Luray Caverns, Luray, Va. The organ features rubber-tipped mallets which strike stalactites (hanging from the cave's ceiling), which have been tuned by a grinding process...each to concert pitch. The result is a sound combining the lingering sounds of organ pipes, as well as a vibraphone. The unique acoustics of the cave creates this ethereal sound. Three picture frames and an interesting fr-g electronic game completed the small haul.
Now that sounds like a great record! I haven't been to those caverns. Here we have a few - Lost River Caverns & Crystal Cave. I've been to both as a child, but would like to go back again. No organs in those caves though! I'll have to take a look on RUclips to see if they have any videos of the Stalacpipe Organ!
Tote Man comes through again. Good deal! Candy corn napkins, love candy corn. I've seen in the past few years also that there are some different colours that are different flavoured from the original. Good day out, great photos 👍👍
Your comment reminded me that I haven't had any candy corn this season yet! Eek, shame on me! I've had the chocolate candy corn, not a big fan. The original is the best! Hope that you are feeling good and that you've had a great week!
I’ve had great success removing antique scrap and advertising from old scrapbooks by using the hot water method. I fill a glass baking dish with the hottest tap water and submerge an album page. In 5-10 min the glue is dissolved and the paper can be separated easily. Often the scrap pieces just float right off. Easy peasy 😀
Wow, amazing stuff from the tote man. Love that so many others handed over things they know you like. Renee, have you ever had a subscriber recognize someone in the photos you find?
I love looking at old photos too. I know why they end up at flea markets. I have many photos dating back to when my grandmother was young and all of my growing up pictures (1960's and beyond) My kids aren't really interested in them so when I die they will probably end up in the land fill unless I send them to you lol. ☺
I use one of those jewelry cleaners. It does work. But in order to work good I soak them for awhile. You can’t clean pearls. Be careful because they can loosen settings with gem stones. I cleaned a beautiful vintage ring that had several different gems and a couple small opals and one of them fell out!
I think I would be competition if I didn’t live so close to the Pacific 😂. The “doll” in the photograph is chalk ware. It was probably won at the carnival where the photo booth was located. Great finds as always.
Oh, wow! You did better than I did today. Thrifting Thursday wasn't great. I found some practical wool undershirts for myself and a set of MCM brass cranes made in Korea, but nothing that fabulous for reselling. It was our first cold frost of the season this morning and nights of aurora, so I'm taking out the camera and tripod tonight and going across the road to the beach to try to capture something. I used to be able to do this on my veranda, but since the new neighbours moved in and installed several outside flood lights, I can't even see the stars. I find it very depressing and disorienting.
I'd feel the same about the neighbor's new lights, what a shame that you aren't able to enjoy the view anymore. I do hope that you are able to capture some good photographs! The wool undershirts sound like a good find. You can't beat being able to purchase something useful for yourself at a lower price!
@@PaperandMoose Yeah, and I live out in a country settlement, between two villages. As soon as they moved here, they went on a rampage against trees, cutting them down, wildlife and the natural dark sky. They should have just stayed in the city. Hi Renee. Great video. You really scored some nice things. I’m just curious, if you don’t mind, what do you do with all the old photos you purchase? Looking forward to your next video.
Definitely another "Day of Renee!" Wally got more cards as a kid than I've received my whole life. At least I'm assuming he was a kid. The photos, scrapbooks and albums are excellent. Do you buy Polaroids? I generally avoid them because I don't know how they hold up over time. It's been a long time since I've found photos at our flea market. The lady with the doll on her neck line - that would be a great Halloween costume with the right doll. If you ever make it to Durham again, there's a restaurant here called "Toast" that you should visit. Hope you go 3/3 with the Tote Man next week! Have a great Thursday!
I don't come across Polaroids that often. If I do, they are usually in one of those sticky page photo albums and those are hard to peel off without ruining anything. Maybe the cycle of those photos ending up in cleanouts, auctions, etc. hasn't occurred yet because people still know who are in the photographs or are keeping them, unless older photos. I received a phone call from my friendly post office worker the other day telling me that I just received the biggest box he ever had come to his post office. I could barely fit in through my front door! The possibilities of what you sent are endless! Thank you in advance!
@@PaperandMoose Hopefully you got both boxes. I definitely was not "Patron of the Day" at Durham's Roxboro Road Post Office when I mailed them. After Postal Workers questioned me about size & weight (before they would even touch it), one sighed to the other, "We have to take it." After all, I was 3" under the length plus girth thing. I don't think I'll send one quite like that again, but I'm glad to know I hold the Bloomsbury package size record (at least during your friend's tenure). In any case, you're more than welcome - I hope it will be a fun one. BTW - did you get that USS Grand Canyon folder? Just curious.
