I remember as a teen at the time that I expected gothic lolita makeup to be more extravagant like Mana did it, but most makeup tutorials I saw in the EGL magazines was really this subtle - as if you could switch between your lolita clothes and "normal" outfits without changing your makeup. And the models usually were asian so the eyeliner shapes were designed to work for hooded eyes so it never looked the same on me. Though now in my 30s I finally got some hooded lids so maybe they will work now lol.
as someone who doesn't wear a lot of make-up: I feel like you took the instructions from the guide and turned them up to 11 😅 especially compared to the photos, I would do less blush, less lashes, thinner eyeliner, less shimmer, and lighter coverage lipstick
Liked both makeup looks. I actually do my makeup more like the GLB one though. I think a more berry lipstick would look good with the first makeup look if I was doing it myself (I think it looked berry in the GLB). You look really pretty with your own makeup and look like you really enjoy it, so that’s the most important thing that makeup makes you feel confident and pretty.
I think that the part about using pearl as a base may mean a crushed pearl powder foundation, which lightens the skin a bit without looking like clown white. I think Erin Parsons made a video about it?
I like your style of outlining the eyeshadow with the black, I think I will try that out next time I have reason to do my makeup. Loved the video, it's interesting to see the difference that lipstick color made to the first look.
the T zone shimmer is giving data from star trek lmao
Your goth makeup is very reminiscent of the 60s mod makeup - I like doing similar on myself sometimes!

As a big makeup person, the level of frustration with that makeup tutorial from the magazine could send me to a mental breakdown 😂😂😂😂

Not the t zone shimmer, it’s sending me too far back to my early high school makeup days 😭 Lovely video as always Lor ❤
