Lau Ka Long always kinda felt like the closest thing Kiryu had to a personal arch enemy, maybe besides Hiroshi Hayashi, so the two of them being willing to bury the hatchet is really heartwarming.
I love how Kiryu is just like "Look, I get it, but... we've each moved on, Lau Ka Long. Let's at least part ways amicably." without actually stating it.
I like how Saeko casually stop by at an underground arms dealer, and nonchalantly deals with deal-gone-wrong situation as if she's shopping at a local Walmart
After the shit she went through in the first game and the fact that she's friends with Zhao, Joon-gi Han and Seonhee, she's probably used to just casually stopping by places like this at this point.
This definitely throws the twin brother theory right out the window. This doesn't really explain how one would survive a direct shot to the head (which they remind us of in this game). Was he revived by mystic Chinese herbal medicine? I bet it was mystic Chinese herbal medicine.
People have survived being shot in the head though so it isn't impossible. The bullet was also in his head and didn't exit out the other side so the damage wouldn't be as bad.

Story wise it feels like the Yakuza series has become a joke. First Kashiwagi, then Han Joon Gi, Chau Ka Long (Who i assumed was Lau's brother), and now Andre Richardson.
You learn in the previous game that the Joon Gi Han that we see is actually a body double that outlived the original. He’s got a drink link about it too.
Yeah besides han joon this all seems a bit absurd. I especially don't like Richardson being alive even though it seems cool at first. Should have been someone else who didn't die just didn't appear in the later games

For anyone with hope Mine is not dead, he probably is deceased. RGG held a procession for the deceased yakuza characters last year. Alongside Nishiki and Kazama, Mine was there.

As a massive Yakuza fan, this is why I prefer the Judgment series now. There are no more stakes in Yakuza anymore, Infinite Wealth also ends so disappointingly, I'm pretty sure in 9 they'll 'kill' off Kiryu, just to bring him back in 10. Repeat.

I'm hoping it changes but I don't think it will at this rate. Literally so many people know Kiryu is alive but the people that should acknowledge him.
