Mia, when you do the gestures, please look at the camera and repeat them at an angle to the camera like you did in this video with Paul. Don’t be nervous, you are very pretty and talk very well! 😀
Good luck with the live version!

Many of these gesture are common in Europe as well. Maybe more southern than northern. But then again Filipinos probably inherited it from their Spanish era.

To be honest, all of them come natural to me as we have the same meaning here with only 1 exception which is the pointing lips as we simply direct by telling/describing and if we want to be more specific we include the pointing finger. However, it's considered rude to point to any other person while you are having a conversation (which you have if you are giving directions).
Because pointing to a person is likely because you are talking about or gossip about that person.
Yet again an exception on this as well :)
You can point to a person with your finger IF that person can see you doing so. But you will give a knot with your head same time to acknowledge you know he sees you pointing. Now this person knows you don't gossip but likely he will expects or thinks you direct the person you are talking with, over to him so he can assist further. Meaning he's alerted and wait for the person to come over.
If misunderstood, expect the person you pointed to will come over asking you about your problem with him ..... lol

Paul, with all the respect…sometimes it would be better if you learn how NOT to interrupt Mia so we could actually hear the opinion of a Filipino and not having the westerner view explained. After all we watch those precious videos to learn more about the Filipino's and their culture.
    Thank you!

I think you two are the coolest couple; and really helping me understand the Philippines for when I go there, it’s not so much to visit and go on Tours but it’s more to see if I want to retire in the Philippines. And I would be honored if I could meet you two and could guide me through to help me understand the Philippines especially if I meet a Filipina that would love to be with a foreigner. Because the last thing I want is being scammed lol Hopefully they will allow foreigners Shortly in to visit 🙂

It was interesting, I would have liked to see all the gestures in the original on Filipinos people if they do not feel observed so that the originality does not suffer. Most of it is international except for the lips and the "I want to pass". Body language of Italians is very interesting the gestures they make when they speak super loud

When I was growing up in the Philippines, when we were at a restaurant and my father wanted to ask for the bill, he would get the waiter's attention and make a box shape in the air with his fingers, i.e. please bring me the bill. Is this still a common thing?

    Hey, Paul.
I see you are having neck pain, and I'm guessing most likely headaches too.
Try looking straight ahead while placing the palm of your hand on the round bottom rear part of your skull just behind and below your ear. Push your palm against your head while resisting movement of your head with your neck muscles. Do that on both sides. NOT TOO FORCEFULLY! Just use the amount of resistance that is comfortable but not painful. You will most likely be rewarded with one or perhaps multiple pops from your neck, and a relief of pain, as your neck realigns. My chiropractor taught me that! Sometimes it helps to slightly turn your head back and forth left to right while resisting as explained at the same time.
This is NOT expert medical advice. I am NOT a doctor! Use at your own discretion! I'm just sharing advice that made my life much better.
    Good luck.

This way of communicating maybe ok with in the culture, but it is a lazy and rude way to act around people from other countries. Often you are not looking directly at someone when asking a question and think the person has not answered you. This often causes confusion and upset. Takes a long time to adjust this cultural way.
