Panarin is unquestionably talented. However, " The Big Apple turnover" always stays on the ice too long, doesn't hustle back to help in defensive zone, and is a defensive liability when he is back in his own zone. Frustrating to watch.

My nickname for Lindgren is "buckets" ,as in buckets of blood. All hockey players are tough and shed pints of blood but Lindy has given buckets of blood to the NYR. We want Lindy resigned for the 3rd pair and PK. Thank you, Ryan Lindgren for all you do and have done to add much needed grit and leadership by sacrificing your body for NYR fans. Every team knows how the first unit plays! It's the same setup every time, that's on the coach! He should be playing the second unit more and I'm not talking about 20 seconds!
Will Borgen might have single-handedly sunk our season with that bone-headed pass at the end of the avalanche game. I was at that game the energy that got sucked out of the room in an instant was almost hard to describe. Here you are you just get a nice fat contract for what your talent actually is and you make a move like that have some awareness. I really hope this isn't the start of another 4 and 15 run. And I'll be in the garden for the Vegas game on Sunday I'm nervous about that one now
Ever since Trochek attempted that drop pass to Miller, this team has been playing with their tail between their legs. More Chytll, less Panarin. Youth shall be served. Season is certainly still salvagable.
The most important thing said was Larry’s comment…they need to get bigger, more physical. They are not one player away from a cup. Panarin is incredibly talented offensively but just does not play a style that wins in the playoffs. Lindy deserves to get paid but is just not big enough on D and plays a style (that I respect) that leaves him constantly banged up. I love Kreider (one of my favorite all time Rangers) but he looks cooked. Mika is just so fragile. Etc. Some very tough decisions to be made at trade deadline and in offseason.
Resigning Borgen is a terrible signing, ignoring the fact that its too many years too much money and trade protection, they bring up Staal and Girardi and completely ignore the fact that they had to buy our one and gave up a second get rid of the other. Who cares about the next 3 years we arent even close to winning a cup and certainly not in the next 3 years. Why resign get assets, if he is really wanted like they said he is we could get assets.
Drury is such a bad GM. Signing Borgan now and with that contract makes no sense. There was no hurry in doing anything with Borgan until at least the trade deadline where you may have been better off trading him given the fact that this team may be out of the playoffs by then. Giving him this ridiculous contract and adding an NMC is abhorrent.
What you missed is that Mika, Kreider, Miller and Lindgren have not been good even during the wins. Certainly not earning their salaries for years now and it's time for major trades. Carrick has carried this team folks !

The Rangers have stumbled in their last two games of the month. This likely wouldn't have occurred if they had been strong from the start of the season. However, that is not the case. The past two games have highlighted their lack of spirit and hockey intelligence. They are currently fighting to secure a wild-card spot before the playoffs begin, but they are not quite there yet. Their power play is ineffective-passing along the borders is so predictable that other teams easily keep them away from the net. The defense is hindered by poor decisions. Goals = Wins. The veterans are past their prime, and management needs to acknowledge that they lack core winners. Mika has not been in top form since COVID, and it is clear that Chris K. is protecting his back by avoiding puck battles. On the other hand, hats off to Chytil. His spirit and energy should be the standard for the rest of the team. When your fourth line is your go-to line, that's a problem. As I watch the games, the superstars frequently become invisible. I can go on but will wait for the next update.

Kreider is washed up, you can see how he is just coasting out there not effecting the game at all, Zibanajed has been absolutely atrocious and Panarin is useless if he doesn't have space. The last few years the Rangers have played an aggressive style where they took many, many chances. Till this year it pretty much worked. Why isn't that style working today?? It seems most of the team has lost their speed & edge. Adam Fox, Vincent Trochek, etc. etc. all seem to have lost a step or two. Might explain why they always seem to be chasing & reaching. It's reminiscent of the 1965 Yankees were 'everybody' got old at once.
Time to rebuild. This team is not going to win the Stanley Cup this year. The core has had its chances and they closest the have come is a 2x ECF lost. They could not get over the hump. The owner, management,players..etc need to be honest with themselves. Fans saying get JT, personally I think that is the wrong move. Your acquiring another 30+year old player with a NMC and has a high salary. If the Rangers were 1 piece away, sure i can see it. However, this team is not one piece away. They are lacking in defensive depth with EJ Emry being your best defensive prospect. Robertson is not the prospect that can be utilized. Center Depth is bare with McConnell Barker being your best center in the system.. I just think Drury should be a seller and look at the long game, not the short game. Trade Riley Smith, Lindgren, K Andre Miller. Possibly if the return is high enough Kreider. I would say Mika, but no team is going to take on that contract... I just think rebuilding will be the best answer, but unfortunately Drury seems at this point to double down and try to push this mediocre team into the playoffs. I would much rather have a few years as basement dwellers and many years of Stanley Cup Contenders then what they have now.

This is awful. This season is anything but a success. The whole team needs to be renamed and put in Dolan's sister's name. We close down MSG for a while. Get rid of everyone. Put Igor on Waivers, hopefully he gets claimed! We stop showing up to games this year and next. As we reorganize and play under a different name. We work on ourselves. Then when we're ready on our own terms we reveal ourselves at the garden.
