RAF Typhoon Display Jet With New Union Flag/Jack Colours

A new Typhoon aircraft has been revealed at RAF Coningsby, and it will sport the colours of the Union Flag/Jack. The aircraft will be used at air shows both at home and overseas throughout 2021 and 2022, after the 2020 season was cancelled by the coronavirus pandemic.

No need to accommodate the ignorant by putting “flag”. It is the Union Jack; logically, historically, officially and legislatively.
From its earliest days, the Admiralty often referred to the flag-however it was used-as the Union Jack. The term ‘jack’ predates the ‘jackstaff’ by over 150 years. In 1902 an Admiralty Circular announced that either name could be used officially. And in 1908 the UK Parliament passed the verdict, stating that ‘the Union Jack should be regarded as the national flag’.