Lots of fun paper. You passed on 'The Keel' the book from Great Lakes recruit training center in Illinois. How come? Another fun day at the flea market!
The headband came from Hobby Lobby. I always check out their winter beanies and headbands when spring arrives, as they mark them down to clearance them out.
I have my grandmother's sheet music( one is a Paramount booklet,) some old advertising postcards and I may send them to you. Will see! I'd rather you have them as my sons aren't interested.
Steel-toed boots are useful in your line of work - house clean-outs can go wrong. If you're an eBay seller, you should learn about baseballs and hats, even if they're not your thing. Money is money.
I would love to understand your ephemera process. You must have a following for this stuff. It's interesting but I know NO ONE who would buy it. I'm impressed. Truly
Plenty of people buy ephemera, with their interests ranging from military history, local history, travel, photographs, rare paper, to those that just use it in their crafts. There are ephemera shows that draw in sellers & buyers, where the show is strictly just ephemera - that’s it. I attend in-person auctions where antique ledgers from the early 1900s sell for hundreds, photo albums from WWII sell for hundreds, local paper from businesses long defunct bring in a decent amount - often purchased by a historian or resident of the town. Ephemera is history. I’ve loved learning & reading about history since I was a young girl, and that love has only become greater with all of the wonderful paper that I find & the history that is being saved by finding it.
Look like you did pretty well, great that people know what you like and look out for you…that can be valuable asset I’ve been doing really great at our flea markets. Last week I found an 18th century OG moulding plane made by Joseph Fuller. He was born in 1724, fought in the revolutionary war, probably made the plane in the 1760s Is in beautiful condition. The girls didn’t have school so they came to the flea market. I was showing Olive some tools and she pulled the plane out from some nothing special 1800s planes, I knew what it was immediately. Got it for $15 Olive told me she needed $3 for a surprise…turns out she found a …in her words “ the most beautiful cat” decoupage on a piece of wood …
Awe, $3 for the most beautiful cat sounds like a good deal! Glad that she enjoys going to the flea market and looking for what she likes. The plane you found sounds amazing! At one of our on-site auctions, that probably would have sold for a good amount as many of the auction regulars collect them & resell them.
The one picture of the navy man in a gold frame was really nice the frame I really liked don’t discount frames. I’ve Botton pictures where I thought the picture would be worth money in the frame ended up being worth a whole lot more especially art deco frames, depending on how fancy they are.
Yes, those were cigarettes, greek ones, Papastratos filter. They could be old ones too. I'm not sure when they stoped producing this exact one. It could be collectible.
You picked up so many goodies this time I saw a blue book or scrapbook in the back of your trunk was that something you got as well I like the colour of blue 🇨🇦🦩
When you shop with the Tote Man, does he just look over all you have and give you a bulk price or does he price each item? Whatever he does, I am sure it is fair.
He gives you a bulk price once he looks over your pile. For some items, mostly larger items like pieces of furniture, artwork, etc., he has a specific price just for that and so he will factor that into whatever else you may have in your pile.
You must be an expert at lamps, as you knew right away that it was a Mr. Lamp, and not a female, or dare I say, one of the other countless genders these days!? 😂 lol.

Renee, where does the Toteman sell at when Blue Ridge closes for the season? Can you visit him during the off season?
Love it
Look like you did pretty well, great that people know what you like and look out for you…that can be valuable asset
I’ve been doing really great at our flea markets. Last week I found an 18th century OG moulding plane made by Joseph Fuller. He was born in 1724, fought in the revolutionary war, probably made the plane in the 1760s
Is in beautiful condition.
The girls didn’t have school so they came to the flea market. I was showing Olive some tools and she pulled the plane out from some nothing special 1800s planes, I knew what it was immediately. Got it for $15
Olive told me she needed $3 for a surprise…turns out she found a …in her words “ the most beautiful cat” decoupage on a piece of wood …
Tote man day / yay 😊
The one picture of the navy man in a gold frame was really nice the frame I really liked don’t discount frames. I’ve Botton pictures where I thought the picture would be worth money in the frame ended up being worth a whole lot more especially art deco frames, depending on how fancy they are.
Yes, those were cigarettes, greek ones, Papastratos filter. They could be old ones too. I'm not sure when they stoped producing this exact one. It could be collectible.
There was a cardinals baseball you threw back and broke my heart.
We all need a, "tote man"!
😂 lol.
First impression: You look as if you are happy-drunk on the way home from a long nachspiel...
Ich liebe Flohmärkte und Märkte
New viewer here. Why do you want old photos and papers?
I enjoy ephemera! Looking at old photographs, reading old letters, and researching the paper that I find.
I need to just take a long road trip and hit flea markets and thrift stores all over the country.
That would be awesome to do!
💜
Your much to young for bad back, look after yourself, second hand parts are no good.
