Nothing changes. The knowledge that SEO isn't nearly as important as SEO gurus try to tell us is well-known to Etsy sellers. Sales are the most important. Sales brings your listings to the first pages in search. And about Star Sellers: most Star Sellers are resellers. Etsy still doesn't do anything against resellers.
Resellers are only digital.. not POD?
Woah this is actually relevant. Etsy influencers often repeat the same stuff over and over but this is some real value!
"We give you what you meant, not what you said." This is for buyers, not sellers. It seems like the smaller sellers are being pushed out of the market. It appears to be an easier way for the platform to distinguish between higher-end sellers and those who are just starting out or struggling to make sales. This change also seems to diminish the importance of keywords for search rankings, focusing more on the actual products being sold. There are both upsides and downsides to these changes.
I want to bring up the fact that there are individuals who utilize farming sites to generate fake sales. These individuals will likely rank highly in Etsy's new search system, making it easier for them to manipulate the system. It's concerning that Etsy is leaving itself vulnerable to this type of exploitation by using AI without the ability to differentiate fraudulent activity by taking keywords ranking out of the loop. They fix one problem and create a much bigger one.
My interpretation of what Josh meant when he said we give you what you mean, not what you said was that when alot of us shop and are trying things into search, we make spelling errors. So for example, if someone searches for "floor moo" instead of "floor mop", the search engine won't come back saying zero results for "floor moo", it'll show you some floor mops.

As always, Etsy is looking for their own good. They want only the ones that sell a lot, and put them on the front. Not talking about the crap reselling from Ch---a. Those that start will take forever to get there, if given any chance. Time to jump ship.

Ok but when are we gonna actually have REAL customer service interaction with ETSY. I want to talk to a human when having an issue. Customer service is trash.
Especially when it comes to claims. Person opens claim, AI steals the money and gives it right back to them. Not sure why Etsy lets us have return policies.

Genuine artists create custom handmade products, and they may not be able to ship the same day or offer free shipping for their items. Furthermore, relatively new sellers may not have enough reviews or exposure to be among the first 6,000. Therefore, only exceptional, Chinese, and highly successful sellers will be given priority. If you don't have many sales, be prepared for reduced or no visibility

Hi Josh, can you make a video reagrding price competition. I see several shops selling sweatshirts adult large for $19 with shipping of $7.5. I am using Printify and if I sell it the same product for that price I will loose $12 per product.

And if it's Scott you need, I'd start by addressing him by the correct name. I want to point out that I'm sincerely not trying to be rude. Just pointing it out.
As far as your sweat shirt dilemma - maybe try sourcing a different POD company, or even the fabric. In biz, sometimes you need to take a few losses to get your foot in the game.

What if the term “black box” is a nod towards the airline industry’s plane “black box” that is investigated after an incident? Etsy may use it the same way but periodically “open” the previously sealed box that is not accessible otherwise
Not in these cases. Black Box refers to being unable to understand, comprehend, and make digestible.
Many algorithms are a bit of a black box to prevent gaining the system or is simply a result of *trained* systems that is always changing tracing back why a result was given becomes almost impossible.

7:05 "the product that is most likely to sell" Wrong, he said the product that person is most likely to buy. Those are different things.
The product that is most likely to sell to that buyer for that search is the product they are most likely to buy.

@@brandcreators That's okay. I am curious as to why, I had one Etsy coach tell me I need to open a new shop. Why would I have to open a new Etsy shop. I proved with this one that I can mail my products out in a timely fashion, that I am human not a robot. I have good ratings on the 39 sales that I have. The Other Etsy coach never really answered my question. Can you? I thought Josh wanted Etsy shop owners to have good customer service. How does one do that by closing one down and open another all the time? Just some questions that I had.
