Unfortunately we had a serious attack last week here in Sonoma County at Salmon Creek. Like the name suggests, its a known feeding spot and also where the waves break. The guy got bitten on his leg, made it in with help and got a pro tourniquet by an actual doctor that happened to be there. Then he got helicopter flown to SF hospital and is recovering.
Salmon creek you are asking for it… it can happen anywhere though. More fooz be paddling out in shark hunting ground elephant seal 🦭 protected areas. Those poor otters 🙏 🦦 from the home turf🤙
I went to fly today around the same time and I patrolled up and down the beach, no sightings today. There were a couple guys out surfing and I focused on the areas they were in.
Hi, my name is Jessica Andrews. I'm a reporter with the Wild Rivers Outpost in Crescent City. I was hoping to share your video with others in Del Norte County. Did you just happen to notice the Great White?
There is no need to fear or change your routine, it was just cool to see it majestically cruising, it turned around once it noticed the surfer and cruised to deeper water
Point St George has some good size whites on the Reg So cal transplant surfing Nor cal breaks for three years now they are there my dudes pray for surf swell and long workable rides be safe my dudes 🤙
Hey this is Bellamy Nofsinger's mom - a friend just sent me photos of Bellamy surfing on March 20 and April 3.. new footage! what are the names of those links? We'd love to view!
I only posted photos on Facebook Crescent city surfers FB group. I thought you were already a member? If you want friend me on Facebook Robert Fields, that way I can send you all the photos I have🤙❤️
I would love to meet Larry someday, I moved to Crescent City a year ago and all the surfers I've met have told me about Larry, he's a legend in Crescent City!!! This was around 2-30 3-00ish I think coulda been a little later.
Larry was out this afternoon. I couldn't put on my wetsuit due to a sprained finger so I was spectating. There are 2 Larry's that I know of and both do surf except I ride with Larry the knee boarder most of the time. Welcome to Crescent City!
Are you going to visit SC in October? We're having a bodyboard competition on the 2nd. Will sure to hit a couple of spots at my old stomping grounds in Monterey bay and SC area.
@@Kuyas_Adventures I’m planning on going down around Oct 12-13 the surf is forecasted 6-8 right now but that will likely change but that’s the swell I’m tracking right now. I need some fresh footage LOL🤣😎🤙
Was this just after high tide? At minute 4:05 you can see what looks like that nasty carcass...The shark is almost straight out from it. It's super stinky and I do wonder if it's attracting the shark at high?
Yes, The surfer on a longboard is about 50 yards from the shark, this video is best viewed on a 4K TV then you can really see the surfer and the shark to compare with for size. You be the judge. LOL! ;-)
Get over it, I get some phenomenal shots with the drone. I post the photos on Facebook and the videos on RUclips and Facebook. A lot of the guys that I film have never had really good quality pictures taken of them and they really appreciate having the photo memories. I do fly low, but I am in front of the surfers all the time never impeding they don’t usually even notice me.
@@surfpunksurfflickscrescent7025 He comitted suicide a few years ago. He had been living/recording in Pacifica in Williams, Oregon and died there. The house used to be owned by Steve Miller, the musician. Then a friend of mine lived there when I was growing up and I hung out there frequently. And then by some coincidence Dennis Dragon moved there (years after I heard and started loving the Surf Punks). And then by an even bigger coincidence I found out he killed himself from a girl I went on a date with who used to work on the property.
I thought thresher too, But I am no shark expert. I do know great whites like to eat seals and the sea lions as well so maybe that is what this one is doing?
Y’all trippin! No thresher in the world girth like that nd bigger than that surfboard right there. This shark is massive. Threshers in close to shore 6 foot on average this fish plus 10 feet.
That's a Thresher shark you kook. Just because you have a drone does not give you a degree in oceanography. Threshers live here and are harmless. Take your camera back to Santa Cruz and stay there.
Hmmm… I guess your degree helps you identify this shark??? Nobody can say for certain which species of shark this was but I’d say you are wrong about it being a Thresher. The shark was at least 13-14 ft and the girth was in line the a great white and more specifically the tail didn’t seem long like a typical Thresher. As far as you telling me to go back to Santa Cruz… to that I say “eat sh*t” 😉🖕
Threashers don't have thick tails all the the way back as this does an Whites do live in CC, younger Whites stay closer to the shoreline then older mature Whites, the hunt the Ray's an fish..you can tell by the head front Fins an tail this is a 9-10ft White Shark.

Could you fly out this weekend ? I was planning on surfing there Sunday lol

I have caught shark here. not Great whites, But other sharks.
Nice, and the music is the bomb... yes, majestic... thx
Wow!! I'm so glad I came across this. Guess I won't be going surfing for a minute lol

We could definitely use some shark spotters in Nor Cal….
...and some experts from the Oceanographic Institute on the mainland 😉
It’s common practice in S Africa

Probably closer to say 12 ft. Still a beautiful animal.
I love this crazy dense coastal fog bro
This fog sucks!!
I was thinking about driving north for the swell that's coming in but its not as good as earlier predictions
been watching the cams at Otter Rock but nothing but Kooks floating in the shore break
they were forecasting 8-10 tomorrow but that has dropped to 4-6 I think
17,000! Good job grandpa

First shark seen since I got here
That’s bigger than the last one I encountered in Florida
That is not a 15ft shark, It is not small, burt maybe 9-12ft. I have studied shark footage for years and that is not a 15ft'er
film all that with a drone that awesomeness
Drone footage is awesome!! The perspective is stunning 😉❤️
Nice for security to be wandering about for crowd enforcement
What time was this? I was there in the water with Larry and around 4-ish till pass 7 pm @ the old Beach Comber to middle area.
around 2:30

It’s got to be looking for that stinky dead seal on the beach I’m sure at high tide that carcass is chumming the water.

Don’t see how you can tell what kind of fish it is from that high
It just an educated guess, They are not that many species that grow to that size and other factors, and I do descend to about 30ft above the surface.
Great whites have a very thick tail all the way to their caudal fin as shown here. Good catch
I love you crescent city Sharks not so much
Wow.....
I don't think flying a drone is legal there
I always follow the rules when I fly, I always get Lance approval, The FAA site.
My drone won’t even take off if I don’t get approval
Way too close to that surfer!
Cool observation but that shark is closer to 8-10 feet.
Looked more like 25 ... three tons of him
Better not let Dennis Dragon see your name, lol!
